ONYX IS CONQUERED

Deep smokes emerges from the city of light as Onyx lies in ruins. The sky is darkened as the inferno rages on. The Aarangs are having a filled day as they caught through every starlight army that stood on their way. Women and children scamper for safety as they are not left out of the onslaught. The once heavily guarded kingdom was now at the mercy of Gogla and his demons. Bodies littered the once beautiful street as more and more fell to the sword of the invading army. If only the people of Onyx had listened, if only they heeded the warnings of Jalib, the seer but now was too late for any form of hearkening

"Weoss is warning, He will soon depart, return to Him all ye people of starlights. He is not happy, He needs you all to come back to him in repentance" The shabbily dressed Jalib cried out on the streets of Onyx as he moved from one point to another on each busy pathway. Women laughed at him and mocked him, children threw dirt and rotten food items at him, even the men shook their heads in disapproval of this warnings. You could hear side talks of "He is drunk again", " Seems like he needs alms and is indirectly asking for it" and  "when will this menance of a man stop?" At times Jalib will sit in the middle of the busy and choked up town market crying out and begging for people to listen but each time no one paid him attention, even if he had the ears of some, their few numbers will certainly be discouraged by the mass apathy and any form of hearkening will definitely be snuffed out

Weoss was the mystical Lion that ruled Onyx through the power of the seat of fire, a seat whose occupant was respected and feared by the whole seven nations. Each time Weoss moved around Onyx, His presence can be felt and known through the hot and scorching effect that envelopes the surrounding where He stood. No starlight has ever seen Weoss but they always communicated to Him through His son Gogla who was the head of the fairies that served Weoss. The starlights had the duty of offering sacrifices and worshipping the seat of fire whose symbol represented Weoss and His authority but somewhere along the line, they defected from this old custom and shyed away fron their worshipping responsibility. Weoss has always been a merciful and compassionate king as he looked past this rebellion most times, still dropping warnings expecting the starlights to repent and resume their duties once more but it seemed that they took his leniency for granted and instead showed no sign of remorse or returning. Something that now caused them not only their stay in Onyx but also for most of them their lives

Each time Onyx faced external threat of any form, they went into the battle and fight with zero fright or doubtnin their hearts and minds because they knew that once the battle goes out of their control, the mystic Lion announces His presence with a deafening roar and launches supernatural torrents of attacks to crush such threats. No wonder when Gogla and his army of Aarangs sounded their battle horns, theynwere not scared in any way but rather they took up alms as usual and headed out to challenge whatsoever lied outside the mighty walls but alas they met their waterloo as their disobedience was the achilies heel that led to their unprecendented defeat. Gogla fought them to a standstill with his army of half humans half demons Aarangs. When the battle was totally against them, the weilders of the swords of flames expected the loud arrival of their king but suprisingly all they hear that moment were the shouts of the Aarangs and the cries of the starlights as they feel in thier numbers. When they knew all hope was lost was when Gogla climbed unto the seat of fire, picked up the Phlir, raised it up and let out shouts and laughters of evil truimph. The question on every starlights mind was why did Weoss allow His evil son take control of His throne

Gogla was the head of all Weoss creations and the proclaimed heir and only son of the mystic Lion. He was assigned the head of the fairies Weoss servants and demi sons, being in charge of ruling the provinces in Onyx and instructing the starlights of the rules and commandments of Weoss. Gogla had this unsatiable taste and urge for power and this made him envy the seat of fire as only it can grant him full power and authority over the entire Sureno that housed the seven nations. Weoss and His entire creations were not mortals so the concept of His death and Gogla taking over as His successor was totally irrelevant so Gogla knew that the only way he could assume that throne has to be an overthrowing, he knew he couldn't pull this off on his own so he convinced a significant number of the fairies to join him for the overthrowing course. After carefully planning their move for days, Gogla and his rebelling army struck but unknowing to Gogla, Weoss had caught a whimp of this gang up so the element of surprise was not in Gogla's favour. They were defeated by the trio of Weoss, His loyal fairies and the bravest of the starlights soldiers although they fought fearlessly and gallantly but the master of all battles Weoss was in the best of shape to inflict a very brutal defending of His seat of authority. Gogla was driven out of Onyx with the host of his Aarangs ( Gogla gave them this name after he had gathered them together). He lost all his privileges as the head of all Weoss creations and was barnished out of Onyx with a strict warning from the mystic Lion that he would lose his breath of life if he ever thought of coming back. Gogla was disgraced but certainly not dettered, he was planning his revenge on Onyx and needed just the right opportunity to strike which the starlights handed to him when they disrespected and turned their backs at Weoss. When Gogla heard of their defiance of Weoes orders, he immediately mustered his Aarangs and marched towards Onyx because as far as he was concerned there was no way Weoss would fight for any disobedient follower. If there is one thing Weoss hated, it had to be the shortcoming of disobedience in form of rebellion.

Seeing Gogla raise the Phlir, Mawyl the head of the starlights army knew it was unneccessary fighting any longer. For the first time since its existence, the retreating horn sounded in Onyx to the shock of the soldiers and the horror of the people of Onyx. The soldiers stopped fighting and started fleeing to the amusement of the Aarangs who in no way held back in their striking down of the starlighgs. Horses, chariots and carts raced out of Onyx in escape as the more deep billows of dark smokes turned the fairly bright skies surrounding the city. Sighting the absconding moves of the starlights, Gogla ordered his Aarangs not to go after them to avoid surprises on the outskirts of Onyx

Leading the surviving starlights to some safe distance away from Onyx, Mawyl halted and every other moving feet halted as well. Climbing down from his horse, he whispered some instructions into the ears of the Eeries the heads of the provinces of Onyx. Getting on his gracefully decorated horse, he turned his beast towards Onyx and with a shout of "a fight to death", he charged towards the burning kingdom. Seeing their leader sudden move, all the starlights soldiers followed suit letting out the same cry. Wives shouted after their husbands, children after their but in the hearts of all the soldiers, the feeling of family was missing as none turned back to those cries. The Eeries cajoled the remaining starlights to keep moving as they waiting in the open like that unsecured was not ideal

Gogla moved slowly among the jubilating Aarangs as he finally went back to sit on the throne of fire. Thd burnings around Onyx made the kingdom look like a piece of crumbled rubies. The gates of Onyx were still open, Gogla ordered for its closure but as some Aarangs made to effect this order, Mawyl charged in unexpectedlty with the other soldiers. The Aarangs at the gate were struck down swiftly but soon Gogla and his forces regrouped immediately and attacked, cutting down all the insignificant resistance from the starlights. Gogla ordered that Mawyl be brought to him, transforming into his full beast form, he digged his claws into Mawyl's chest and drew his heart out.

The starlights heard the noise of approaching horses, they halted frightly. There it was to their horror, the dead bodies of the soldiers tied to the horses
