CHAPTER 3: TEST SUBJECTS (2)

*Pant*

At night time, after I went to bed. I took to notice I was sweating profusely.

"Its hot".

'Is it me or is it hot in here'.

Puzzled by the menacing heat. I couldn't catch a glimpse of sleep, as my thoughts recurred in disarray.

*Ba-thump*

I felt a strange feeling as if I was being flooded with information large enough to eat my brain. As the feeling got stronger, it kept on eating my brain.

"It hurts... it hurts...".

My breath grew heavier every passing second, with my body sweating buckets from the pain.

The agony was truly terrifying.

*Zap*

My whole body felt a strange shock that ran wildly through every inch of my body.

After a while, my brain was able to endure the pain of my brain melting from the inside. As I tried to figure out why I started to feel this way, my thoughts were all washed away from exhaustion.

I sighed in relief,

"Hah... Hah... Finally, I can... Sle... Zzz".

The next day

We were all brought into a new place with toys and books everywhere.

It looked similar to the play hall at first glance, but it had a big difference, a large screen was kept on the right to the left corner of the hall, then I questioned myself,

'Why are they observing us again?,

Is this where the main project starts?',

As I kept on questioning myself, I lost track of time and could feel the cold gaze of the people behind the screen. I instantly took off to avoid arousing suspicions,

Our days started like that, with ourselves being watched over.

After a few days of the cold gaze from the screen.

I then hid over in a corner, attempting to avert the attention of those by the screen.

Though all went well our days were pretty much normal in a way as everyone kept to themselves until.

"Hey"

I heard a voice of another person as I looked up in sight of who it was, I saw a boy at the same age as me, I was surprised at first because, since the beginning no one had talked,

— But why now?

"I'm Number 101",

He said with a smiling expression.

"Would you like to play with us?"

I wanted to ignore him at first, but the smiling expression he had was blinding. I was taken by surprise as I answered.

"Play?"

Quickly, he nodded, turning his gaze behind him.

As I glanced at him, I noticed someone behind the boy, as it was a girl, she wore number 100.

She gave off the feeling of an introvert.

I then wondered.

'When did they get together? We weren't interacting since. So when did he make a friend?'

As I glanced at her, she reminded me of my former self. Though, in my former life I had no friends, every day in school was just a day of hell.

I would be able to have friends in this life, I thought

I was contemplated—even an introvert like her was able to make friends.

Well, there is no harm if I tried, maybe in this new life I would be able to get friends.

"OK, what do you want us to play?"

"Uhmm... What do you want us to play?"

"Ehh... So you came here for that, I thought you had already picked a game to play."

I knew shouting at a 5 year old would seriously deal a big blow in getting to know more about them so I endured with their lack of understandings.

*Sigh*

"Hah, OK... Why don't we play a word game?"

"OK...."

Instantly he turned silent, with a dumbfounded look on his face.

Noticing this I knew he had no knowledge of what the word game means. So I said.

"The word game, it's pretty easy to understand all you have to do is say a word start with the last letter in previous persons' word. Like this if i say 'game' you'd say a word starting with the letter 'E' and the next person would have to say a word starting with the last letter in the previous person's word."

"So do you get it."

"Yes."

That's weird, normally I was expecting they wouldn't get a single thing I said, but they were able to get it after I explained.

Oh well... It's not like that matters to me, I hate thinking about the big stuffs.

After a little while of playing,

The girl who was clinging on to number 101 started to get closer to me, and before I noticed, I had become her [hiding tree],

"What are you doing over here?", I said as I smiled at her.

*Silence* She replied.

"Ehh...".

I was shocked by her silent response.

It seemed I've just included my self with a strange person.

I then tried to move her from me, but she kept on chasing me, then I asked number 101.

"Why is she following me?",

"Oh, she just likes clinging to people, she would go away after a few days",

"Ehh".

— Please don't tell me I have to keep up with this for a few days,

Well, for the first time we met she was clinging onto me to, well Goodluck

As he said those words with a smile, I felt that I had just been sabotaged

But I thought times like this was OK once in a while.

After some moments, a thought hit me.

'That's weird. Where did they all learn to play? Where did they learn to speak? All I can think of it's all part of their experiments...",

Thought came flooding into my mind, filling my messy head. Then within a moment I was suddenly struck with an inspiration that the blue substance we were all given might have caused it,

'The blue substance was injected into us, number 100 to 110... But. What is the even that blue stuff? All I can assess is, after a few days, number 101 started talking, Number 100 first met 101, then 101 meet me... Wait, aren't I supposed to meet 103, but I don't feel like it, well, I would have to wait for the next day to find out... Hmm... Arghhh... What am I thinking of this isn't mystery situation all my clues are useless'.

After a short delay, I then tried to access the situation, but my mind couldn't keep up.

In the first place, I wasn't that smart in school, I was the type that never cares about the big stuffs and just hide in a shell so thinking was like a pain to me.

Later on, I figured finding what the substance was for is a lot of pain, so I gave up and thought of another thing.

As I was playing fun house with friends,

Unaware of being watched over, I didn't know that the dangers of this facility were to come.

At the same time, behind the glass wall.

There the command stood observing the test subjects. Then came a [men in white], who was holding on to a glass projection tablet.

"Commander".

"Yes".

The Commander averted his gaze from the test subjects to the [men in white].

"Here are the reports on the phase 2".

He then gave out the tablet to the Commander. Receiving the tablet the Commander gazed at it, as it showed the review of all the test subjects.

"Hmm... I see, seems like it was successful this time".

"Yes, the Norfork drug as all been administered, there are no problems with its effect".

"Hmm...".

The Commander pondered as he recalled his time with the last test subjects.

Norfork drug, one of the deadliest drugs that overloads the brain with knowledge on all aspects, there by increasing the subjects IQ,

One drop of it could kill a human instantly. Once injested it overloads the brain with knowledge. Normally, it was made for humans but after test and test, it seemed that when taken the human brain rather than it being assimilated the brain blows up from the amount of knowledge impacted per second.

Later it was then proved that a normal human can't resist its effect.

For these test subjects to all be successful it seems like the drug was specifically made for them

I don't know what you are doing professor but I would definitely stop you.

Interrupting the Commander who was lost in thought, the [men in white] said

"Commander, about the next phase".

After a quick glance, he then replied, while returning the tablet back

"The next phase is going to take place in two years".

"Ok sir".

He then gazed at the test subjects, pondering.

'Phase 3, I wonder if the professor's little subjects are all going to survive that'.

The sound of a drop echoed as it resonated through a clear white misty place.

*Drop*

Then came a blonde girl dressed in white, saying.

Phase, test subjects, the young Blu finds himself stuck in a strange facility with a group of other youngsters like him, undergoing strange phases of unknown experiments will he ignore the tension of the facility and enjoy his life with his new friends or will he do otherwise find out next time on RE;IN PHASE 3 let's see what fate holds.
