13 - The Big Explosion

"A little more!" I insisted.

"I can't!" she said helplessly. She looked at me like she was breathing her last air with pain.

"It's almost over. You can do it."

"Ed!"

"Please, Nina!"

My hand was bleeding when I held the sharp rock. The pain was rippling through my body like a crazy fire. It was like my soul was being burned. As her hands slipped through my hand, the whole world was mixed up. It wasn't just her hands that slipped out of my hand. Everything was ending. I could hear my voice back there.

"Just a little more, please!" My eyes were on those horrible cliffs that were rising down there. Each one was like a terrible stake rising into the sky. They were sharp and big.

"Ed!" shouted someone. Their scream shook the ground and the sky. The place seemed to be separated. Stones were falling from above and exploding in terrible liquid versions.

"Ed!" shouted someone again.
