"But sir, the kid is too young, what if he....." the woman said trying to make the young man change his mind.

"There are no what-ifs, I have made my decision and it stands. Get the necessary requirements ready we are leaving soon," the young man said and began to walk away, when he got to where Gavin was he stopped. "Follow me!' he ordered and walked past him.

Gavin did as he was told to and followed the young man. They got to the spherical room and went in.

"This should be your first time right?" the young man asked while taking a seat.

"Yeah, it is," Gavin replied.

"Then...."

"Sir Lucas, the requirements are ready," a girl came into the room carrying some bags.

"Good! where are the others?" Lucas asked the girl.

"On...Oh, here they are."

The remaining five members came in as well and they all gathered around their leader, Lucas.

"Kid, what is your name?" Lucas asked while staring at Gavin.

"Gavin is my name."

"Good, since this is your first time going on an adventure, you won't be doing anything rather you will carry these bags," Lucas said pointing at the bags the girl brought in.

Gavin frowned his face at what Lucas said, he didn't know that this was the extent of his uselessness to them. "But sir, why should I carry these bags, I..."

"Say no more word kid, this is the least you can do...Zerah, give him the newcomer rules and regulations," Lucas said and stood up.

The girl Zerah brought out a piece of brown paper and handed it to Gavin who snatched it from her hand in anger.

After reading the rules, he grew more upset than he was. "I should not involve in any fight? I should not keep a far distance from the members? I should carry everything? And I should not keep any magic item to myself? what the fuck are these damn rules!" Gavin felt enraged by their rules. He was not going to do anything? but his reason for wanting to join a guild was to get stronger, how was he going to do that without having to fight along with them, on top of that, the rule says he will submit any of his magic items found.

"Mind your word usage here, he is our leader and you dare not talk rudely to him," a young man said while glaring at Gavin.

"It's a kid mentality so ignore him, there is nothing he can do about the rules," another man said.

"It's enough!" Lucas ordered and everyone kept quiet. "Kid, you have no choice, it's either you leave or stay and abide by the rules, which do you want?"

"I'll stay!" Gavin replied with a clenched fist. 'Just you wait! I'll show you what I can do!' 

"Good, now all of you stand before the information device," Lucas ordered and all the six of them gathered except Gavin and Lucas.

One by one they walked to a red painted machine and stood facing it. The machine then will scan them and after doing that it bring out the person's info. So far, there were three 'D' rank members, two 'C' rank members, one 'A' rank member and lastly one 'SS' rank member, that is Lucas.

Gavin stared surprisingly at the girl called Zerah who is the one with the 'A' rank. She among the other members is the youngest and so it surprised Gavin.

"Hey, come over and stand," Lucas said to Gavin bringing him out of his thoughts.

Gavin walked to the machine and stood before it, after scanning him, it brought out his info.

"Since everyone is ready, let's get going," Lucas said. He pressed a button by the side of the machine and an electromechanical purple glimmering door appeared and opened, "Gavin carry the bags, everyone let's go."

Gavin bent down to carry the bags while the rest began to walk through the opened door. Lucas waited for him and when he was done he entered the door with Lucas behind.

"We are here," Lucas said as they appeared before a large dungeon door.

"Sir Lucas, this is the dungeon of souls right? what are we doing here?" Zerah asked in fear, same as the other members who turned to stare at their leader.

"What are we doing here? we are here to explore it! now let's go in!" Lucas said and began to walk towards the door. The others looked at Zerah and then back to Lucas, without saying another word they began to walk towards the door.

Lucas placed his left hand on the door and immediately a rumbling sound was heard followed by the opening of the door. Lucas went in followed by the others and lastly Gavin.

"Everyone stay at a close range and don't get lost," Lucas said as the door closed behind them.

They all nodded and began to walk until they got to a smaller door, upon getting to it, the door opened and they walked through it and a large room came into their view.

"Sir Lucas, I sense dark energies here," Zerah commented while looking around.

"Yes, same here,"

"I sense it too, so we must be..... watch out!" Lucas didn't finish his sentence when they got attacked. They turned and looked around but there was nothing.

"What was that?" one lady asked in fright.

"I couldn't see it," Zerah said.

"Same here."

"No one saw it of course,"

"Well, except me! I saw it!" 

They turned to the owner of the voice and it was Gavin.

"What did you say?" Zerah asked facing him.

"I said I saw it," Gavin replied.

"How were you able to see it...."

"What did you see?" Lucas asked instead not minding what the others were asking.

"I saw a shadow figure but it was wearing a suit of armour on its body and a mask on its face....."

"The Shadow Knight!"
