After realizing that the potential in Gladio's body was more terrifying than he thought. Artorius decides to take Gladio somewhere.
The journey takes about 5 to 7 days. Along the way, Gladio looked down with withered eyes.
The boy couldn't understand at all what had happened to him. His right hand was still throbbing, but it had calmed down much more than before.
"Krik! Krik! Krik!”
The sound of crickets singing was like the sound of a night goddess singing. Gladio didn't say anything at all even on a quiet night, on the fifth day they walked there wasn't the slightest look of joy or excitement in his eyes.Artorius also feels guilty for forcing Gladio to become his disciple. If Artorius hadn't taught him magic, maybe Gladio wouldn't have felt the pain in his hand.
“Huh…!” Artorius sighed and looked up at the moon that lit them up. “What a beautiful weather!” He tried to open the topic of conversation, but Gladio just looked down and stared at the small bonfire that kept on swaying.
"Gladio!" Artorius rebuked the boy in a serious tone.
Gladio started to lift his eyes. "Uh, what's wrong?" It was a soft reply from his mouth.
“Huh… I'm sorry for the selfishness that came from me, you must have had bad days!”
There's no need to feel formal, if you feel guilty about other people. Artorius didn't want himself to regret in the future for not being able to say sorry.
Gladio was taken aback, he didn't think that a great man like Artorius would bow his head sincerely to someone like himself who was never considered a human.
“I think, Master is going too far! I don't deserve that apology, I'm just a cursed human, so it's only natural that the skills Master taught me can't learn properly!” According to Gladio, it was all because of him that caused Artorius to have a nightmare.
“Huh…!” Again Artorius couldn't make the boy's face look excited. “Gladio, I have something to say to you! This is probably the reason why I want to make you a disciple!”
The atmosphere became a little heavier, Artorius' gaze radiated an intense seriousness.
Gladio was curious as to what kind of things Artorius would say, so the atmosphere changed drastically.
“I've heard a prophecy! The ancient prophecy revealed by my master. He once said that one day a creature will appear who has the gift of two powers, namely a bright light like the sun, but also accompanied by a dark shadow like an endless abyss. That power will shake all creatures in this world! They will together find a way to defeat the creature. If I find that creature, then I am asked to lead it somewhere!”
From Artorius' words, it was clear where they were going. No need to explain anymore, Gladio already understands that he will be taken to a place. Although, he didn't know where it would take him, but he was sure that Artorius would make the right choice.
“Gladio, the place we are going to is a region where all beings will find peace, so you must be prepared! If you manage to control the wild soul within your body, you will be able to subdue that great power, but if you fail, you will become a being similar to the Demon Lord!”
Gladio was silent. He was lost in the thoughts that were in his head. Gladio wasn't so sure that he could control the wild soul that Artorius was referring to.
“Can I ask you one thing?”
"Uh?" Finally Artorius could see Gladio speaking as loosely as before. "What do you want to ask!"
"What exactly happened to me here?" Gladio began to realize that it would be impossible for him to have those creepy hands without a reason.
“I can't answer that but, if you go to this place, you will find the answer!”
“…”
Gladio just kept silent while looking at his right hand. The next day, they stepped back to continue their journey.
About three hours from their last location for the night, they came to the end of a waterfall. A wooden bridge that connects two sides of a fast flowing river.
The roar of the waterfall sounded so loud. Gladio glanced around, his heart felt very comfortable seeing the river flowing very fast.
Artorius then stopped right in the middle of the bridge, slowly turning around.
His face was still serious as before. “Gladio, this is where we will test your skills!”
A quiet area with the sound of a waterfall that is quite loud, as well a view of the gorge of a waterfall that can't be seen because of the thick fog that covers it.
“Before you do what you have to do. I want to give you a few sentences, maybe you will think that these words are not really important. But, I will still tell you!” Astorus' hands then touched Gladio's shoulders. The old man's hand felt warm against Gladio's skin. The cold air that spread around the area was defeated by the old man's warm hand.
“There are two choices that will happen to you! The first, you will die from not being able to control the turmoil of the power that is in your body, while the second you will live with great power. But after that, there will only be trouble waiting for you! I can't say what kind of problems will come your way, but the point is that these problems will still come, you must prepare for their arrival!”
Gladio looked seriously into Astorus' eyes. “Okay, I understand! now there is no time for me to regret everything. I live in this world already experiencing difficulties, if indeed I have to die, then I will accept it. But if I can live, I will try to be better!”Artorius' eyes widened then he nodded. "Then!" His head then turned towards the end of the waterfall. “You have to jump off this bridge! There you will find an answer you may have been looking for!”
It sounded ridiculous, but Gladio felt that all he heard wasn't just some deliberate prank by Artorius. Not saying much more, Gladio immediately stood on the rope bridge. Slightly swayed the bridge, it was only a rope made of strong roots that made it like a place to test your guts. Seeing the flow of the river falling into a very deep abyss gave Gladio a little worry. But, there was no reason for Gladio to back down. Very quickly Gladio jumped into the abyss.
“I will definitely find the meaning of this life…!” said Gladio when his body fell like a log.
Artorius said all the words while looking up at the cloudy sky.__To Be Continued__
What is justice, what is truth, and why is this world full of suffering. Those were all things that was on Gladio's mind, he really felt the emotions exploding in his heart. His body seemed to fall from a height of thousands of meters, there was absolutely no sense of tension or fear. The end of the waterfall can't be seen, it's all white, which Gladio continues to pass."Why was I born in this world?" The memories of everything in his head began to string into a sad storyline. Gladio feels sad to see his parents have to suffer. "If only I wasn't born into this world, surely they would be happy!" He didn't understand what made fate so cruel to him. Gladio's eyes were closed, a single tear dripped from the membrane of his eye. "It's enough! I don't want to see everything!” "Get up!"A soft voice started calling out Gladio's name. "Uh!" He spontaneously opened his eyes. A beautiful-looking woman was already staring at him, a sweet smile etched clearly on her face. Gladio got up and g
Gladio and Irish stared at each other, the man had a more serious gaze than before. "Enough! Now you tell me, why and how come I am in this world?” Now that Gladio's attitude is more mature, his tone is much heavier and sounds like a grown man. Irish got goosebumps when her saw Gladio. "OK!" She took a deep breath, the worst would happen if her was rash in answering that man's words. “Long time ago, in this world there was a battle involving multiple beings. Every creature has the same goal which is to become the strongest, of the many creatures there are several that have been recognized. They get great titles in this world, some become Demon Lords or Heroes. Two elements that still exist today! Simply you are proof of destiny spoken by someone in the era 500 years ago, he cast a curse on someone. That person is still alive today, and he is being very anxious about your appearance!”“Humph….” In general, Gladio has understood what Irish said. “I wanted to ask, are you sure that I am
Quite a confusing opening. “So everything was planned by Artorius from the start?” Gladio became curious as to what kind of message was left for him. Slask! One page later Gladio opened. His eyes instantly bulged, in the message there was some information about the right hand that had been the location of his suffering.“Gladio, I've been trying to find out what happened to that right hand of yours! From several books and information from several people, I got something. Your right hand is a sign of a new path. That path will open a new era, destiny has given you a responsibility to change this world!” Gladio could sense Artorius' feelings, every sentence gave Gladio an idea of how serious the man was taking notes on the book. He began to turn to the next page of the book.It looks like a different page has been seen, there are several symbols and explanations listed. “Alright, this time I'll tell you everything I already know! The power that is in your right hand has extraordinary
A hint of fear in Gladio's heart arose, the huge clumps of clouds were scary enough to be looked at continuously. "What is he going to do with that black cloud?" Kakuero gave a smile and a smirking look, all of these were signs of impending evil. Gladio could only silently watch this, the man's bad intentions were clearly felt by him. “Fulgur! Perde Omnia!” In high speed a flash of light approached Gladio. Kaboom!!! Exploding lightning struck Gladio, a huge wave appeared as a result of the explosion. The strong wind that came was the embodiment of the skill's power.“Hehehe… is he dead or not?” Kakuero smirked, he really wanted to see Gladio's body that had been charred or turned to ashes from his attack. "What?!" Surprisingly, right in front of Kakuero's eyes, the man was still standing straight while giving him a sharp glare."Arrgh!" Gladio stared at his right hand, it was throbbing painfully. He groaned very loudly, the sound coming out like a dragon roaring. "Uh..." Kakuero
Helios felt that this was indeed not an easy matter, but facing the anger of Zeradas was not something that could be considered something that he could also overcome."Now I want you to explain to me, did you really kill my angel of death?""That's right, I was certain that man was dead, but right now I don't know how he came back!""You're just making excuses! Look, if you really can't deal with him, then I'll make you regret it, now I don't want you to come to me before you completely defeat that creature!""Well!" Actually Helios could pouched Zeradas in the face, but he understood this was indeed his fault. Respecting a leader is also his duty.Leaving that room, Helios wearing high anger on his face, he couldn't understand why this had to happen."Damn, I have to find this creature as soon as possible!"***Now that Gladio has traveled south, here he is trying to blend in like a normal human being. However, he still felt the hand he was carrying would be a disaster. First was the
The card started to give a unique reaction, a red light flashed out.“Master, your card is ready!”Gladio took the card, it contained all the data about himself. "Thank you!""Well! Then you need to go to the board over there to find a quest that might be able to be carried out!”Gladio turned in the direction that woman was pointing, there was a large board plastered with paper. Gladio started walking and checked the contents of those papers. The contents of the paper contained information on quests, recruiting adventurers, and fugitives. Each quest is distinguished from the mark on the paper, for the low quest will be marked with a D, while for the highest is an S."Hmm... now what quest should I do?" Gladio was confused, he actually wanted to take on a higher and more dangerous quest, but he understood this would not be possible. His condition, which is only Bronze rank, is certainly not allowed to participate. Gladio took a random quest that had the symbol D.Then he gave that que
Gladio had arrived at a small village, where the atmosphere was quite silent. However, he felt someone was watching him.Several shadows were seen, and it turned out to be the residents who gave Gladio a strange look."If I'm not mistaken this is the place of the quest I'm currently on!" A bad feeling instantly spread within his body, when Galdio turned around there was a monster that was jumping at him.Gladio's body was pounced on, the claws of that monster tearing skin and flesh.“This monster....” Gladio's hand punched that monster, sending it flying. Blood was already pouring out of his chest. “Bastard, you really seem to be looking for trouble! Ignis Scaturiens!”Gladio's fire fast rushed towards the monster, it didn't take long for that monster to scorch. The atmosphere became quiet, but not quite right, from a distance there were movements of 3 similar monsters. They have a body like a dog and can stand on two legs, each hand has claws that are so sharp. The blood on Gladio's
“It can't be helped, these monsters think a lot of them are weak! No high-level adventurers would want to do quests like this, they would prefer to get paid for much higher quests!”Hearing this explanation made Gladio confused.“So the level of adventurers will only take on quests according to the level of what they are doing!” After facing off against those monsters, he told Gladio a the level of the quest wouldn't determine how strong or weak the opponent was.“Sir, will you be able to defeat those monster?” asked the old man, his face radiating with such high worries. This was natural because Gladio was only a low rank adventurer, it would be very difficult if they believed Gladio was able to solve this problem.“That's right, you know, I'm just a low rank adventurer! The chances to completing this quest are small, and there's no level of confidence that can force it! Here I just want to give you a warning this quest has a high potential to fail!”That old man's bodies become chil
