destination unknown

For days, the lightning walked past countless villages, scaled many mountains and crossed hundreds of rivers.

he didn't know why he saved Uzo's life, he didn't know why he left the forest, he didn't know where he was going, he didn't even know who he was. all he knew was that he was going in the direction of where he should be. hunger and thirst could not stop him, neither could the dangers that lurked in the dark. there was nothing on his mind other than the direction he needed to go. this continued until he arrived at beach and couldn't go further.

he was sure that he wasn't in the place he was meant to be but he could no longer tell which direction to go. as he contemplated his next decision, he laid on the sand and fell into a deep slumber.

he slept for hours until he was finally woken up by the waves that crashed into him and after that a great amount of pain came upon his stomach. he soon noticed that it was hunger but he had nothing to eat so he had to bear it.

not long after, as he walked aimlessly on sand, watching the sunset, he noticed something coming from the horizon. he looked closer and saw a ship coming towards him but didn't know what to do so he kept pacing around until the ship arrived at shore.

before he could get closer to the ship, a voice the deck saying "give up your valuables and I'll let you live"

he looked up saw the most beautiful thing he had ever laid his eyes upon. for some reason he was dumbfounded and he just kept walking towards her not minding the crossbow she had pointing towards him.

"didn't you hear what I said?" she yelled as he continued his approach. soon she felt endangered and opened fire on him, missing every shot, and before she knew it, he was right in front of her. she fell down and began crawling away as he said "I have no valuables" and and fell face down on the deck.

"you don't look like a prophet" she said as she came closer to him.

"I'm not" he replied, still faced down

  "anyway" he said

"do you have anything that can help with my hunger?" he asked

luckily for him there was bread and meat on the ship and some were offered to him along with some wine. as he began stuffing himself with his first meal, he was asked "who are you?"

  "I don't know" he answered

"what do you mean you don't know? what's your name?" she asked in confusion.

  "I don't have a name" he replied.

at this point she knew she was dealing with a total nut case and gave up asking about him, and decided to introduce herself instead.

"my name is Mina" she said "I am the captain and crew of this ship" then she proceeded to tell her own story, mostly because she needed someone to talk to, but also because the person she was talking to had no story to tell.

Mina's origin was quite similar to that of Uzo, but it was in a much more advanced society. unlike Uzo, Mina had no family. she was raised by the prophets and lived among them peacefully until her power manifested. It was a very troublesome power, so troublesome that the order made a very quick decision to eliminate her immediately it was found out. It was the power to hear the sincere answer from people, weather they said it or not.

the prophets sensed Mina's magic when she was still very young. but she never did anything that seemed out of the ordinary. she grew up to be smarter than everyone around her so every time she pointed out that someone was lying, it was attributed to her intelligence. this continued until she was fifteen years old and things began to get out of hand. she began discovering the secrets of the order and came to realisation that they were not good people. she discovered the purpose of the order and it was the worst thing she had ever seen. the purpose of the order was to enslave the entire world and hand it over to the one who sent them. Mina did not try to find out more before she stole a ship and ran away. luckily for her, that was before the prophets were able to deduce what her power was. she spent the past three years living off the ship's supplies and robbing unlucky fellas to survive. she spent most of her time at sea in order to avoid getting caught and only came ashore to stock up on supplies. that was how she lived until the present day.

Mina couldn't fully understand how she ended up babbling so much. it was as if she was hit with so much sincerity that she also had to be sincere. when she asked "so where are you headed?" he replied with "I don't really know but I believe you'll take me there" and it was a completely sincere answer.

Mina looked at the in front of her, watching as he playfully paced around the deck and then she said to him "hey, I'm going to call you Yen"

"what?" he said as he stopped and looked at her. and Mina answered him.

"you at least need a name" she said

"and I've decided to call you Yen"

and he accepted his new name.

The conversation ended with Mina saying "how about we go find this destination of yours, I have nothing to do anyway" as she went to set up the sails. "I hope you trust the wind" she said, and suddenly a great wind came upon them as if its purpose was to guide them and they sailed into the distance.

Mina was captivated by Yen's sincerity but that wasn't the only reason she decided that she would accompany. there was the fact that she had nothing to do but that was not the greatest motivation. the greatest motivation was what she deduced from Yen's words. he didn't know where he was going but he was sure that he needed to be there. any such place was to at least be a good place to settle down and at most, be filled with riches and treasures. in other words, she was driven by her pirate instincts.

Mina had high hopes for the journey, but those hopes were shattered when the wind brought them to their destination. she looked at the harbour where the ship had brought them, and in agony she asked "Why have you brought me home?"
