The fated meeting

“…”

“…mister Andrew…you are way too nervous..” The guy said when he realized that Andrew was fidgeting too much.

“W-who won’t! Right?! I mean look! I suddenly got a call from my father that I got engaged to someone!” Andrew retorted while still visibly shaking.

The man shakes his head and holds Andrew’s shoulder.

“Just take a deep breath and relax…”He said.

“Got it…huuuhh…haaaaaah”

As instructed, Andrew takes a deep breath and exhales.

“Good. Right on time. They were here" The man said as he pointed at the entrance.

Two people can be seen entering the restaurant while wearing a neat suit. 

Seeing the two of them, Andrew becomes more anxious and starts fixing his necktie and his hair.

“Ahem..how do I look?” He cleared his throat and asked the agent.

“Perfect, mister Andrew” He bowed his head as he replied.

Andrew nodded multiple times while waiting for the two of them to reach his table.

They reached him in a short time and Andrew was left speechless.

In front of him stood a very beautiful woman that he could never describe with words. She had nice long hair with the face of a model. Her body was small but she stood firmly on her slender legs. 

It was a love at first sight and probably Andrew's first love. He couldn't take his eyes away from her. He was so captivated that he was lost for words.

“Excuse us but are you Andrew?”

The man beside the woman speaks to Andrew out of his stare.

“ah! Yes!! My name is Andrew Robinson! It’s nice to meet you!” Andrew quickly stood and bowed his head to the man.

“Hoh? You were less arrogant than the last guy.” The man said, looking at Andrew while crossing his hand.

“Last guy?”Andrew tilted his head.

“Hoho, you see, my daughter here has a lot of guys chasing after her. That includes some rude guys.”

There was a moment of silence before the realization hit Andrew.

‘He’s the father!’

Andrew started to panic even more. He didn’t think of the possibility that her father would also come. 

Seeing Andrew start to sweat, the agent stands from his seat and points at the two empty seats.

“Why don’t both of you take a seat?” He said.

“Ah, yes! Please do!” Andrew follows his actions and points at the seats.

“So, let’s start with the interview”

After sitting on the chair, the man takes a look at Andrew while intertwining his finger.

“First question…tell me about your status as a student and after you graduate”

Without further delay, the interview started.

The first question is apparently about Andrew’s scholarship. He breathes a sigh of relief and answers him confidently. 

“I’m just an ordinary student in Sanco High. I got an average score of three point seven one”Andrew answered.

For a normal school, three points is considered average but in prestigious schools, the students must reach a score of four and above. That is also the reason why Andrew picks a normal school despite being a child of a famous family.

The man frowned a bit before continuing, “Do you have any experience in working before?”

Andrew was shocked.

‘Was this a marriage interview or a job interview?’

He shook his head and replied.

“I do. I work at the general store near the highschool to get some pocket money. I have 4 years of experience working as a cashier”

Andrew has been working earnestly while hiding the fact that his family is rich. Of course, all of his wealth comes from the hard work of his part time job.

The man nodded his head but was still unsatisfied. 

“What is the greatest amount of money you ever hold?”. He continued with his questions.

Andrew scratches his nose while telling a straight lie.

“Uhm… I think around 5000 UCD”

The greatest amount of money he ever held is nearly a million but all of it was taken away by his family. 

He could only let it pass and focus on the interview.

The man leaned on the chair and crossed his hand again.

“Mhmm, not so impressive”He said. 

He was clearly disappointed.

“You were an average person that coincidentally picked by my father. Haaah, I wonder what he is thinking” the man talked to himself without realizing that he’s speaking out loud.

He may or may not have done it on purpose. 

The man looks at the girl who’s been enjoying her parfait.

“What do you think, Cecilia?”He asked.

The girl looks at her father and then Andrew before shaking her head.

“I don’t like him. Why don’t you understand that I can’t fall in love just by meeting them the first time?” The girl protested as he put another spoon of her parfait into her mouth.

“That’s how I met your mother though”

“That’s not the point!!”

Andrew quietly watches the two of them quarrel. A moment later, a ringtone chimes loudly.

The man reached into his pocket and answered the call. It was his apparently. 

A yell could be heard from the other side of the phone.

[Father!! Grandpa’s condition is worsening!!] 

“What did you say!?”
