UNKNOWN WORLD

The next day, the sound of chattering filled the classroom, making Hailey stand up. After cleaning her eyes, Hailey looked around, realizing people were entering the class. Once again, she hadn't been able to sleep well.

"You look tired." Did you get any sleep at all? " Hailey heard Stella ask in that beautiful British accent of hers.

Nodding her head at Stella, Hailey reassured her about being okay even though she wasn't. What was it like to sleep peacefully? Suddenly, her eyes darted to the door as Mr. Oisin entered the room. Was that his last name?

"Good morning, everyone. Let's start. " "He said."

A few minutes went by and Hailey smiled as she watched him walk across the room, explaining. There was just something about him that made her want to listen.

So others might not believe it, but it is our duty as archaeologists to find the truth and preserve history. In generations to come, others will see it and be happy to know something about the past. " Mr. Oisin said, walking past her.

Duty. In the beginning, others couldn't understand her decision. Even she couldn't understand her decision to become an archaeologist. After spending a few semesters studying, she was able to understand. Why do people risk their lives to preserve history? Without a past, there is no future. What she wanted was to understand the past. To know why certain things are the way they are,

The class ended with a bell ringing, and everyone started packing their things. Stella had rushed out of the class because of her boyfriend. Apparently, they had a date, leaving her to eat alone. Normally, she would rather go to bed on an empty stomach than have to eat alone, but this time, she was just too hungry. Getting up from her seat, Hailey bent slightly, holding her stomach in pain, when she saw a hand stretching out a sweet to her.

"Mr. Oisin?" Hailey asked as she lifted her head, only to see it was Fredrick.

"Mr. Oisin? Why are you looking for him?" Fredrick asked, looking around.

"Nothing. Why are you still in class?" Hailey asked, clenching her hand tightly to her stomach.

"Are you alright?" What's wrong? " Fredrick asked, stepping closer to check what was wrong.

"Is anything the problem?" Hailey heard someone familiar ask.

As if they had read each other's minds, Hailey and Fredrick turned slowly only to see their teacher standing there.

"Mr. Oisin, I didn't hear you walk up. " Fredrick said, placing a hand on his chest out of shock.

"Is everything alright? Hailey? Are you alright? " Mr. Oisin asked to check on her.

I'm alright. Just a little hungry. " Hailey said.

"Really? Why don't you... " Mr. Oisin said, but was cut off.

"Why don't you have dinner with me? That's exactly what I wanted to ask. I just met Stella a few minutes ago, and she told me she was on a date with her boyfriend. I knew you might not want to eat alone. Fredrick said, smiling.

Hailey smiled, glancing between Fredrick and Mr. Oisin. Fredrick asking her out was indeed awkward, but what was even more awkward was the feeling she had. As if Mr. Oisin had wanted to ask her out too.

"You shouldn't be on an empty stomach. Have dinner with your friend. Don't forget to skip the caffeine. So you can have a good night's rest. " Mr. Oisin said, adjusting his glasses.

This was the first time she had seen him wearing glasses, and she had to admit it made him hotter. Upon realizing what she had just thought about, Hailey closed her eyes, giving herself a mental slap. He was her teacher. Even though his beautiful green eyes were almost to die for, he was still her teacher. Not to mention his dark red hair.

"Hailey. Hailey, are you okay? " Hailey heard Fredrick ask, making her turn to look at him.

Fredrick Their relationship was very hard and complicated to explain. They had been friends in the beginning, but later on, they tried to go out with each other. It had been more of an experiment gone wrong. Although the both of them had decided not to be awkward with each other, seeing him being so caring towards her made her feel as if he wasn't completely over the past.

"Here. Have this after dinner. It's milk candy. It will help you sleep. Hailey heard Mr. Oisin say.

Suddenly, her head started spinning, making her vision blurry. His voice It sounded so familiar to her.

Hailey, let's go eat. Look at you. You can hardly stand it. Excuse me, Mr. Oisin. " Fredrick said as he lifted her onto his back, carrying her.

"Call me Othniel." Practically no one calls me Oisin. It's my Irish name. " Hailey heard him say.

"Good night, Mr. Othniel." Fredrick said before leaving.

Even though she felt very weak and dizzy, Hailey raised her head, turning back to gaze at Mr. Othniel (Oisin). He was smiling creepily as he cleaned his glasses, which almost made Hailey gasp in surprise. Glancing up and catching her gaze, Hailey watched as he changed his smile to a sweet one before blowing a kiss at her. This was the last thing she saw before passing out.

A few hours later, Hailey's eyes opened, and she closed her eyes again briefly because of the light. Opening her eyes again, Hailey gazed around her, spotting white walls and blue stripes. Sitting up, Hailey put a hand to her head as she gazed around. Her head still felt woozy, but that wasn't what she was more concerned about.

"Where am I?" Hailey asked, looking down and seeing herself sitting in a hospital bed.

The strong smell of medicine hit her suddenly, making her nauseous. This was why she had run away when others had suggested she study medicine. How could anyone endure the strong smell?

"Hailey, you are up." Hailey heard Fredrick say as he approached her entering inside with a plastic bag.

"You brought food. That's nice. " Hailey said.

"These are all for you." I knew you had insomnia, but I didn't know it was that bad. Let me. " Fredrick said as he helped her lay out the food he had brought.

"Nachos, a Reuben sandwich." Thanks. " Hailey said.

Have some sleep. I will stay here and guard you. " Fredrick said.

Hailey smiled, nodding her head as she lay down to close her eyes. Will the nightmares really not come?

******************************************

A few minutes later, Hailey realized she was wrong. Just like before, she found herself in that place. That desolate locationEverything seemed almost the same as before. Everywhere has been destroyed. Walking slowly across the empty field, Hailey stopped as she gazed far ahead. Her eyes were fixed on the woman she saw. The woman was kneeling down on the ground as if she was under some sort of punishment.

"Hello. Hey, are you okay? " Hailey asked, approaching the woman.

Suddenly, Hailey jerked back as she watched the woman raise her head. The mysterious woman still looked like she was off on vacation. She hadn't acknowledged her presence, which made Hailey bend down to check what was wrong with her.

Excuse me, what is wrong? "Aaaaaahhhh!" Hailey screamed as she saw the woman gaze intensely at her.

Her eyes seemed teary as she stared at Hailey. Was she crying? With shaking hands, Hailey moved to shift her beautiful white hair out of her face. The woman's beautiful blue eyes stared further into an empty space. She didn't look too old at all. They were probably more or less the same age. What was she doing here?

"What is this place?" Hailey asked herself as she stood up, slowly looking around.

Just like before, that man appeared. The man she was always seeing in her dreams. Unlike the woman beside her, his gaze didn't look out of it. He looked as if he was staring straight at her, giving Hailey goosebumps. Suddenly, the white-haired woman lifted her hand, pointing at the man.

"Give her back to me!" Hailey heard her scream in tears.

Turning to the man, Hailey saw him smile, and she felt it was familiar. Although the appearance looked different, the smile felt the same. The same as the one she had seen Mr. Othniel do. They were almost the same.

"Hailey! Hailey! Hailey, stand up! " Hailey heard someone call her.

Looking around her, Hailey tried searching for the voice but couldn't see the person. The sound got stronger. The call for her name Putting a hand to her head, Hailey bent down, holding her head. Was she going crazy? Slowly, everything started to disappear before her eyes. A few seconds later, her eyes opened to the real world.

"Hailey, thank God." Hailey heard Fredrick say as he sighed.

Glancing around her, Hailey struggled to remember where she was. Yes. Fainted. She had fainted and had been brought here by Fredrick.

Do you want to talk about it? I think you should. If you want help, Fredrick said, gazing at her softly.

Help. Could she finally find help?

A few minutes later, Hailey gazed around the room, searching as if she was looking for something. Actually, she didn't know where to start. Would he believe her? Or will he call her crazy? Although she was accepted to tell him everything, her subconscious was stalling for time.

"Hailey. Maybe it's psychological. I need to talk or I can't help you. If you feel you cannot trust me, then why don't I set an appointment for you to see a psychiatrist? " Frederick asked.

"Nooooo. It's okay. I can tell you. It's better than telling a complete stranger I do not know. I don't know if I am truly going crazy or if my dreams are truly PTSD. I do not know. But ever since my mother died, That night I started having these strange dreams. I had dreams that didn't seem to make sense to me. The feeling of being in a place that seemed unfamiliar, being alone, that's what scared me. " Hailey said, putting her hair behind her ears.

"It's okay. You are not alone. You have me, Stella, and all your friends who love you. " Frederick said, putting a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.

"Well, I can't tell the others about my crazy dreams." Hailey said laughing at her own joke.

"It's true you can't. But you can tell me. I am here to listen. Just like old times." Fredrick said smiling.
