Future self

Standing on the busy streets again, a man looked in a certain direction and sighed.

Even as the people moved past him, no one could see him as though he did not exist.

"its been a long time but it seems that some things never change." as the man

To Huang, a few eras back then, he had been a citizen of this mortal world.

A man with dreams and even after graduating from university had pondered over the route to take.

As technological graduate he had many prospects but once he found himself involved in schemes from 'gods'.

After coming back to this world it was indeed time for him to settle some karma with them.

He looked at another direction and couldn't help but smile.

"I guess I found the last one. After this I should indeed contact the others and agree to their conditions." for someone at his level he did not care about the so called karma, he just wanted to settle them.

Mortals in this world were not toys in the hands of bored individuals.

That being the point he immediately put them as a target to get rid of to avoid others ending up like them.

Over the years based on his understanding, no one could escape from their hands. Using others to sharpen themselves, is something he was almost involved in.

As he was about to leave he looked at this world one last time, remembering his helpless self back then.

His soul had been thrown into another cosmos, there he had to struggle from the bottom to reach his current realm where he could even visit his home cosmos.

Having been able to go to the place was indeed not just something to do with him alone.

Many individuals seem to have been involved, there fates were way better compared to him.

When he moved to another cosmos he had by accident entred the reincarnation bridge. It can be said to be the biggest chance he had.

He thus had his soul being clensed from everything and even the cheat he had arrived with was lost in the place.

It was also the luckiest he had been as thst cheat was more like a chain that could choke one in the future.

He only retained his memories and since he had not died before being draged into this cosmos, he could tell something was not right.

On the reincarnation bridge, all his privileges were striped during his crossing of the bridge and he even started as a baby.

Unbnownst to him, this was the biggest gain he had over everyone else.

He was also sent to a smaller world, that he had to struggle slowly to rise up.

Back then, he was not as excited as most characters but he knew clearly about chances to live longer after the reincarnation bridge incident.

He had never expected the privileges stripped away from him had the moment he entered the underworld river and his soul washed would result in such a conflict.

It was also among the reasons he could escape from the reincarnation pool with his memories and be reborn.

The same time, his soul was indeed lucky to be abke to have no issues of occupying another body.

Thinking back he sighed, the memories of his past are important and something that groomed the current self.

Looking at how his former world had not changed much and the trend seemed to be the same despite technology being slightly better.

He thought of his family, in the past he had worked hard and could now be capable of fulfilling some of his regrets.

"I think it's time to take that step first. At the end of the day I managed to escape buy they would not be very relieved if they learned of my presence. I have limited time now." as he spoke to himself he had already arrived near the chaotic void.

This place was deemed the most dangerous and only those that had achieved a certain realm could manage to cross it.

Even the strongest in the existing universes lack the ability to do it.

He guessed that all the scheming by tjose existsnces was to create an opportunity to cross over.

"This place is indeed somewhere I should visit only when my capability surpasses them." as he mentioned them, he had a complicated emotion.

To him, the individuals even though they are good at sheming, are responsible for him reaching his current realm.

Without pushing his soul into the other world how could he reincarnate and stsrt to cultivate.

He however was not the indisive type and if they attacked him in the future he might not even think twice before taking them on.

He was taking his time because he needed to enter the next realm but he was not sure it would be safe to do it anywhere.

Only a certain forbidden region could be suitable and the opprtunites there could also allow him to improve faster even after breakthrough.

He thus was waiting for the right time to enter the place.

He heard rumors about no one being able to come back but from the map he got, the place seemed to have many opportunities.

A few eras back then, Azure star, in the Tang empire.

At the time, the demonic cults were rampant, and thus families would occasionally experience slaughter.

A pregnant wife and her husband were forced to move to an area managed by a branch of a major sect in Nanjin.

In the Nanjin city, the security might not be the best but it was considered something.

The family bought some property and started some business too.

In the same year Huang was born into the strange world.

At this time his soul was somehow stronger than that of normal children and he could akso somehow understand what was being said.

Unlike normal children he did not cry when he was born, he started to talk and walk earlier.

Thankfully due to the status of the family being small, it was not deemed much.

At the age of five he learned how to write from his mother and he even wondered how his old man managed to marry such a woman.

He did not speak that out loud thoughz he spend his time trying to understand his current circumstances.

But over the years he heard talk of Demonic cults and sects.

At this time he had already grasped some aspects of this world..

For instance the status of sects in the world.

All the countries present had some connections to a sect, or sects stood above nations.

The relationship seems to be if subordinates as all the kings are from sects.

Those disciples that fail to accomplish certain cultivation within a set timeline receive some tasks in the mortal world.

Becoming an official is among the most common and thus kings are assigned such responsibilities from the sects they come from.

The sects also have numerous branches each in a city, that recruits disciples every two years.

The most important criteria for recruitment is age and cultivation talent.

The cities each have a common publized technique. To be able to reach great accomplishment is what is used to gauge.

Most importantly, the techniques inneach city are variables of the same, amd those that reach perfection on the technique get privileges when recruitment is done.

In the end of the day, the developement of disciples in the city sect branches determines their chance to enter main sect.

Those with high cultivation seem to have more authority and even responsibility.

Cultivation however is not easy based on his understanding of the situation as the number of mortals is extremely high.

But at the end of day less cultivators are available and thus, sects have many cities to give protect mortals but also pick talents among them.

It is also a crime to supress any talent since the future of sects and humans depend on it.
