Chapter 10

Lucian couldn't believe the government is ready and the public isn't aware. "It's unlikely to create tension" Lucian Murmured.

"Are you Lucian Matis?" His sorrow was interrupted by a harsh voice.

"Yes, may I assist you?" To be honest, Lucian was a little irritated by the guy who had just interrupted him and was about to say something like, 'Where are your manners?' but after seeing the guys' serious business appearance, he immediately lessened his resentment.

A large man dressed in a black suit and wearing black sunglasses stood in front of him. He had a tight expression on his face. Two more men, who stood like his subordinates, were following him. They were both dressed in a similar manner to him. The severe domineer that loomed around them, though, made Lucian take them more seriously.

"Greetings, Mr. Lucian; your services are required elsewhere. Please accompany me. We won't be able to say anything in this room."

The man turned around and walked towards the elevator, which was not far away.

Lucian looked at the man's back with bemusement, but it didn't last long since he realized they were about to be sent into the virtual lab for preparation, and the only explanation he could think of for him being summoned away is because of his previous experience in a similar universe.

"Mister Lucian, It was said that you had visited this world before." Lucian smiled and nodded. 'As predicted' is a phrase that can be used to describe a situation.

"By the way, my name is Agent Franklin, and I'm the operation's manager." "You may address me as mister Franklin."

" Presumably, the manifestation of a huge threat to Earth has resulted from the construction of the crack, which connects Earth to the dark universe. This mission has evolved into a weapon that is humanity's only hope of surviving the impending onslaught."

"After listening to Agent Franklin, Lucian remarked as though he had just understood.

"I see now what mister Franklin just said is the logical thing that should be expected." Following the appearance of the looming menace on Earth, the world government will undoubtedly assume responsibility for anything that poses a treath to humanity."

The elevator came to a standstill, and the doors opened to reveal a tiny path with two rows of doors on both sides. As they exited the elevator, mister Franklin stated, "ahh, we are finally here."

They strolled across the rooms for a while before coming to a halt in front of a room with the words 'general lab' inscribed on it.

Mister Franking placed his hands on a green screen on the wall beside the door, and once his fingerprints were scanned and authenticated, the door gently crept open, allowing him admission.

Lucian was immediately absorbed in analyzing the lab's interior, which had a complex and convoluted structure. His gaze traced a tangle of connections that all connected to a group of robots that specialized in some sort of task.

"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, Mister Franklin raised his voice.

"Ah, it's Lucian Matis, . I've been expecting you." Lucian looked at an eager man in a white lab coat with shaggy funky gray hair and unusual over-exerted lips that drew a very wide smile after hearing the startling outburst. Before he called out, he appeared to be operating with a microscope. It was a familiar face when he raised his head.

"The scientist," Lucian exclaimed, surprised.

"Lab freak, as you requested, I brought him here."" Mr. Franklin stated.

"Take excellent care of Lucian," Mr. Franklin stated. He pushed Lucian forward slightly. He then turned around and walked out of the door.

"Now that you're with him, Mister Lucian, you don't have to worry about the freak harming you." The governments of the world have already marked you." His voice came from behind him.

"All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right "Don't be surprised," says the scientist With a frightening smirk, the scientist said to Lucian.

"Who the hell are you? What is the purpose of this operation? "Can you tell me why you brought me here?" Lucian inquired, his domineering demeanor giving way to directness. He wasn't expecting to see the scientist, so he wants to get on with things right now.

Hearing what he stated, the scientist proudly placed his hand on his chest and declared. "My name is Doctor John Columbus, and I'm the director of Earth's Defense Station. Are you honored to meet me officially?"

With a shocked expression, Lucian looked at the scientist. "That face, that look, it's exactly what Iexpected; I'm sure you're astounded to find me here. I'm the last person you'd expect to see here." This time, Lucian remained silent. He simply fixed his stare on the scientist.

"Can you tell me what this is all about now?" Lucian suddenly relaxed. "Did you get it? Can you tell me what you're talking about? The same reason you fabricated the proof was to hasten my arrival here. I'm aware of that; isn't that your intention?." As his stare sharpened, Lucian announced.

"You were the only one who was interested in me all this time!., you are the root of my discomfort!" Lucian completed his final remark with a loud voice, his fingers tightened even more.

"Calm down, mister Lucian, it's not as bad as you think; I just happened to overhear your conversation with Synder. It aided in the advancement of our research as well as the identification of personnel who are best suited for the work at hand." Eddy attempted to calm Lucian's nerves.

"It isn't what I believe?" Because you've been unto me since before then, it's far worse than I imagine. I also assume it wasn't by chance that you overheard our talk; how did you learn about me? "Give me a reason for this right now!!" Lucian was adamant.

"All right, all right!" "Every single one of your accusations is correct." In a reassuring tone, the scientist stated.

"But not precisely,"

"I expect an explanation, not whether they're true or not." Lucian shot back.

"Okay, it all began three years ago when the dark universe news continued to hack all stations. The government established a body to look into what was going on. I was able to unearth some evidence that suggests that thousands of people are stuck in this universe, and that if investigation continues, the risks that the earth faces will be revealed.

The incident was so unexpected, and the consequences were so unknown, that the research was halted. The government, on the other hand, organized a secret study team and appointed me as its director."

"However, despite a month of inquiry, no additional hint could be uncovered other than the conclusion that the tragedy caused by the dark universe could be nothing more than a fairytale."

"Many scholars gave up on the research since they couldn't discover anything no matter how hard they looked, and this was mostly due to government pressure. But I never gave up trying; it became an obsession for me because I believed that if it were true, the human casualties would be severe, and I saw it as my responsibility to do everything in my power to preserve the earth from this tragedy."

"When the previous research team was disbanded, I took up their work in order to get to the bottom of everything. After searching for a long time without finding any leads, I overheard your conversation and realized that the only person who could help me finish my research was you, the lone guardian who had previously visited a mysterious world and refused to be trapped like the others who had been discovered by the research.

"When I checked your records while you were in coma, my interest in you grew exponentially, and I immediately instructed my assistant to run a few searches on you to study you clearly, and what I discovered instead of the original answers I sought, was how extraordinary your consciousness became, it was something beyond even science's explanation, it was simply, magnificent."

"Can you tell me what it is?" Lucian, who had been silent the entire time, suddenly spoke up. He was especially interested in this research because the reason he'd been so lost, the reason he'd come here and purposefully pressed the scientist to spill the beans, was to learn more about it. Lucian is hoping that what is about to be disclosed would answer all of his questions regarding why and how he reincarnated into this world.

"Your consciousness is extremely strong, virtually on par with that of most individuals. Furthermore, we discovered something remarkable in your record; I'm not sure what it is, but it's made up of an extraordinarily pure quintessence of electricity."

"There seemed to be this fuzzy silhouette of an anonymous entity in the very depths of your mind in the soul vision beam." Allow me to demonstrate." Eddy beckoned as he walked over to a visual projector and pressed the power button.

A projection screen appeared out of nowhere, displaying an image that tore Lucian's mind apart. A blurry scene of his ethereal consciousness appeared in front of him, containing a small warped patch in which Lucian observed faint runes that he had seen before in his previous planet.

"This... This... This... This... This... This... This... This... This... This... This... This... When Lucian saw the vista, he was speechless and shocked on the inside, but he struggled psychologically to believe it. Everything made sense now; he had arrived in this realm to prepare for the dark universe. The mission to defeat the dark lightning dragon was intended to prepare him for the rest of the voyage. But why is that? Why would he have to have a terrible accident and then be in a coma for over three years? "..

"You don't have to be too concerned about your prior experiences, Mr Lucian; they've been more beneficial to you than harmful?" Eddy spoke up beside him, calmly, as if Lucian had been this shocked as a result of the finding.

Despite his best efforts, Lucian found it difficult to return to reality.

"I'm doing fine."

"OK, if you agree, then I'll move on to the second and most important reason why I wanted you here.”

"You see, after the discovery of the world beyond the crack, the researchers rushed to investigate the world as if they had discovered a new toy, and there, discoveries were made that show that not only is it a magical world similar to the one you've been to before, but it also contains existence who wield magical powers equivalent to it; however, these discoveries put the earth in a difficult position, as the explorers have proven that inhabitants of that world can in fact wield magical powers equivalent. As a result, the earth needed to strengthen in order to avoid being vulnerable.

"Afterwards, researchers went insane looking for ways to accomplish nothing until someone had a brilliant idea, he thought, because the world beyond the space crack is the same as the one you've been in, then this gives us an advantage in preparing recruits who will volunteer on behalf of Earth."

"Using this concept as a foundation, a number of researchers attempted to replicate the dark universe and, as a result, reincarnate them in this world and prepare them for the dark universe."

" Despite the fact that the recruits are unaware of all of this. This, however, is how we want to save the world."

"In order to carry out the plan, electronic and technological scientists from all over the world came together in splendid virtual cooperation and collaborated on a project we termed the Earth's Protection System."

" The system's concept was to d******d the dark universe's research and encode it onto a chip that would be implanted in a host's brain and perform the same function as the dark universe.

" when the host was in the world beyond the space crack. "Did you make it?" When Eddy went silent as he reminisced, Lucian inquired.

"Yes, we were able to develop something fifty percent akin to the dark universe with me in charge, and the programs were seventy percent in accordance with your description." This is why the governments have placed me in command of this laboratory."

"As a result of our success, everyone who signs up for the adventure to become Earth's Defenders today must have an earth defending system that will help them grow and thrive in the future."

"As for you, the singularity of your awareness compelled me to put in extra effort to create the only chip, the only system that I believe will be compatible with your consciousness."

"Is it because of this method that you required everyone to volunteer freely and that you required me?" With a scrutinizing look on his face, Lucian said.

"Yes, I needed to study you more in order to effectively construct a system suitable with your consciousness, which is why I was forced to bring you up here to inform you of the stakes"

"I'm not sure what you get out of going to all this trouble to assist me in building the system?" More hope for the planet, and, most significantly, more specialization in my profession. Now, since you now know what you need to know, let's get down to business. We don't have much time, and one of those government dogs could walk in at any moment. I need to implant the system into your brain. I don't want them to sabotage our plans in any way." Eddy encouraged Lucian on as he began to manipulate the robot in front of him.
