Chapter 6: Find a Way to Harm!

"Mr. Thomas, it's been a year. You can't just revoke like this!"

Edward, who had a share in this fifty million USD, immediately said: "Mister Thomas, integrity is crucial in business. You're the head of the Thomas family, yet you behave like this. What kind of credibility will you have in the future?"

"Fifty million USD, I give you two days to prepare together if you can't, use your company and mansion to offset the debt! Of course, you can try other tactics to make me concede. I, Devlin, am prepared for it all!"

Devlin was adamant in his stance, but when he turned to Jonathan, he asked with some hesitation: "Young Wang, what do you think?"

He did this because he wanted to figure out Orla's actions, deliberately wanting to help Young Wang reclaim his assets, hoping that this could earn Young Wang's forgiveness.

Young Wang might not necessarily care about the company and this mansion, but they were still his properties, which outsiders should not touch.

"Jonathan, please plead with Mister Thomas for us, don't make us repay the fifty million USD! Jonathan, I beg you!"

"Out of respect for our marital status, please help me!"

Orla could only implore Jonathan when facing the Thomases' enormous influence.

"It's none of my business."

Jonathan didn't care. He said: "Prepare the divorce papers yourself, pick a time, and then we'll divorce."

After saying that, he had nothing to stay for and left the mansion.

What belonged to him, he would take it all from Orla.

"Remember, you only have two days!" Devlin didn't stay either, leaving behind these words before swiftly following Jonathan.

The three in the living room were left in complete disarray.

They would have to mortgage all their assets if they couldn't produce the fifty million USD within two days.

After leaving the mansion, Devlin hastily followed Jonathan: "Young Wang, wait for me!"

"What's the matter?"

Jonathan stopped, took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, and lit one.

Knowing that young Wang disliked idle talk, Devlin went straight to the point: "Young Wang, this time, my intention in making Orla repay the fifty million USD is to recover your assets!"

"I've noticed."

The weight of the Thomas family was evident. They wouldn't tarnish the Thomas family's reputation by over fifty million USD.

It must be because of him.

Devlin didn't dare ask young Wang for forgiveness, and this matter had to proceed gradually.

He said: "Young Wang, I remember you once said that my daughter Neala's leukemia is not incurable, right?"

Jonathan said: "Yes, I have a way to save Neala."

Hearing this, Devlin was overjoyed. Someone like young Wang couldn't possibly make rash statements.

If young Wang said he could save her, he certainly could!

"I beg you, young Wang, because of Neala's good treatment of Carla, please save my daughter! The idea to buy Miss Carla to donate bone marrow was mine. If young Wang is angry, let me, Devlin, bear it alone!"

Upon seeing Devlin's desperate plea, Jonathan felt somewhat moved. Being a father himself, he could understand the deep love that Devlin held for his daughter.

What he couldn't comprehend, though, was how Orla could be so heartless towards her flesh and blood.

Yet, being moved did not mean he would help. If he hadn't arrived in time yesterday, Carla would have already been subjected to bone marrow extraction for Neala.

The fact that he had not taken action against the Thomas family was already his most extraordinary leniency.

He had initially planned to refuse outright, but remembering that Carla genuinely cared for Thomas's daughter, he didn't dismiss the request outright.

He said: "I will consider it."

...

In the William Mansion.

A nervous Orla hurriedly asked, seeing her father return: "Dad, did you hear anything? What exactly happened that made Devlin so deferential to Jonathan?"

Why would Mr. Thomas, a prominent figure in Elite Summit, show such respect to a recently released ex-convict?

Marcus smugly replied: "Of course, I heard clearly. Jonathan is a scam artist!"

"A scam artist?"

Orla wasn't the only one who found this hard to believe. Edward also shared the sentiment.

How could a scam artist make Devlin hand Carla back to him, let alone earn such reverence as if he was a respected elder?

"Devlin is showing such respect to Jonathan because Jonathan sweet-talked him into believing he could cure Neala's illness! With Neala's disease, even if Carla's marrow were transplanted, it wouldn't completely cure her. Yet Jonathan claimed he could! Knowing that Jonathan could save his daughter, how could Mr. Thomas not respect him?"

Orla was still somewhat skeptical: "Is that true or false? Why wasn't I aware that Jonathan knew medicine?"

"Do you think I would deceive you? I did eavesdrop on Mr. Thomas and Jonathan's conversation! In the end, Jonathan mysteriously said, 'I will consider it.' He doesn't know a thing about medicine and is just tricking Mr. Thomas to win his support!" Marcus voiced with a tone of intense disapproval.

Upon hearing this, Edward's eyes brightened, speaking in a sinister tone: "If that's the case, we have nothing to worry about. We need to tell Mr. Thomas that Jonathan knows absolutely nothing about medicine. We don't need to deal with Jonathan ourselves. Mr. Thomas won't spare him!"

Marcus hesitated, expressing his worry: "It might be troublesome. Jonathan may have learned some tricks in prison and could fake his medical prowess convincingly. If I hadn't known him well, knowing that the brat doesn't know a thing about medicine, I would've almost believed that he could save Neala! It might be difficult to make Mr. Thomas believe us."

Edward pondered momentarily, then his face became wicked: "We just need to find a way to send Jonathan back to prison. Mr. Thomas will believe us then. Didn't he want us to return the fifty million dollars? We will offer Carla again for the marrow transplantation in exchange for nine hundred million dollars from him!"

"Nine hundred million dollars?"

This figure made Marcus and Orla's eyes shine brightly, their gaze becoming fervid. However, when they calmed down, their spirits dropped.

By putting Jonathan in prison, perhaps Mr. Thomas would trust them.

But the problem was, how could they send Jonathan to jail when he was minding his own business?

If Edward said so, he must undoubtedly have a plan.

He took a moment of grave silence before declaring: "There is a way indeed, but we need Harding William for this!"

Harding William is Orla's younger brother. Years ago, Jonathan took the blame for Harding.

In a curious tone, the two asked: "What's the method?"

"Well, here it is..."

Upon hearing Edward's plan, the father-daughter duo smiled maliciously.

If this plan were executed, Jonathan would undoubtedly land in prison again!

"Jonathan, it's your fault for being unaware, don't blame me for being ruthless!" Orla's face was full of ferocity.
