The Trial Ends

Taking a few steps back, Caesar’s plan was indeed tricky to read. His last-moment movement would have confused anyone, leaving them momentarily stunned with no time to defend or dodge. The same went for Finnian. He was taken by surprise by the sudden change in Caesar’s movement. Nonetheless, the plan remained the same; attack from his blind side.

Finnian had approached his opponent with this thought at the back of his mind and had put forth a lot to stimulate his senses on his left side to react quickly to the threat of attack. What stunned him more wasn’t the pattern of the attack itself, but the proximity with which the attack was executed. For a moment, he’d thought maybe Caesar was indeed going to attack from his field of vision.
