Will You Marry My Daughter?

Alexander and his wife looked at Kenneth, who was eating so fast because he seemed so hungry.

After a few minutes, Alexander asked, "Would you like to add to the food?"

"Sir, is that okay?"

"Yes, yes, you can order as much food as you want."

Kenneth didn't think twice before ordering another plate of food. Kenneth was still being watched by Alexander. The man in front of him was pretty, but his skin was dirty, which might have been because he lived on the streets.

Alexander asked, "Where is your house?"

Kenneth said, "I don't have a home."

"Don't you have any family either?"

"My mother died, so I live by myself now."

"You're a brave young man, and you're also good at martial arts. Do you want to get married to my daughter? "

"Cough, cough, cough," As soon as Kenneth heard Alexander's last word, he started to choke up.

Not only was Kenneth surprised by the question, but Sherly was also very surprised by what her husband had just said.

Sherry asked, "Honey, what did you say?"

Alexander said, "I think he's the right person for Quella to marry. So, what do you say, Kenneth? Are you interested in marrying my daughter?"

"What do you mean, Sir? I don't get it at all. "

"I have a daughter. Her name is Quella Veronica Charlotte. Quella is a very, very pretty girl. But, alas, her lover broke up with her after a year. Two days before their wedding, that jerk had an affair with another woman. It feels really sad. Since then, she hasn't left her room and doesn't want to meet anyone, much less new people. I want you to make her happy again the way she was," Alexander said.

Kenneth didn't say anything because he was still trying to figure out what the man meant.

“I'll give you $100,000,000 if you can make Quella happy again within six months. And if you don't succeed in those six months, I'll just give you a million dollars. You won't get hurt in any way. My daughter is living like she did before," Alexander went on.

Kenneth's eyes got big when he heard how little Alexander was willing to pay. If you fail, you will receive a million dollars, and if you succeed, you will receive a hundred million dollars.Kenneth thought it was a lot. He was only asked to marry a girl, after all. Isn't it a great deal to get married and get paid at the same time?

So, Kenneth didn't think twice before nodding his head. "Yes, sir," said Kenneth when he heard the offer.

Alexander gave a small smile. "Good, then you can come straight home with me after lunch."

Kenneth was also in a hurry to finish his lunch. It looked like he didn't need to eat much that afternoon, either, because he knew his next meal would be safe. How could he not? He will marry the daughter of Mr. Alexander, who is very wealthy.

"First, you can rest, and don't forget to clean up.” When Alexander returned home, he told Kenneth that he would marry him to his daughter the next day, "Waiter! Get this man a room and some clothes."

Kenneth was taken to a room by a group of male servants. Alexander's house was very big, and it might have been almost as big as Winston's. So, Kenneth has to go through a few rooms before he can get to the room that has been set aside for him.

Kenneth stopped in a room when he saw a picture of his family on the wall. In the picture, Mr. Alexander, Mrs. Sherly, and a beautiful girl are all shown. Kenneth said to himself in a low voice, "He must be the one whose name is Quella. Very pretty." When Kenneth looked at the picture, he smiled when he saw the beautiful face of a girl. During this time, Kenneth thought Luna was the most beautiful girl he had ever met, but Quella was much more attractive than Luna. Right away, Kenneth got more and more excited about marrying the girl.

Sherly was talking about how unhappy she was with what her husband had done earlier in her room.

"My husband, what are you really thinking? Why did you let that homeless man marry your own daughter? I think you've really lost your mind!" Sherly laughed at him.

"Calm down, my wife. Kenneth and Quella's wedding will be different from what you think a wedding is like. I told Kenneth to marry Quella so the man could help Quella get better.”

“How on earth could he heal Quella? Even Quella's shrink gave up on her. Also, Quella is not crazy, she's just acting like she is."

“Because of that, one of the reasons I want to marry Quella is to show people that she is not crazy. The fact that people still want to marry her is proof of that. We have tried many things to get Quella to live like she used to, but we have never been able to do it. So, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't try it this way. Can you understand why Quella keeps locking herself in that room? Can you hear how crazy people think Quella is?"

"I'm a mom, and I hurt so much every time. I see Quella looking gloomy in her room. But I also don't want Quella to marry that bum. I can't imagine Quella sleeping in the same bed as a homeless person and having sex with that person," she said.

"Calm down, my wife. Kenneth won't touch Quella. Tomorrow, I'll write that into the wedding contract. Honey, it's only for six months. Trust me." Alexander looked into Sherly's eyes to put his wife's mind at ease.

Sherly seemed to be choking on her own saliva, and her heart still didn't accept it, but in the end, she agreed with her husband's decision. "Honey, I hope it works this time," Sherly said in a whisper. As a parent, all she wants is for her daughter to be happy.

***

After sleeping on the streets for a month, Kenneth was finally able to get a good night's sleep on the soft mattress. When he woke up, his body felt completely refreshed. This was especially true after he soaked in a warm bath.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

When the doorbell rang, Kenneth, who was still wearing a towel, ran to open it.

A servant told him, "Mr. Alexander has been waiting for you."

"Fine. I'll soon be ready to go see him."

Kenneth shut the door once more. He put on the clothes that had been put in the closet for him. When he met Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Sherly that morning, Kenneth wore a shirt and coat, which made him look very nice.

"Sit down!" Alexander told Kenneth to sit on the other side of him.

“I've made a contract for you and my daughter to get married. I've also put some conditions in this contract, which you should read carefully before you sign it," said Alexander.

Kenneth also looked at the map on the piece of paper that was given to him. Alexander sets a rule that while Kenneth is married to Quella, he can't hurt Quella in any way, either physically or verbally. Alexander also wouldn't let Kenneth get involved in other family matters, let alone his business. Kenneth could understand some of the points of the requirement, but there was one point that made him frown.

"Excuse me, sir, but can you explain the fourth point?" Kenneth asked Alexander.

“As long as you're married to Quella, you can't sleep with her or have sex with her. Because you're just a son-in-law who gets paid. You have no right to touch my daughter."

When Kenneth heard those insulting words, his ears turned red and his eyes got hot. At first, Kenneth thought that the Alexanders liked him more than the Winstons. But none of them are different.

But Kenneth couldn't fight back against Alexander this time. He had to agree to everything on this list. At this point, Kenneth has to put his pride aside. The most important thing is for him to get the money he needs to stay alive and get revenge for all the pain he's going through.

Kenneth also put his name on the contract.
