Chapter 7

His remark made Aisha silent. That silence flowed for a while.

It was awkward. The situation became awkward.

“Anyway, Belle give me that sword.” He said.

Belle looked at him and gave him the sword.

“When you swung the sword a crack appeared in the ground. Do you want to see what happens when I do that?” He said with a smirk.

It was something everyone wanted to know. Just how strong is he?

“Hey Selene, this might hurt a bit. But I’ll listen to you later.” He said. His eyes were serious and also apologetic.

Selene first didn’t understand. But then he pointed at the moon and she knew it.

“Don’t do it.” Selene screamed.

But he swung the sword in the moon’s direction. A violent gale appeared. Blowing everything away and a black slash could be seen.

That slash headed to the moon and only a few seconds later the moon was cut in half.

Everyone looked up at the moon and stared at with half open mouth. They had disbelief written all over their faces.

However the moon was cut in half and Selene was bleeding. When the girls noticed this they rushed over to her side.

Seeing that, he snapped his fingers and the moon was back in one piece. Even Selene stopped bleeding.

“Sorry Selene. Did that hurt?” He asked with a worried face. He was truly apologetic about what he did just now. His face was gloomy.

“A bit. But you fixed it. I’ll make you pay.” Selene was not angry. Rather she was kinda oddly happy and said that with a mischievous tone.

“I’ll make it up to you.” He said clenching his hand.

“I like your honesty and sincerity. But you are not completely sincere.” Selene pouted and faced the other way.

The girls who witnessed something of that level didn’t say anything.

But voices could be heard. They were mumbling something in a low voice.

And with that Aisha coughed and said,

“What was that?”

“That was me using a heavenly arms with a minimal amount of power.” He said.

“That was minimal. Then your full power?” Aisha wondered about that.

“The sword would break. I can destroy the earth with brute strength alone. I don’t need weapons or magic. So you can imagine that.” He said.

His eyes were full of regret after what he did. He was not cheerful anymore.

“Why don’t you go and rest? I have something to talk to them.” Selene suggested.

“Ok. I will be in the intermediate plane. Call me when you are done. I will visit Pluto.”

He said and left.

“Fuuh. Now he’s gone.” Selene let out a sigh of relief.

“But why were you bleeding?” Belle asked.

She woke up from her daze. Others also woke up.

“I was bleeding because he cut my avatar. The moon in the sky is my avatar. So destroying it would hurt me too.” Selene explained.

“Also what was with his wavering tone. Like he fell in utter despair after hurting you.” This was asked by Mizuki.

“That’s just him. He dislikes hurting people. So he is probably sulking heavily and complaining to Pluto.”

Selene smiled as she envisioned him in a sulky manner.

“So he is still the same.” Momoko made that comment.

“Yes. No matter what he is still the same. That normal boy Akatsuki who died twice and became the all powerful.” Selene said.

It is ironic as to how his both lives ended.

“But why did he go to Pluto?” Selene asked herself.

“What? Who is Pluto?” Aisha asked.

“Oh. The current human religion doesn’t worship Pluto. Pluto is the god of death and ruler of Hades. Once you die, your soul will pass through him to the underworld.” Selene explained.

“So the god of death. How come we never heard of him?” Leah asked.

“Because he is the god of death. Humans tend to look away or forget unpleasant things. He is death. So humans fear him and tried to erase him from history.”

That is true. Humanity is curious by nature but also cowardly. They tend to look away from things that they don’t like.

“Mizuki, let me ask you something? How much do you think you know about him?” Selene asked.

“Why the sudden question?”

Indeed it was sudden.

“No. Just answer.” She pushed her to answer.

“My big brother who is two years older than me.” She normally answered.

“Two years older is right. But not your big brother.”

“What? What do you want to say?” Mizuki opened her eyes.

“Just ask him. He’ll say so.” Selene brushed it off and told her to ask him.

However Mizuki was in utter confusion. One remark made her uneasy.

“Aisha, how much do you think you can believe him?”

This time she asked Aisha.

“I trust him. But something still feels off.” Aisha said. Belle and Leah nodded too.

“Keep that. It will help you.” Selene said like giving them a heads up.

“Lastly Momoko, what did you actually do? I don’t know and he didn’t say anything.” She asked Momoko.

Momoko frowned at this. Somehow it reminded her of the things that happened.

“You all heard that he tried to rape me, right?” Momoko asked.

“Yes.” Everyone answered at the same time.

“It’s not entirely wrong. The fact that I was about to be raped. Just the person was different.” She said with a sad look.

“A different person you say.” Selene wondered.

“Yes. Another man was trying to rape me. I was being pushed down by that man and he saved me. But others saw it like he was trying to rape me. That’s how the rumor started.”

“You didn’t say anything?” Selene asked.

“I did. I said that it was someone else who did it. But nobody believed it because it was a teacher who did it. He pulled strings from behind and circulated the rumor.”

“How despicable. A teacher trying to do that.” Aisha lashed out in disgust.

“He didn’t say anything?” Selene asked.

“No. In fact he admitted it. He took on the crime and declared himself as a rapist. It made me so angry that I didn’t save him.” Momoko said.

Her eyes had tears in them. She was on the verge of tears when talking about these.

“So he really did nothing instead took on a crime he didn’t commit.” Selene surmised.

“Why did he do that?” Mizuki asked.

Indeed, why did he do that? This question was bothering everyone.

“But who killed him?” Selene asked.

“I don’t know. He said that someone pushed him down onto the train line.” Aisha said.

“He mentioned him being your boyfriend.” Belle said while looking at Momoko.

Momoko was surprised and puzzled at the same time.

“My boyfriend. But I don’t have a boyfriend.” She said.

“What? Someone like you didn’t have a boyfriend.” Mizuki said.

“Someone like me? What do you mean by that?” Momoko looked at her with a twitching face.

“I mean someone beautiful like you should have a boyfriend or two.” Mizuki said like it was the norm.

“Indeed. I thought you were really popular.” This time Selene said and Aisha and co nodded.

“I did get confessed to a lot. But I turned them all down.” Momoko shyly said.

“Why? Did you have someone else?” Selene mischievously asked.

“Well….” She was blushing when thinking about that.

“I see.” Everyone said in unison.

“But what did you see in him?” Mizuki asked.

She meant Akatsuki.

“I have been together with him since childhood. I have always loved him. So I was always waiting for him to confess to me.”

She said while blushing.

“But he never did. Instead after entering high school he started avoiding me. For some reason he had a wrong idea.” This time her voice was filled with irritation.

“I guess he never changes.” Selene sighed and said.

“In his first life in this world, his dream was getting married and leading a happy life.”

It’s true that he only had this one dream.

“However he went to war and died. After dying for a second time, he gave that dream up and wanted only peace.”

“So he wanted to get married.” Momoko said.

“Yes. He had a girl in mind. She was a common girl. Not too beautiful but a good girl. He decided that once the war ended, he would marry her.” Selene said.

Somehow Momoko frowned upon hearing this. Mizuki was also down.

At that moment something bizarre happened. Someone entered the house.

But it was not an intruder. It was Akatsuki himself.

Selene sighed in relief. But he looked a little different.

“Hey Akatsuki, you look a little different.” Selene said.

Akatsuki was standing in front of them. But he had a different expression on his face.

His face was full of pride. Like he was the best. His confidence was on cloud nine.

“Nice to meet you, girls. I am superbia.” Akatsuki said.

“Superbia? What is that?” Aisha asked.

Selene had a troubled look. She was making a face full of doubt and anxiety.

Then another Akatsuki appeared and after that another. Like this a total of seven Akatsuki appeared.

This event left everyone speechless. They couldn’t believe what they just saw.

Seven Akatsuki were standing in front of them.

The girls had seen and heard a lot of weird and unusual stuff but this was the worst.

To think there were seven of him. Selene herself was unsure.

“All of us are here. So let’s begin.” One of the Akatsuki said.
