Illusions?

Berry quickly closed the curtains and went to the bed. He had a single bed near the window. There was an almirah right in the front corner and a small table under the window. Rest of the room was empty and the door was right in the alternating corner of the almirah. He was laying on the bed and still had those stars shining in his eyes. Soon he fall asleep.

He was initially facing the wall, later he turned around half asleep. He caught a glimpse of someone in his room. It was a small kid. The same who stabbed someone in his earlier illusions. He was sitting on the floor with his face in his knees. He looked miserable. Suddenly, the boy heard something. He picked himself up with great difficulty and moved forward. A new face entered Berry's sight. He looked like a guard. He gave that boy a dagger and told him something in an ancient language. Berry had some knowledge of ancient languages and he understood a word or two. And he was sure that this guard was trying to manipulate him. He told him something and the boy suddenly had a killing intent in his eyes. This was scary. Everything vanished suddenly. Berry had a cold sweat on his back. He now was able to join loose ends of his illusions. Are these really illusions? He asked himself before finally hiding under the blanket.

After a little while, Orion and Zale came back in.

Everyone got up early the next morning. They had packed everything since the last night. Berry was quick with his packing as well, but the scenes from the last night made him feel uneasy. They left for their adventure without any special discussions. Each one of them had their own things on in their heads.

Orion and Zale were wishing that Berry's palace was a real one,

Berry wanted to understand the story and characters of his illusions,

Archer and Liam were worried about how long will they would have to stay there without air conditioning.

After an uncomfortable ride of four continuous hours on mountain roads, they reached a point where the SUV can't go on.

They all got off. Archer and Liam carried the bags, whereas Berry was leading the way. He was too slow to keep up with these experienced raiders. Zale himself was not really slow. Berry was almost running to stay ahead of them.

Berry suddenly turned in a right turn, straight into the dense forest. There were no traces of someone going that way at all. But all these 4 can do is follow him. Orion made marks all along the way, so they won't be lost in this forest. But just after walking for a few minutes, they caught a glimpse of a building. Their pace was getting faster and faster now. Berry's heart felt more and more uneasy. He suddenly felt a lot of scenes going on in his head. These were growing more and more intense. His eyes were blurry now. Others went straight towards the building. He tried to call them, but no voice came out of his throat. He was soon on his knees. The voices, cries and laughs all ringing in his ears, countless scenes going on in his head. He was unable to decode even a single one. Wars, deaths, kings and queens, small kids, different emotions all of this was unbearable.

He had no idea when he fainted. When he returned to his senses, he heard someone speaking near him.

"I really had no hope that there was really a palace here." It was Zale's voice, and he sounded a little hopeful.

"If it wasn't for the gold carvings, I would have defiantly believed that it was just a barren house. Why is this palace so small?" Orion himself sounded a little surprised.

"I think it was just his workplace."

Berry finally got up.

"What's going on here?"

"You fainted out of tiredness on the way. Archer carried you back."

"Oh, ok, Thank you Archer."

It was already night, and it shows how long Berry had been unconscious. In the meantime, they already did a rough inspection of the area. Everyone looked tired, they decided to set their camp. Just in half an hour, everything was done and Liam was cooking some soup in the traditional way. They all quickly finished their part of the work and sat around the campfire.

"So, when are we going to enter this place?" Archer asked in an overconfident manner.

"It's not safe to enter at night. Let's just wait for the morning." Orion still followed the raider's rules to some extent, and both Zale and Berry agreed to it.

"And an important thing, this palace is not like the normal places we usually raid. The king is so famous and the point is that either no one ever found this place or maybe they were never able to get out. We need to be careful tomorrow. Everyone will be listening to me and no touching unnecessarily. got it?"

"Yeah, yeah we know." Archer was still very overconfident.

"Listen, Archer, we are not in a movie. It's not like we are definitely gonna make it out. Please try to be more cautious. You have no idea what we can face inside. If you are not going to change your attitude, then you can keep an eye from the outside." Zale was being polite and sharp at the same time.

Zale had this kind of aura that no one can resist. Everyone had a kind of respect in their hearts for him. Archer suddenly felt embarrassed for his behavior right after Zale pointed him out.

This is the power given to him by the devil himself to avoid some silly accidents.

Later, after some more discussion, they all went back to their respective tents. Berry had been feeling uncomfortable since last night. He quickly had his medicine and went to sleep.

He opened his eyes. It was very dark. Soon he realized that he wasn't even in his tent. "Did I sleepwalk? Where am I?" He felt so light. He tried looking around. He heard voices like someone was trying to light on the fire.
