Chapter 6

The next morning, Rex went to the college without Morris escorted or accompanied by bodyguards. He had told them not to approach him until he was given orders. Last night, he had decided to keep his identity a secret.

Today, Rex would approach Julio and the bullies to ask them not to reveal his identity. Just as he passed the campus gates, Julio immediately came up to him with the bullies.

“We admit that we were wrong about what we did yesterday. Therefore, please give us your generosity and forgive us!” shouted Julio, throwing away his pride so he could bow to Rex.

The other bullies also bowed and apologized. Their actions caught the attention of those who passed through the gate. Of course, they knew who Julio was. Since the beginning of his appearance, the man had been arrogant and bullied weak students.

Julio seemed reluctant to bow down to anyone, but now he bowed to Rex. People wonder about what happened. Yesterday, Julio and his friends still managed to be arrogant. However, today they could not even raise their heads in front of Rex.

“Why should you bow to me?” Rex asked, pretending to smile awkwardly. He immediately helped Julio to stand back up. “Last night I was emotionally unstable and acted childish,” he continued, shocking the bullies.

At first, they thought they had to bow to Rex to gain the young man’s mercy. However, this morning he did not look as angry as last night.

“W-will you forgive us?” asked Julio, blinking in doubt.

Rex nodded, still smiling. He patted Julio on the shoulder and explained, “I can get your company back on track, as long as you don’t reveal my identity to anyone.”

“Huh? Why don’t you want others to know your identity?” Alexis interrupted in confusion. If he was Rex, then he would be shouting to the world that he was the next heir to the Quillon family.

“It was my father’s request. I hid my identity because I was very weak. If the enemy finds out about this, then they will target me.”

Those words made Julio clench his fists. It turned out that Rex was just a weak young master who dared to threaten him last night. In his heart, he cursed Rex for acting like he was the ruler, even though he was so weak.

Julio’s pride was offended, but he did not dare say anything because the Quillon Family was very influential. For now, he had to hold back his emotions and wait for the right time to take revenge. When Rex was not with his bodyguard, he would hire someone to beat up the weak young master of the Quillon Family.

“It’s an easy matter, Rex. We promise not to reveal your identity to anyone,” Julio said with a fake smile.

Rex nodded, then looked intensely at the bullies. “Thank you for understanding me. I hope you can keep your promise because my family is very cruel. They can do worse things than last night when you broke the promise. Do you understand?”

“We understand!” the bullies, in unison, answered the question earlier.

“Good! Then I’ll go now because I have to get to class soon. I’m sorry for what happened yesterday,” Rex said, waving his hand as he left.

After Rex left, Julio immediately kicked one of his friends to vent his anger. “You loser! How dare he threaten us when he’s weak?” he cursed.

“Please watch your attitude. The Quillon Family must have sent someone to watch over us. If they find out you cursed Rex, then you’re done,” said Alexis, trying to calm things down, but got a smack in his stomach instead.

Julio hit Alexis in the stomach again because he remembered what had happened last night. When Alexis staggered backward, he immediately grabbed onto his friend’s collar shirt. “I was so mad at Rex that I forgot to beat you up! Last night, you betrayed me.”

“Hey, dude! Calm yourself. This isn’t the time to be fighting,” one of them told as he pulled Julio away from Alexis.

That person was Sebastian. His family owned a business in the entertainment sector and almost went bankrupt because of last night’s incident. His father beat him up immediately after he came home. Therefore, he also held a grudge against Rex like Julio.

“I have a great idea,” Sebastian said, lowering his voice, afraid that Rex’s bodyguards might be around. He put his mouth to Julio’s ear and whispered, “My family has a connection with one of the bosses in the underworld. He is very strong and will do anything if you pay him.”

“How strong is the person you’re talking about?” asked Julio, also lowering his voice.

“You must have heard the news of the mayor of Struthia’s death. It was no ordinary death, as described in the news. He died because he was killed by the person I was referring to.”

“What nonsense are you talking about? No one would dare kill an official.”

Sebastian smiled proudly. “That means you’re not playing far enough. His name is Luke. He’s one of the bosses of the underworld. He often gets requests to kill important people like officials. All of his clients are influential people in this country.”

“So you’re saying we can hire Luke to beat up Rex?” asked Julio, getting interested in this idea.

“Exactly. My family has used Luke’s services and it would be easy for me to find him. However, the cost for his services is not cheap.”

“Money won’t be a problem if my dad’s company gets back to normal. I’ll lower my pride and curry favor with that loser, Rex. He will help my company if I’m nice to him.”

A plan to beat Rex was made. However, the other bullies did not go along with Julio and Sebastian’s plan. They were already afraid enough of Rex’s threat. Worse things would happen if that reckless plan failed.

On the other hand, Rex arrived at his class and immediately became the center of attention. The incident at the gate had spread in such a short time that it became hot gossip on the campus. People in class talk to Rex to find out the truth about the gossip.

“Good morning, Rex! Would you mind talking to us?” A girl greeted Rex with three other people.

Rex had no choice but to nod in agreement. He must maintain his image as a kind-hearted model student. “You’re free to talk to me. Don’t hesitate,” he said, smiling kindly.

“We are very curious about the rumors. Is it true that Julio and his friends bowed and apologized to you?”

“That’s right.”

“Wow, that’s really surprising! How could they bow to you? I heard Julio from the Architecture Department is very arrogant. He even threatened a lecturer, and no one dared him.”

Rex scratched his chin awkwardly, then replied, “I have an uncle who is a martial arts expert. Yesterday, he saw Julio and the bullies bothering me. My uncle was so angry that he beat them.”

“They apologized just for getting beat up? Weren’t Julio’s parents very rich?” One of the girls asked in disbelief.

“It seems you haven’t seen the faces of Julio and his friends. If you see their faces, you will understand. My uncle beat them so brutally that they were traumatized.”

“Is that true?”

“If you don’t believe me, then just ask Julio!”

“I don’t dare to do that.”

“Since you don’t dare, then you have to trust me, hahaha.”

Chelsea, who had just arrived in class, growled in annoyance when she saw Rex surrounded by many girls. Before coming to class, she had also heard the rumors about Julio. She did not expect the girls in her class would approach Rex because of the rumors.

“Excuse me!” yelled Chelsea, throwing her bag on the table. She looked at the girls and continued, “You’d better go because this is my seat.”

“How can this be your seat? We sat here early, so this is our seat,” one of the girls scowled.

“I’ve been sitting here since the first day of college.”

“But everyone is free to choose their seat in this class. First come, first served.”

“Didn’t you guys always choose the same seats from the first day? Therefore, go back to your seats now.”

“What if we don’t want to?”

Rex had to pound the table to stop the argument. As he smiled, he spoke, “Could you guys stop fighting? The class will be starting soon. From the start, you guys came here just to talk to me. Therefore, go back to your seats before the lecturer arrives.”

The girls snorted at Chelsea and went to their seats. Chelsea, who felt that she had won, suddenly smiled lopsidedly. Then she sat down beside Rex and touched the young man’s hand.

“Rex, I heard Julio and his friends came to you at the gate. Did they hurt you again?” Chelsea asked, pretending to be worried.

Rex shook his head slowly. “They didn’t do anything. And I apologize to you for overreacting yesterday. Can you keep my identity a secret? I have reasons why I should hide it.”

“Of course! I will do anything as long as you forgive me.”

“I’ve forgiven you, Chelsea. After much thought, I came to know who was responsible for what happened yesterday.”

Hearing that, Chelsea immediately hugged Rex’s hand without permission. “I’m grateful that you understand! I don’t have any feelings for Julio. He forced me to be his girlfriend and bullied you. Do you trust me?”

“Yes, I do. You’ve been nice to me all this time. How could someone as kind as you want to hurt me?”

“I can’t express how excited I am. Thank you so much!”

Rex smiled as he stroked Chelsea’s hair. Even though the look on his face was full of love, he was plotting something evil. He would make Chelsea fall in love with him and dump the girl when he got bored.
