Getting back home and meeting my mother in law and her two friends in the living room I greeted them and wanted to head up the stairs to my room when my mother-in-law Mrs Gabriel called me back.

I walked closer to her and stopped in front of her and she stretched out her hand while she held her wine glass.

"Fill it." She said and felt More like an order as if she was doing it to show to her friends that I was nothing but an errand boy in her house.

I was already silently nursing the heart break her daughter gave me and now she wanted to insult me more.

"What are you waiting for?" She said and I sighed,picked up the bottle of wine and filled it up for her.

"You can help fill my friend's glasses while you are at it." She said and her two friends raised their glass with an amusing smile on their faces.

I dropped the bottle on the table and headed upstairs.

"Get back here you low life! Thomas! Thomas! You dare insult me in front of my guests in my own house!" Mrs Gabriel shouted angrily but I was already in my room and I shut the door.

I think I have had enough insults today.

I didn't leave my room till later in the evening when I had a knock on my door, it was Natalia.

I opened the door for her.

She walked in still in her work attire and I closed the door.

"You didn't wait for me to finish, you just left." She said as she faced me, no greeting,no single sign of remorse on her face as to what she did.

"Only an insane man would see his wife sleeping with another man and yet still stay there." I retorted and she sighed.

"That aside, are you done with your research which company did you find?" Natalia asked curiously.

That was all she cared about, not how I felt about what I saw when I came to her office.

"I came to tell you in your office but I saw that you were ...preoccupied with something more important than what I wanted to say this morning." I said as I sat on the bed before for some strange reason I felt drained of all my energy.

Maybe it was because of working all night or what I saw this morning but damn what a bad way to start a day.

"Just give me the Intel Thomas. I am not in the mood to exchange words with you, as you can see I just came back from work and I am tired and I need to rest." She said but I couldn't look at her nor respond to her.

I at least needed some explanation as to why she would do this.

I gritted my teeth in anger and clenched a fist full of my sheet.

"Tired from what exactly? Going around and screwing men?" I asked through gritted teeths.

"Natalia I can't believe you would do something like this." I scoffed in disbelief as I exhaled. 

"You can't even say you are sorry Nat,if this continues I am not sure I can deal with it anymore your betrayal goes so deep that I feel like a fill for putting up with it...I love you but I think this is too much to handle." I vented out my frustration.

"Gosh! You act so unbelievably at times." Natalia huffed.

"Fine I am sorry I was tired and I needed to vent out my exhaustion and he was just helping me with it….it's no big deal don't bother yourself about it" She said, shrugging it off as if it meant nothing and I looked up to her in disbelief.

"He was helping you by sleeping with you?" I asked unbelievably.

"You know I thought you could love me after we got married but I think I was wrong,I was so nice to actually see what you were offering me that day,a life where I would get insulted each day and my intelligence looked down on.." I said.

"Thomas I do love you,you know that but…" She sighed.

"I made a silly mistake, he's just there and sometimes I can't help it around him…." She trailed off but I didn't understand where she was going to and what this had to do with her cheating.

"We used to date and my Father got involved and it didn't end well, it's just complicated. I was just not thinking clearly..it won't happen again I promise." She replied.

Listening to Natalia talk made me more upset. Was she actually trying to justify her cheating one me right now?

"Really Nat? Is that the best thing you can say?" I asked in utter disgust.

"So if I suddenly started sleeping with another woman you would be fine with it." I retorted.

"That's not what I mean… it was just this once it won't happen again." She promised.

"It won't happen again really ,isn't that what you told me last time when I saw you with a guy acting like love birds,kissing and feeding each other." I said.

"Gosh T stop being annoying. I told you he was just a friend. Why are you bringing it up again?" She asked in annoyance.

" If you don't want to help me, fine , don't help you, you are just saying all this because I came and asked for help." Natalia half yelled at me making her way to the door when I stood up from the bed and stopped her.

 I didn't know if I really wanted to help her this time but it would do me no good to withhold the info I have from her.

Even though it felt pathetic that I have invested a lot in her company, turning my back on it now was not something I could easily do.

I would just do it for the company I told myself even though I knew it was a lie.

"I am sorry, don't be offended,it won't happen again I promise" Natalia said.

She knew well enough I had a weak spot when it came to her, maybe that was why she always took advantage of my goodness.

"It wasn't as if I asked for much, I just want you to love me back." I told her and she moved closer to kiss me but I turned away and the kiss landed in my cheeks instead.

I don't want her lips kissing me when I knew well enough she has just been with another man.

"I am so sorry." She apologized again, embracing me.

How naive was I thinking that age could get over her obsession for men that easily.

In the end I gave her the names of the company and she thanked me and left nothing was said to me. I knew that was the only thing she came for.

It doesn't matter if her happiness was my happiness. I tried convincing myself of that again.

I've been doing that for years and I was really getting tired of it.

I sat down on the bed and sighed.

How did I let myself get to this low point that no one respected me?

This was not how it was supposed to be,this isn't how my future was supposed to turn out but this was the reality for me even though I wanted to leave I just can't do that.

I knew the only thing that she wanted was my help but I wanted more.

I loved Natalia and I was willing to bear this hoping that one day she would love me back.

A month passed and as I predicted, the shares of the company that I gave Natalia rose and her Father's company gained a lot of income from it.

And yet again Mr Gabriel took out his time to berate me when I got excited about the news and Natalia was just happy that was in the spotlight receiving all the praise.
