Chapter Two: Beating

“Pfft.” The taller man burst out laughing.

With how cocky he had been earlier, who would have thought that the man was just here to be some low-end staff like them?

A bodyguard?

“Oh!” The shorter man exclaimed “I think he wants to apply for the position of a bodyguard here at the suite”

A wave of understanding dawned upon the other man and they broke into a lot of cackling bout of laughter.

The shorter man held his stomach and coughed, trying to control his laughter. His small round face reddened

“You’re not good enough to fill in that role. Go back to the streets where you –“

Richard did not allow him to finish talking when his fisted palms landed with force on the other man’s jaw, sending him to stagger back in shock.

The man fell to the ground with a thud. The other security man immediately swiveled into action and headed at Richard with a loud cry of anger.

Richard caught him just in time and lifted him a few feet above the ground. Then, he planted a neat punch on his bulging stomach.

The man immediately let out a sharp cry of agony while the other one on the ground got up to fight back, shouting at the top of his voice.

Richard dished out another leg throw.

This time, he landed on the other man who was now struggling to get up to his feet.

“You bloody bastard!” one of the men yelped in frustration as he felt like they had just gotten face slapped right after saying he didn’t qualify.

“How dare you come into our territory to assault us? Who the fuck do you think you are?”

The other man clutched his stomach and gritted his face in pain.

Richard stood In a stance, flexing his muscled arm in front of his body as he squinted at both men. His small slitted eyes glared at both men trying to predict their next moves.

“Joe! Lucas!” one of the men began to call in a loud voice. He was calling for help from the other bodyguards that were inside the residence.

Clearly, this man wasn’t someone only them could handle and if they didn’t call security now, they didn’t doubt that they would be beaten to their death.

With how Richard stood, feet apart like some death god or grim reaper from the ancient time, they felt like he was going to have their lives taken if they didn’t call for help.

It wasn’t long before the gates of the mansion was flung open and several men rushed out.

They were in uniforms just like the men that were panting heavily on the floor.

“What’s going on?” one of them asked in surprise.

The group of men gathered around the two men on the floor as they helped them to stand to their feet.

“He did! This insolent stranger. He assaulted us for no reason” One of the men shouted, pointing at Richard who was now standing a few feet away from the scene.

His right hand firmly gripped his suitcase that he had dropped to the floor shortly before the brief confrontation had began.

The men that had rushed out of the building now went to meet Richard with questioning looks on their face.

“Who the hell are you?” one of them asked.

“You touched our men? Why” Another shot at Ryan.

Richard clenched his fists as he tried to tame his wild anger.

“They weren’t doing their jobs. I’m here to see Lord Rodriguez.” He said curtly that the new guards that were close to ten all sneered.

They felt like it was clear to see why he had been beaten up, after all, if anyone of them was here, they would do the same.

“Do you think our master is anyone that some local dog could just request for and see?” One of them sneered.

“He even had the guts to claim that he wanted to become a bodyguard here.” The fat one that was struggling to stand said. His body was in pain and he felt like his colleagues could inflict that kind of pain on him also.

“Take both of them inside. We would handle this man. We just need to tell the boss that some suspicious individual was trying to test our security.” One of them said and then cracked his fingers.

Richard shot him a look of disdain. It was clear to know who was trained and who wasn’t. Neither of the security that he had seen here today looked like they had any type of training he even wondered how exactly they could protect a mansion like this.

The man that had just cracked his fingers saw that Richard was only standing there looking stupid and thought he had been scared shitless by his show of power.

Although his opponent was bigger, he knew that there were several people now that relied on some type of drugs to make them grow out muscles but when it came to physical strength, they were usually lacking.

Yet at that moment that he rushed at Richard, he felt like the world became a type of vortex that sucked him in and made faces lose their balance.

“Ahh!!” He screamed as he felt immense pain from fists hitting his chin. Before he could try to register the pain or where Richard was, he felt another kick to his stomach that had him reeling until he finally fell to the floor, unable to hold on anymore.

Up until the point he fell, he had no idea how Richard had gotten to him or hit him in two vital places.

Seeing how easily he had destroyed their colleagues. The remaining nine decided to rush out at the same time.

Although his face remained impassive, disdain flashed through Richard’s eyes at their reaction. They were not the type to bow in the face of strength.

Before long, howls and pig-like shouts were heard in front of the huge gate as Richard dealt with each one of them until neither of them could get up.

As soon as he was done beating them to his heart’s content, he dusted his shirt slightly and stood with his back straight like all the fallen and howling men on the floor had nothing to do with him.

Unknown to him, his action had attracted the people inside the fenced mansion.
