Chapter Five

- 7 months later -

The monk had grown older and looked shorter in the environment. No environment could be likened to the natural ventilation he receive living near the forest where he did perform his ritual activities with maximum communications with the gods. It had been a terrible lots of months he had lived and endured in the prison. He kept seeking for the blessing of the gods to reveal who the mother of child was.

The monk was sleeping when he had the revelation that it was time he met with the mother of the baby who was coming to the world with a nefarious fate. It was a tense afternoon as he woke up with his reddened eyes. There was no way he was going to meet the woman without being out of the palace and that might left the child in danger of other predators like the president who might have seen or heard about the prophecy and would have made further research.

The monk saw an impending danger on the child and there was no way he going to prevent it. He walked to one of the security men guarding his prison and whisper into his ear. Forthwith, the security man paced out of the palace informing one of his colleagues to keep an eye on the monk. He scooted to Sir Herbert’s office.

“Sir. The monk is ready to voice out. He said it is the time for the world to know the mother of the child.”

Sir Herbert dropped the newspaper that he glued his eyes on. He had been left worried of recent when a long time prophecy which had been made from his birth and was always reminded by his mother was revealed to him again that he should never use his sword on a new born baby. He hoped it wouldn’t be from the nefarious fated child. Sir Herbert had been disturbed and even lenient towards the monk and their relationship had grown recently when the revelation was disclosed to him.

He also consulted the monk which he confirmed. The monk had seen the revelation the first day he saw Sir Herbert, he thought of keeping it to himself so he wouldn’t be seen as a manipulator. Sir Herbert paced to the prison.

“Monk Pat. Is it true?”

The monk nodded and he gladly opened the prison door for him to come out. He stopped the police from manhandling him. He also ordered the Carten’s police to follow behind him as they walk to the president’s office.

“Good day, President Humphrey. The monk said it is time for the world to know who the mother and the child is,” Sir Herbert said.

“You mean the monk is ready to disclose who the mother is?”

He nodded. With gladness, he arose from the chair where he sat. He had been left worried since the revelation had been released especially with the involvement of his daughters that he cherished so much. They had heard of the rumour and had been on his neck trying to confirm if it was true which he couldn’t ascertain either.

“Monk Pat. I was told now that you are ready to voice out who the mother of the child is.”

The monk nodded.

“Ok. Where is she?”

“She lives in the city of Camyork at the North Western pole of Carten. She will be giving birth to the child soon.”

Humphrey faced Sir Herbert.

“Go with him to the Canyork and bring the woman here,” Humphrey said.

He nodded and went picked few of the UltraDope police that would be going with him. They headed to the car park where they would be driven to Carten local airport and would flight to Camyork. It was a short flight. Carten generally wasn’t a large country. It had an approximate of 1,500 km^2 of landmass and it was an easy flight as they landed in Camyork.

Belleza, a widow whose husband was killed by the Carten’s police after being falsely accused of theft by he populace. It had left Belleza lonely for the past six months. She had been struggling to cater for herself and her unborn child. She was coming from the shore where she went to get a bucket of water when the monk who led the way blocked her. She alsmost reached home as she was also feeling some kinda pain in her stomach.

She lived in a remote house after she was forced to leave the house she lived with her husband due to her inability to make payment for the house rent. She had been living in the remote house she found empty while she struggled landing to the shore side where she had been engaging constantly in agricultural activities to feed herself and the neighbourhood had been giving a helping hand.

The monk had long seen everything that would happen to her husband but couldn’t come to save him due to his captivity in the Carten’s prison.

“Is this her?” One of the police asked.

He nodded. The police man looked at Sir Herbert and he gave them signal nodding his head to go ahead with the arrest. En route, when they board the flight that would be taking them back to UltraDope, Belleza gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in the car. Sir Herbert was indifference as he kept having the feeling that the longtime prophecy was made for this period. He wasn’t as active as he used to be but no one noticed due to his nature.

It was a tense period because it was the monk and Sir Herbert who stayed with her in the process of the labour. It was a warm welcome as they made it to the capital city. Minister Hemingway had also learnt of the development and had informed Mr Darlington.  He also welcomed them and they all walked to the president’s office. He was already at the entrance of his office waiting for them.

Belleza was rushed to the medical department forthwith they touched down in UltraDope. Sir Herbert paced to the president’s office.

“She gave birth to the child in the aeroplane,” Sir Herbert said.
