Chapter 70 - I Won... But Did I?

Did I? I was sure to myself that Francoise let me win, despite tossing a few gravels in her direction and shaking off her balance. It almost felt like Captain Israel and Francoise let this match bound to happen, and I was destined to lose as they left a bit of a winning chance in my mouth.

When the dust settled in, Francoise blocked all my attacks. Not one of them came through, even though the last resort of mine was the strongest I could swing my rapier.

It wasn’t because my blade was different. I lost because Francoise was more wise than me in battle and she was heartless. But that was her main disadvantage. Although she never let her emotions get the best of her, Francoise wanted nothing more but to slay her target.
