Chapter 8( His wife the queen)

His legs would have failed him if he didn't realize that there was nothing holding him.

He had mistakenly let out a magic spell by just placing his arms on the door. However, it was unnoticed to him.

Brian gulped as he found himself in a long hallway. There was no trace of human or anything, and it felt he was in the middle of nowhere.

“Hello? Anyone, somebody, anybody?” He chorused, not knowing if to move or stay still.

At last, his eyes got sight of a maid who strides closer to him. This maid had a bowl in her hand and seems in a haste outside.

She brushed pass his shoulder and the bowl in her hand fell. What poured out of the bowl was blood.

For a moment, Brian ceased breathing as he hated the sight of blood. The maid abandoned the bowl and spilled blood. She peered her eyes at him and unexpectedly spat out the words;

“You must be the physician, please come with me, commander Philip says he would get us a physician”

“Me?” He asked her, and she nodded, suddenly pulling him by the hand to hasten up.

Brian tottered behind her. She led him into a different chamber. It was quite different from the one he encountered when those strange shadows took him.

“The queen got shot by an arrow in the heart, we had thought the man from the future would have a way of healing her, but he fled away” the maid reported to him in whispers and Brian scoffed.

He didn't flee but was abducted by shadows, the sooner that commander knows, the better for him.

Over here, he could hear cries of maids and servants. They were all gathered around a bed and reading some enchantments.

The king had left to sought for a cure and so Brian was left alone with the servants and sick queen, who he believed was dead by now.

“Please save her life, every physician can't cure her because it's a curse” the maid narrated almost crying.

Brian blinked his eyes at her, heaved a sigh, and then drew closer to where the bed laid.

He widened his eyes at the woman who laid down. Her skin had turned pale, and she was covered in blood.

Suddenly, tears began to gush out of his eyes and he called out to the person.

“Anastasia”

It turns out to be his wife lying lifeless on the bed! How could that be? If his wife was over here, could the giggle he was hearing earlier belong to his child.

Quickly, he pushed his way through the maids and servants. Grab her hand and kissed it.

“Please open your eyes… Anna, please wake up, I'm here now”

Meanwhile, the maids and servants looked upon this man with bemusement. Could it be his way of detecting what was wrong with the queen?

He kept kissing her hands continuously and crying, shaking her to wake up, but there was no response from her.

The court lady who had come in and found this pathetic man by the queen had to intervene.

They couldn't let this strange physician place his lips on the queen's sacred hand.

“I beg your pardon, this is improper” the court lady announced and Brian glared at her. He used his palm to wipe his tears and then swallowed hard.

This was his wife, whom he loved with all his heart. Though they might be separated, but his love for her would never die. How dare she try telling him that?

“Who are you?” The court lady asked and the maid who led Brian there, tried to explain that she had thought he was the physician, but then Brian declared;

“I am the great wizard”

The court lady gasped and quickly stepped back while apologizing for her rude behavior.

If declaring those words would make him stay with his wife, he was going to accept that.

At once, everyone in this chamber went on their knees and began to plead that he should save their queen.

Of course, he didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that he needed to revive his wife. That was what he was thinking over.

If he could accidentally control the wind, then luck might help him to heal his wife.

He inhaled, told himself to be a man and not to cry because it won't help. Brian swirled his hands the same way he did in the field of sunflowers, but it wasn't working.

The maids watch him with anticipation as he was acting like a lunatic but yet, they had their faith in him.

He gave up trying and just placed his palm on her chest. In his heart, he pleaded for her to wake up, and stay strong for him.

He felt an energy left him and so he closed his eyes to concentrate if perhaps a flow of energy from him would awake the queen.

Brian tried not to panic and had to clench his teeth, while placing his shaky hand on her chest where he could feel her breath.

The queen miraculously gasped, and her breathing had become normal. He had just woken up The Sleeping Beauty.

He had the powers, but couldn't control it yet. Right that moment, every living soul in these chambers began to worship him.

Brian still had her hand on his, and he gave her an ardent look. Her eyes haven't opened yet, but her face was intended, and she tightens her grip on his hand.

The court lady stood up with a smile and hurried to attend to the queen. This court lady was interrupting the emotional moments he was having with his wife.

Brian wished to stay with her, but the maids and servants weren't letting him.

Rather, they beckoned to him that he needed to see the king and also directed him to his assigned chamber.

It was like though these people were separating him from his wife again. When they mentioned the king, it then knocks on his head that she was married to a powerful man already.

They just got divorced yesterday but today, she was married. However, this was a different world, and so he doubted if she would even recognize him.

Everything rest upon the mysterious sliver spoon, if he could figure out where it was, then he could reset things back.

That was it! The sliver spoon. If he ever finds it, he would wish upon it by eating three times and everything would go back to normal.

He would have wished to be wealthy rather than wish to become great in a strange land.
