Apparently, I'm going to Wales so I can help with a group mission, I wasn't informed about this until now so I don't know how to feel but I'm pretty sure nothing will go wrong, at least not like before, I was dragged to an unknown place and fought for my life, at least this time I will have someone I can depend on

"Your team is a new one but a promising one nonetheless, we call them "Ter" they are a team of two, and they are both ejected with monster DNA so both of them have an ability, Your mission is to find a clue of a monster inside a kindergartner, I assigned you too because you have a keen sense"

Nicolas told me as he was staring at the street

"And why did you send a such skilled team, to begin with?"

I asked, I know that it isn't as simple of a mission as it sounds

"Looks like you are worried but I can assure you that not many monsters will appear there and if they do then they will be weak and fragile, even you could kill them"

Nicolas said as he looked at me from the front seat mirror

"And why would Ambrose place me on a such mission?"

I asked confused but Nicolas didn't reply, I guess he has orders not to talk about the details, Ambrose doesn't look like the type to tell anyone her doings, especially someone like me who just joined their little organization

After a long time of silence I simply used the two back seats so I can take a nap, a car ride from London to Wales would surely take time so I would like to skip this awkward car ride, thankfully this short nap I was expecting lasted the whole ride, I could tell because Nicolas had to wake me up

"Wake the hell up kid, I ain't going to wait for you"

Nicolas told me in an angry tone, I quickly got up and fixed my suit because it was messy from my bumpy sleep, I then followed Nicolas

"Are we going to the kindergarten?"

"Wasn't that obvious Johan? But before you meet them I want you to promise me something..."

Nicolas asked me as he stopped walking

"What is it?"

"Whatever you do try not to defy their orders, they are a very strict duo, especially to someone that isn't them, it was hard enough to make them accept you coming with them so the least you can do to help us is act like the inferior person"

"What kind of people did you pair me with Nicolas?"

I asked with a smile, he smiled too

"I will let you see for yourself"

He said as he started walking again, and after a turn, I saw the destroyed kindergarten, outside of it there were two people in suits, they are most probably "Ter", when we approached them they saluted Nicolas

"It's good to see you again Captain Nicolas! Is he the special guy you have been telling us about?"

Special? ME? What did Nicolas tell them?

"That's right Nicole! This boy is named Johan Berdton, he is powerless and this is his first mission so please try to look over him"

Nicolas told them as he gently pushed me to them

"What? He is powerless? I know that you would make us partner up with a nobody like him but a powerless person is beyond disrespectful"

The guy of the duo said, he had a ring on his right hand, is he married or something?

"Don't flip out like that Jack, I want to remind you that he was Ambrose's pick and we both know she has a good eye for people, that's how she found Nicole so I wouldn't underestimate Johan if I was you"

Nicolas told him, it seemed like the guy backed down after what Nicolas said

"Then how about a friendly spar before entering inside the building?"

Jack asked me, Nicolas wasn't bothered by the idea so why not

"Fine by me, but before we start I want to learn your ability so I have an idea of how to fight against you"

I said as I walked away from him

"My ability? Fine, my ability is magnetism manipulation, this ability helps me manipulate well... magnetism found around the world, can we start now?"

He asked excitingly, I nodded and once I did that the battle began, he immediately threw a knife at me, I dodged it but for some reason, it came back at me, I dodged it again since it was going slower than the last time, and finally, the knife returned to me one more time but this time I managed to grab it since it was going way slower

"Why do you look this impressed? I told you that my ability is magnetism which means I can make your body magnetic"

He said as he took another knife out of a special belt he had

"Well you also gave me a weapon by using your ability so I can't complain"

I said as I was ready to charge at him but before I could do that the threw another knife, I dodged it again but this time I acted smarter, I used my magnetic field to make the knife move the way I wanted, and by that, I mean that I used his attack against him

After dodging the blade I charged at Jack, the knife followed, what I was about to do was risky but I could win if it succeeded, after coming closer to him I ducked and to my surprise, the knife was launched at Jack with a high speed, but then Jack did the impossible, he simply caught the knife with his hand and kicked my head, he then punched me at my chest pushing me back but before I can fall he used his ability to move me closer to him, and he then punched me one more time making me finally falling down

"How the hell did you do that?"

"I'm trained unlike you so I can dodge simple knifes no matter how fast they are"

"I'm not talking about the knife, asking you how did you pull me closer to you?"

Jack then laughed

"Didn't you go to school? Your body has iron in it so I simply attracted this iron to me, therefore, making you come closer to me"

Jack said as took the knife out of my hand

"This guy is useless Captain please don't send him to die like that"

Jack said with a smug smile as he walked up to Nicolas

"Come on now Jack! You have way more experience than him, you can't expect him to harm you when he has no experience or power"

Nicole told him, she sounded annoyed with him, Jack then walked up to Nicole's face

"Do you forget who makes the call in this team?"

Jack told her as he glared at her

"Calm down boy, the only reason you have authority over her is because I allow it so humble yourself"

Nicolas said as he stepped between the two of them, Jack seemed a bit afraid of Nicolas

"Fine but also tell her not to intervene in my plans"

Jack said as he backed down, after their little argument I tried to stand up but it was hard, thankfully Nicole helped me get up, and shortly after we entered the kindergartner

"Isn't Nicolas coming with us?"

I asked Nicole

"He has other matters to attend to, far more important than this stupid mission"

she answered as she helped me move through the school hall, suddenly Jack told us from inside a room, when we entered we saw that the room was a playroom that children used to play at, the drawings on the wall were destroyed, the carpet had many destroyed parts, and the toys that were on the ground had dust and mold on them

"Did you find anything Jack?"

Nicole asked confused, she was confused because she saw Jack holding a toy bear in his hand, this toy looked new and unscratched

"This toy looks new so that means that someone was here, but why would they have a teddy bear with them?"

He asked himself as he continued to search the room

"This room hides something so try to look for anything weird, Captain said you have a keen sense before leaving so that must mean something"

Nicole said as she also started searching random items around the room, after searching this room myself something managed to grab my attention, it was a small bronze train, the train barely managed to roll its wheels

"Stop playing with those stupid toys and help us for fuck's sake"

Jack angrily told me as he made me stand up with his power, as he pulled me up I still kept the toy in my hand

"This thing seems weird, a toy like that should at least come with a set of other similar toys but this is a solo set of toys for no reason"

I said, Jack seemed bothered so he took the toy out of my hand, a weird thing happened when he grabbed the toy, the silver ring he had on his right hand liquefied and was absorbed from the toy train, Jack immediately threw the toy at the wall when he saw that happen

"Nicole fall back! The train toy is a monster!"

Jack told her, she then quickly ran to us and faced the toy, the toy then slowly turned to its normal state and started moving at us, emitting a poisoning gas from its smokestack, the train moved very slowly since it was this small but still didn't stop the others from attacking it, Jack used his magnetic powers to throw a beaten up chair at it and Nicole used her powers for the first time in front of me, her power was something I have never seen before, she opened her palm and created a plasma-like sphere, the attack had a bright orange color, Nicole released the attack after Jack's attack and I understand why. Her attack created a powerful explosion that launched me back because of the impact it created

"What the hell was that? Why didn't you tell me that you are this powerful!"

I asked Nicole, her power was incredible, the whole area looked even more destroyed than before

"Eh? My bad I guess, you see I can use my life energy to create powerful attacks like that, but something is strange, my explosions tend to be bigger than this..."

Nicole said bothered

"What??? You can create even bigger explosions!?"

It was unbelievable but I don't doubt her

"No, you are missing the point! Look closer"

Nicole said as she pointed at the ground, somehow the train was still intact and was still moving as, its size became bigger too, it was almost like the size of the chair

"We are retreating! There is no way we can beat this thing here!"

Jack said as he quickly opened the door to leave, as we were running from the toy train I saw it absorbing even more metal and wood and becoming bigger and bigger after every object it devoured

"Don't look back, you idiot! RUN!"

Jack yelled, I can tell that he was feeling fear

the train then broke the wall of the room and started chasing us at the hall, it had become as tall as the hall and was exposing us to deadly amounts of poison, but the poison was the last thing we had to worry about, the train was picking up speed quickly and if we didn't do anything to stop it then it will run as over

"Quick! Enter here!"

Jack said as he pushed us inside a door, once we entered the door we all found ourselves on an empty beach, there was nothing around and the time was weird, it was the golden hour, after coming to this weird place the door we came in closed

"Where did you take us?"

I asked confused as I looked around this weird environment

"Like hell, I know idiot! This door must have been a pocket dimension we just have to open it and we will be right back at the kinder..."

Jack said but he swallowed his words before ending his sentence because when he opened this weird wooden door there was nothing to be seen besides the sea and the beautiful orange sun

"Huh?"

Jack said confused, he closed and opened the door over and over again but nothing changed, even though he knew nothing would happen Jack continued to close and open the door with panic, he was sweating and cursing uncontrollably

"Jack calm down! We can find a way out of this"

Nicole said in an attempt to calm him down but Jack's response was simply screaming

"DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE ARE WE? THIS MAY BE THE SANGUINE BEACH! IF THAT'S THE CASE DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKED WE ARE?"

I have never seen a man so scared before in my life, his eyes were about to pop out of his head and his veins almost penetrated his skin from shouting, his angry reaction was silence by a whale's cry

"Oh fuck no..."

Jack said as he slowly turned around, a big whale jumped from the water, the whale then spat out water out of its hole thingy and then went inside the water again, when Jack saw that he started to run away from the sea leaving us behind with no explanation

"What is happening?"

Nicole asked confused as he saw Jack running, after witnessing what I just saw I can now understand why Jack is running, the whale jumped once again but this time wings came through its skin and the whale then started to fly, and it was flying at us...
