010- An uncanny ending

“Who are you young lad? You don’t look like a drisian.” The seer motioned to the crowd, making a comparison between the mindless abusers, and this…. Demon, he thought.

Corey rolled his shoulders, marking up a plan in his mind. The issue with his system, NewAge, is that the device wanted chaos and blood splatter without actually thinking. Corey, being only a level three, could get in serious trouble. And if he wanted to he the best, trouble would need a carefully deduced plan.

The seer’s skillboard appeared above his head, Corey read through it, a level twenty five in psychic abilities. Taking this man down won’t be easy, especially if he chose to not follow NewAge’s path.

‘Only when necessary.’ He reminded himself. Giving in now would lead to disaster.

“Do you have a brothel?” Corey asked the seer. The man’s eyes were switching in between normal, and almost demonic. He was trying to do something, but Corey clearly was immune to it. Though the teen didn’t say anything about it. He acted in an oblivious way.

The seer just stared, contemplating whether to answer the question or not. He could be truthful, and risk getting caught by one of the higher level guards. They were unaware of the elves he had gathered. The rare ones, and the age would get him into a heap of issues.

He would be slaughtered. So telling this stranger the truth is out of the option.

“No, we don’t. Um, may I ask who you are?”

Corey dropped his hand, finally turning to look at the seer. NewAge had the man’s weak spots marked out for Corey to see. For a man who can control people, and has a psychic ability to predict the next thing that might happen to him, the seer had a lot of weaknesses. So many. Corey stopped at number twenty, killing this man would be easy. But he still wanted a plan.

The citizens of Eldris eyes, from what Corey had heard, were nasty, messed up people. But if they’ve been under his control, and he’s the one making them do all of this, then wouldn’t it mean they’re name was tarnished-

NewAge: YOU THINK TOO MUCH, COREY. JUST DO IT. THIS MAN IS DANGEROUS. AND I MEAN REALLY DANGEROUS. HE’S BEEN UNDER THE RADAR FOR YEARS.

Corey gave a bob of his head to that. The man’s skillboard was too disgusting to even look at twice. The list. Most people’s skill boards would only hold their names, weaknesses, and other important things. But as if trying to tamper to Corey’s traumatic past, NewAge had shown him a list of the seer’s crimes and why he was blacklisted from many towns.

But Corey had questions. If he wanted to get the girls out, he would need to kill the seer in the end. Which would break whatever spell he has on the town.

If they were evil before the seer got to them, then Corey couldn’t let them live either.

He sighed, all he wanted was a map. Not to help people. Why couldn’t they have been feasting off flesh? He grumbled under his breath. Now he would feel like an ass if he left this traumatized little girl, and more like her, alone with this bastard.

The crowd let a monotonous sound, getting Corey out of his mind.

“Do you own a brothel?” he repeated his question to the man. The seer’s suspicions increased.

He raised his foot, and the little girl shrieked. Shooting up to her feet, ready to make another attempt to run. Corey grabbed her by the shoulder, and pulled her to his chest. He reached for his jacket again, she was shivering.

Corey felt like she wanted to run away from him, but the telltale signs of her broken mind were showing. She was too afraid of what he would do, if she pushed or resisted him. His stomach churned, anger slowly stirred in his chest. Spreading like wildfire.

Corey noticed when the seer was about to drop his foot, he picked the girl up, and waited for the man. Daring him beneath the mask with a teething venom the seer felt.

But he refused to be challenged in his own town. Dropping his foot, the ground trembled and shook. Corey thought an earthquake was happening, until he caught movement behind him.

WARNING: INCOMING ATTACK

Then he shook his head. Side stepping the big, ball of purple. The drisian’s size back fired on him, as Corey ducked out of his attack, his weight countered sending him spiraling to the floor.

The ground hadn’t stopped shaking, more of the drisian’s prepared to attack Corey.

NewAge: DRISIANS INCREASE THEIR SIZE WHEN PREPARING TO FIGHT. IT MAKES THEM STRONGER, AND THEIR HITS HARDER. BUT, THEIR SIZE IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.

ERGO, YOU CAN TRIP THEM, AND SINCE YOU’RE MORE FLEXIBLE, THIS SHOULD BE EASY.

Corey knew this already, but he liked that NewAge still have him the confirmation that he was right. It was a no brainer after the first attack. He could see why the drisians might worry about getting caught. An army of them, versus a knight, or elves, fairies, even low life demons, would be pathetic.

Not because of their massive size, but due to them having no training on how to use their weight to their advantage.

NewAge: WOULD YOU LIKE TO TEACH THEM?

‘Good to know you can be sarcastic.’ The system was proving to Corey that is had more, human? Emotions than the teen.

The bloodthirst would worry Corey, but it didn’t.

The girl clung to him, having a clear view of the people running at her and the weird man. Only, he didn’t budge. He didn’t , even the seer questioned why.

Is he not afraid of being trampled?

Corey held the girl tighter and whispered. “Can you point me in the direction you can from?”

She peered back, terrified of giving an answer. Her sister was there. She ran to get help, the last thing she wanted to was indanger her. Something in her broke, she was too small. And if she didn’t say, who knows what the man might do to her.

With weak defeat in her tear glazed eyes, she pointed towards the tallest building. Sobbing at the thought of what awaited her for leaving in the first place.

Corey noticed the shift in the girl’s body, how she went from tense to limp. He had to act fast. Corey moved, kicking his foot of the ground. He was in the air in a matter of seconds.

The seer gaped, the feeling of disrespect coiling in his head. He had summoned the entire population to Eldris eyes to attack the weird, demon, and all the man did was stand there like he wasn’t bothered.

He was unafraid and the seer hated it. He unlocked his eyes, searching for the next move the demon would make but once again it was deflected.

Screaming out a battle cry, the seer followed Corey.

Corey landed atop a roof, almost falling through it from the poor wood used to make it. He jumped again, this time getting farther than the previous leap. The little girl was scared, gripping onto the shirt of the male in desperate plea that he wouldn’t drop her. As Corey approached the building, it's yellow paint smooth and glistening with pearly beads scattered all over as decorations.

Corey searched for an entrance, spotting an open window with a long makeshift rope of intertwined bedsheets.

‘That must be how she escaped.’ He thought, still disgusting. She was young. Far too young for any of this.

He slide his body through the space of the window, sliding across the carpeted floor and slamming into his side. He had protected the girl from the impact but she still winced out like she had been hurt.

Corey knelt with her, he peeled the jacket back, checking for something he had all over his body. A scar that refused to heal completely. He found healed injuries all over. Ranging from bite marks, fingernail scratches, and whip lines.

He gulped, his mind put two and two together.

‘NewAge, I need to know if you can contact the nearest elite guards.’

NewAge: YES, I CAN. I CAN CREATE A SONIC WAVE THAT CAN ONLY BE INTERCEPTED BY ELVES. THEY’LL THINK ONE OF THEIR OWN IS CALLING FOR HELP.

AND WITH HER BEING A DARK SKINNED ELF, A VERY HIGH AND VALUED TYPE OF ELF, THEY WILL RIP THIS TOWN TO SHREDS.

‘And for the none elve’

NewAge: KILL THE SEER, AND LEAVE THE REST TO ME, COREY. I HAVE YOUR BACK.

With another sigh that resounded in his ears, Corey agreed.

WARNING: INCOMING ATTACK TO YOUR LEFT. QUICKEST MANUEVER IS TO GET UP, AND RUN. OR, ENGAGE IN COMBAT.

Corey chose the latter, rising to his feet. He stared at the large tumble that tripped to the ground. Bouncing on his stomach. The building didn’t move, built to withstand tremors like this. The male jumped close to Corey, flying high into the air.

His stomach set and ready to crush Corey once he lands. But quickly, Corey sensed the seer and shut his eyes. Crouching again, he thought about swapping places with the man. It was a risk for him to take, seeing as he’s never done it before. He could die and respawn at the very beginning. The Lock keeper would have a field day if he was watching.

When his eyes came back open, Corey saw he was crouched next to the window. A hurtling, almost girlish scream, flew from the mouth of the seer. Who couldn’t, for the brief second he got to think, understand how he got in this position.

When the drisian landed, Corey watched the seer’s body in slow motion. Wanting to know exactly what part of him felt the impact first before there was nothing left.

But a red patch of bones and blood, and a groaning drisian. Who shrunk back to his size. A kid, Corey made note of.

Though he still looked old.

NewAge: HELP IS ON THE WAY. COREY, YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE THEY ARRIVE. ONE OF THE CAPTURED WOMEN HERE IS A HUMAN. AND JUST LIKE YOURSELF, THE ELVES WILL ATTACK OR TRY TO BUY WHAT LOOKS FASCINATING TO THEM.

‘A human?’
