Not enough

With a nod, Rafael admitted that it has been a while since he tasted such a delicious meal and he devoured it to it's last piece almost forgetting his sorrows worries and what would follow his meals.

"Do you know what pill this is?" Gregor asked him immediately after his meals.

"No I don't?" He replied truthfully.

"Of course I didn't expect to know it or to admit it even if you knew.

This is Ramatin a hard drug which was initially used by labourers. It is the best energizing pill known to man.

I will put you to sleep immediately after you consume it. When you dream try to pull yourself out of those chains even if it hurts to a great extent. Sever your chained wrists and ankles off your body if you can then wake up a stronger man.

Tell me when you are ready." He spoke trying as much as possible to make his short speech motivational.

"I am ready now." Rafael replied immediately after his speech though he already had doubts if it were possible.

"Good. Now take this and immediately follow it up with this sleeping pill."

After a deep sigh Rafael ingested the pills, took out his pen and scribbled on a piece of paper, lay down and braced himself up for what would come next.

He slowly began to feel energy surge through his body and few seconds later, sleepiness began to overwhelm.

While he began to flood himself with positive thoughts, he silently prayed that neither the beauty not Seth should appear till he is successful.

He was still nursing these thoughts when he fell asleep and consciousness awoke in his chained body.

When Rafael fell asleep, Gregor continued browsing through the countless books he could lay his hands on but none brought a better idea to him than what he had just done. He gave up the idea and then began playing with whatever he could lay his hands on.

When he felt tired of his actions, He turned his gaze to the sleeping Rafael once more and then he left his office.

The body soothing breeze of the evening welcomed him immediately he left the castle-like building where all the teachers and students convened for lessons. He placed his hands on the transparent wall and the memories of the cries of the children of men came resounding through his head as he reminisced on the occurrences that led to the erection of the glass camps know as the Glabour and the isolation of few student camps by the celestials.

As he stared at the bigger beyond, he could not help but feel nostalgic; tears threatened to fall off his eyes but in response his fingers swiftly trailed over his eye lids.

He and everyone who experienced life before the invasion could not help but feel same and wish that the earth's conditions could return to the way it used to be.

He was re recruited by the celestials to be a teacher in this anti-extinction college when they saw how hard he fought whilst in the military to end the menace and how heartbroken and helpless he became after the first wave of the invasion.

Now by merely looking outside the Glabour, he understood that all his efforts were barely enough. If he really wanted to conquer the invaders, he should put in extra efforts.

With these thoughts running through his mind he clenched his fists and headed back into his office
