CHAPTER 7: CUMMING

“That’s impossible,” Izaak said in an assertive tone, disrupting the chattering that started because of Gard’s words. He moved close to Gard and muttered. “After escorting the princess, get your ass home and get some rest. What you saw was because of your fatigue. I mean… look at yourself.” Understanding what his captain was getting across, Gard nodded in unseemly haste. “Ah - yes. I’ve been working too hard, hahaha. I must have been seeing things because of my fatigue”. Gard spoke in a loud voice that echoed throughout the hall while scurrying out.

As the captain of the imperial knights, Izaak had many duties. One, is to dispel any rumor that could cause harm to the empire or the imperial family. If rumors spread that the cold-hearted emperor has softened up.

Our neighboring kingdoms would see this as a weakness, and I must keep that from happening. Izaak thought as he stared with a suspicious gaze towards the section of the hall where the nobles were seated.

It’s been ten years since the emperor conquered all the northern kingdoms, but there was still insurrection happening from time to time. As the head of the imperial knights, he would set out to stamp them out, but in recent years, the frequency of this uprising skyrocketed. He couldn’t wrap his head around how the rebels’ numbers increased in a short time.

couldn’t help but wonder if the reason these rebels could fund their uprisings was that someone was helping them. A week ago, he received a report from spies in Coplay. The rebels have gathered over two hundred men. They possess armor and weapons that they never had before. The uprisings Izaak dealt with all used pitchforks, hoes, and other farming tools, so how did they get their hands on armor and weapons?

He pondered.

“Captain, the vice-captain is here.”

The words jolted him out of his thoughts. Then he turned towards the entrance of the hall where he saw his vice-captain, Kane., standing beside a lady who had a baby in her arms.

Who is the lady beside Kane? Certainly, she is not a maid. He could tell because she wore a dress that is the latest trend among aristocratic women. So why is she doing a maid’s job?

… Then again, she could just be the child’s nanny. And wanted to accompany her to the hall before handing her to a maid. He thought.

But to his surprise, she did not hand the child over to a maid but walked towards the bridge leading to the altar with gusto. Even though the sacrifice was an unspoken rule among the aristocrats. It was common sense taught to all aristocratic children before they set foot in the palace. so, to see someone go in after knowing this boggled Izaak.

“Sir, I heard you were looking for me?”

He nodded. “Kane, why did you not stop the lady”. Izaak asked in disbelief.

Kane replied immediately with an innocent tone. “I tried, but she didn’t listen and said some weird words.”

“Weird words?” he cocked his head.

Kane nodded in reply. “Yeah, she said you are just a ‘side character’ don’t stop me from meeting my hubby.”

Izaak could only stare in incomprehension. What is this ‘side character’? It was a strange word that he had never heard before.

—----------------------

“Sliver hair and blood-red eyes.”

Liliana kept repeating the description in her head.

“Sliver hair and blood-red eyes.”

That was the description of her favorite character in the novel she loved. ‘Tyrant king’. It was a novel she read, over eight times because she was head over heels for the main character.

“kyaaaah! I can’t believe my hubby is waiting for me at the end of this bridge,” she screamed hysterically, with her voice echoing through the seemingly endless bridge. Sound is isolated on the bridge, so she knew this from chapters she read in the novel. So, no matter how loud she is, only the baby could hear and of course, a baby could not understand her.

Could she?

She kept walking with gusto towards the other side of the bridge where her ‘hubby’ was waiting for her.

After arriving at the altar, Liliana was shocked by how beautiful the main character was. She could never imagine him this beautiful while reading the novel.

Oh… my… gosh, he is so handsome. No matter how the author described his beauty, it could never do justice. If I could bear a son for him, then I can escape my marriage with that fat, stupid Baron.

“This lowly one is honored to grace your majesty’s beauty,” she said in a flirtatious tone. Trying to attract the emperor. On earth, she worked as an actress. She was skilled at seducing the directors to swap her roles from the second lead to the major lead, so she knew how to seduce men of power.

No man can resist my charm and lucky for me, this character I possessed is a beauty. It won’t be long before I have him all to myself. She thought while being fingered by the emperor.

“What do you desire Liliana,” the emperor asked. As if she had expected the question, she replied with haste. “I would like to bear a male heir for your majesty,” she replied as she was close to Cumming.

Ahhh… am close to Cumming. Huh, why is the room upside down…. She thought as her head fell off
