After Bruce got the wind knocked out of him.

The expensive phone that had been aimed at Alex the whole time falls on the ground while the live feed is still turned on to record what Alex did.

Alex didn’t know there were several comments on the live video, and they were anything but good, for example, using words like...

"This guy is too violent!"    

"That's horrible! Why would he do such a thing to the son of the CEO!"

"How can we have such a disgusting person in our company?"

Things like that went on; they were clearly adding insult to injury by questioning Alex's character and his morals and smearing dirt on his reputation.

At this time, the restaurant manager came with a bunch of staff. He scowled at Alex, who was sprawled on the ground as security kept pinning him down. Not wasting his time with Alex, who was an eyesore to him, he hastily bowed toward Bruce. 

"S-Sir, Bruce I apologize for this rude thing, which is misconduct!" The manager profusely apologized.

"Hmmph, you should train your groups properly next time, so they won't allow beggars to enter the establishment!" Bruce reprimanded the restaurant manager.

This caused the manager to become livid with anger, and he directed his hate-filled gaze at Alex as though he were about to swallow him alive. If it weren't for this beggar, the restaurant's reputation and his connection with the son of the CEO wouldn't be smeared!

This mere nobody ruined his plans to get into the good books of Bruce, son of the CEO! The manager gritted his teeth while his glare at Alex intensified. It's this b*stard's thing's fault! 

Just then, Bruce implied something to the restaurant manager, saying that he should call 911, and since there was a police station not too far away, they should arrive sooner rather than later. His security personnel didn't lax on holding Alex down.

"Mr. Bruce, it's done; those officers should be heading here."

"Many thanks, manager Kim; I'll be sure to talk to my father about helping me." Bruce smiled with hypocrisy, and when manager Kim heard that Bruce was willing to say some good words about his deed to his father, he was delighted!

He shook hands with Bruce and thanked him numerous times.

At this moment, Bruce, with a condensing look on his face, shifted his sight at Alex on the floor as he uttered. "Why not apologize? I might change my mind."

There was a long silence inside the restaurant; furthermore, the diners were mostly surprised as they found out who Bruce was, and they didn't dare disturb him while he was dealing with Alex. To them, why would they help a complete stranger when it had nothing to do with them?

"I'm sorry, it's my fault," Alex uttered with difficulty.

"What?" Bruce smirked as he taunted. "I can't hear you quite clearly. Can you repeat that?"

Alex clenched his fist; he could see the look of hesitation and pity on Shenna's face, but it was only for a split second before it was replaced with scorn in her deep brown eyes.  

Had it always been like this?

'Is this my fault? No, it's not my fault... People like Bruce, who were born with a silver spoon, always step on the dignity of others.' Alex thought at the back of his head with deep sadness in his dark eyes.

The weak will always be trampled down.

Actually, there wasn't any particular reason why Bruce was doing this to him; it was because he can! It was that simple, and to them, it was fun...

Bruce knows full well that his reputation is basically over. No one would recruit him for their company after what happened here. The live video was bound to go viral; once it was on the internet, there was no way for it to disappear. Just the mere thought of becoming a "meme" for everyone to laugh at!

And yet this b*stard wanted him to apologize, saying that he wanted to give him a second chance.

For what?! 

Out of mercy?

Then, that would be a huge joke. This isn't an offer.

'He just wants to see me pathetically beg him! This sadistic b*stard took away my girlfriend and ruined my life!' Alex bit the corner of his lips until they bled.

It didn't take long before rushed footsteps could be heard inside the hotel's restaurant. Seconds after the restaurant's security could be seen bringing a couple of police officers, at the forefront was the police chief commander. His thick brows were quite a spectacle as he turned his head and pointed in Alex's direction. 

"Is this the guy?" It was apparent that the police chief commander was already fed with Bruce's side of the story.

Bruce nodded while subtly whispering in the chief officer's ears. This caused him to smirk while glancing in Alex's direction in amusement.

"Bring him to the station."

"What? Shouldn't you assess the situation first?"

"Investigate?" The police chief brushed off Alex's words as he smirked. "There's no need for that; bring him to the station."

Hearing that, Alex went pale and clenched his jaws. They didn't even follow the protocol; they outright arrested him, so he finally knows what's going on. These police officers were in cohorts with Bruce! 

One of the police officers saw Alex, who was dazed as he lay flat on the ground, as he impatiently said. "Are you daydreaming? Move!" 

'Arg.' Alex let out a groan as his chest was struck by the police officer. They were treating him roughly, as though they were handling a murderer!

Alex could only reluctantly stand up against his will as he gazed at Shenna, who was looking at him with a cold and distant expression.

"Shenna...." Alex mumbled as he paused for a second before he forced out a smile as he spoke emotionally. "Is this what you want? I didn't mistreat you. I've given you everything...."

'....I'm even willing to give up my life for you yet. You choose a wolf over me.' Alex said in his heart that, nevertheless, all he could see in Shenna, his now former lover, was coldness and indifference. 

Indeed, she has already made a decision to replace him.

Just then, Alex heard a mocking voice from the police officers.

"Pft, stop with the drama." 

"My stomach hurts, this retard is so cringe-worthy. You should stop watching so many drama movies!"

The police officers cracked up as they patted Alex on the shoulder while pushing him toward the restaurant outside the hotel.

Needless to say, for them to treat him like this even when everything was being filmed live... Alex thought to himself. However, what he failed to recognize was that Brice had made sure to portray Alex as the "bad guy," so no one would side with him!

"Tsk, what a fool." The police officer rudely pushed Alex toward the exit while ridiculing him. "Of all people, why would you mess with the son of a corporate owner? Are you an idiot or what?" 

Alex didn't respond, which made the police officers infuriated for some reason.

On the other hand, Bruce was relieved, but he was also slightly annoyed that Alex still found a way to talk with his woman. He surreptitiously wiped away the nosebleed that had escaped. 

"I'll make that b*stard's life miserable...." Bruce mumbled. Actually, he knew as soon as Alex raised his fist that he couldn't beat him. But that didn't mean he didn't have any other methods to make his life turn into "hell."

Bruce narrowed his gaze toward Alex, who was being shoved inside the police vehicle. 

Meanwhile, Alex sat in a cramped room at the police station, then an unfamiliar male police officer came in, bringing a spark of hope to his dark eyes.

In the back of his mind, he was thinking that since this police officer wasn't present at the hotel's restaurant, he should listen to his side of the story.

However, to Alex's surprise, the police officer directly interrupted Alex as he was about to speak and informed him that someone had filed several charges against him and demanded $15,000 bail or he would go to jail. 

Instantly, Alex blurted out his disbelief. "You're being unreasonable!" 

How could they find him this large amount of money? It couldn't be that much.

"Are you going to pay or not?" 

"I can't...." 

Hearing that, the cop sneered as he left, thinking that Alex was merely a beggar.

At this point, Alex cursed out..

Damn it! 

Looking at the situation and the attitude of all the cops in this station, it was clear at the time that these cops were already bought by that b*stard Bruce!

What was he supposed to do in this situation? He couldn't get so much money in such a short time.

He had already given all his hard-earned money to Shenna, and to boot, he hadn't had any other friends since he met Shenna. He was broke!

He had no way to borrow money....

Fortunately, the cops were neglectful enough to not confiscate his phone. He hurriedly dialed his close colleague at the office. He had no choice but to thicken his face, moments after the phone was picked up on the other side! which made Alex sigh in relief.

"Hello, brother Louis, it's me, Alex, your colleague at the office...." 

Before Alex could even finish his words, the phone was directly hung up.
