ARRIVING IN LOS ANGELES

He stood up from my table with speed and ran away.

I can’t believe such an idiot approached me at my favorite street restaurant. I just came here to have a meal for the last time before I leave Turkey. I continued eating my food.

A couple of minutes later, I was done eating, I stood up and went out of the restaurant. I took a taxi home. About an hour later, I arrived in my bedroom. I went over to my bed and laid down.

A couple of days later, it was finally the day we left the country. I was sitting down in front of the mirror that was at the side of my bed. I was doing my makeup. After I was done with my makeup, I carried my luggage from the bed and went out of my bedroom. Shadow had instructed us the night before to get ready before 9 am and that we would be leaving at 9:30 am. I took out my phone from the black leather trouser pocket. I looked at the time. It was about 10 minutes to 9 a.m. I made my way out of the house.

I arrived at the driveway, I went over to where the black G-wagon we were going to take to the airport was parked. I guess I came earlier than everybody else. A couple of minutes later, Bruce and Murat walked out of the house. They walked over to the jeep. Bruce opened the car trunk and kept his luggage in it; Murat also kept his luggage in it; and I also kept my luggage in it and closed the trunk.

A couple of minutes later,

Shadow arrived at the car. We all got into the car, the driver started the car and drove off. We arrived at the airport. The driver alighted the car in front of the airport entrance and we all came down.

We walked over to the trunk and collected our luggage. We all went into airport, went through all the formalities, and boarded our flight. The flight took off.

About 10 hours later, we arrived in Los Angeles, California. We were all standing in front of the airport waiting for our ride to come and pick us up. It was pitch black in the sky. A couple of minutes later, a big black jeep pulled up in front of us. The driver whined down the glass.

"Shadow!" The man behind the steering wheel yelled. He came down from the car. He walked over to Shadow and they both shook hands.

With the way Shadow shook his hand, I can tell they have known each other for a long time.

"What took you so long? We have been waiting in front of the airport for you," Shadow said.

"There was traffic. L.A is crazy," the man replied. He was wearing a blackout suit. He looked like he was in his 50s.

"Dorian, these are my team," Shadow said as he pointed at us.

The guy walked over to where we were standing and shook our hands one by one as we introduced ourselves to him.

"You guys are welcome to L.A," Dorian said with a smile.

"Now, let’s leave," Dorian said. We all carried our luggage over to the trunk of the jeep and kept it inside.

After that, we entered the car. He started the car and drove off. We arrived in front of a fancy-looking skyscraper building. The way the building was designed, my only guess was that it was a hotel, but there was no sign on the building that indicated it was an hotel.

We all came down from the car, we walked over to the trunk of the car and collected our luggage, after that we stood in front of the building.

Dorian walked over to where we were standing.

"You guys should follow me, let me take you over to the penthouse you will be staying," Dorian said staring at us.

We all went with Dorian into the building. We arrived at the penthouse, which was on the top floor of the building.

Dorian opened the door and we all went in. He took us over to the big living room. As we got there,

"There are multiple rooms in the penthouse; you guys can pick any room you want and you can sleep there," Dorian stated, staring at us with a smile.

I was still curious to know if this was a hotel, "Mr. Dorian is this place a hotel?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, it is not. It is something we call an apartment building here in America," he responded.

"Oh, OK," I muttered.

"Alright, I guess I will be taking my leave now. It is getting late, and besides, you guys need to rest. If you need anything, just push the red button that is close to the entrance of the house, and someone will come up and attend to your needs," Dorian stated.

"OK, thanks for everything," Shadow said with a deep voice as he scuttled over to where Dorian was standing and shook his hand.

"Don't mention it, we are friends," Dorian replied.

"Alright, goodnight guys," Dorian said as he went out of the living room and left the house.

"I am going over to one of the bedrooms. I think I will take a shower and go to bed. It is going to be a very long day tomorrow," Shadow stated as he yearned.

"Goodnight, guys," Shadow said as he picked up his luggage and went out of the living room.

After he left, we all left the living room and went to our various bedrooms, one after the other.

The following afternoon,

We were all sitting down at the dining table in the dining area inside the penthouse.

"So, you understand everything we are going to do now?" Shadow asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I do, but do you think he won’t find out any of it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Don’t worry about that, he won’t. Besides, Bruce is going to forge all the documents. They are going to be flawless. I guarantee you that Rashaad Bin Ahmed won’t find out," Shadow responded.
