Chapter 6: Oops the beauty throws herself on me.

Con watched as Jane flushed at his words and tried to keep a blush from spreading to her cheeks. He also watched her fail and chuckled as she blushed furiously.

Jane didn't know if to count herself lucky or simply die from the level of embarrasment she was feeling at the moment.

She was laying on the body of the man she had been harboring a crush on. And at work no less.

Jane stood up as quickly as she could, getting off Constantine like he was a platter of hot coals and she would get burnt if she lay on him too much.

Con only grinned slightly as she stood up.

Jane was a good person, of course he wouldn't let her fall down when he knew he could do something to prevent it.

A manager of Nurain falling down in front of mere guards didn't feel like something that was supposed to happen, and apart from that, Jane always dressed daringly.

Her outfits usually had a pattern to them, the same pattern that almost every working lady seemed to use when they were dressing up for work, just that Jane dressed more fashionably.

Her pencil skirts always managed to bring out that curvy shape her hips had and then the flower motif top she wore today stopped just short of being a totally low neckline. She had to dress fashionably if she hoped to do her job well and convince people that they should shop Nurain.

Con couldn't watch her just fall and suffer the humiliation of her tight skirt ripping, and he knew it would rip.

John only watched as Jane stood up, a fierce blush on her cheeks and her ears fully red.

Everyone knew that she had a crush on the new recruit. Well Constantine wasn't new anymore so calling him a new recruit would be wrong.

Jane had probably fallen for him after he had defended her against a male customer that was getting too touchy. The incident was one of the reasons why the management had decided to double the amount of security they had already, and that was also the reason why Constantine was now on the security team.

John simply frowned and looked away. He had other things to attend to and he had to take Jane along with him.

He cleared his throat and the female's eyes snapped to him.

"Oh, right i still have to show you where they are."

She dusted herself slightly and shot another grateful look at Con.

"Thanks again."

Con only nodded and went to stand along with his colleagues.

They still had to rearrange the duty roster and assign duties to each team equally. For some obvious reason almost all the tedious and hardcore security jobs were being given to Constantine.

Like accompanying the pick up cars to the docks to pick up a new assignment of jewelry or precious stones.

Most of the time jobs like that came with hazards. Like the same one that had happened the week before and the same event that now forced them to reassign duties on the roaster.

Con had been ordered to trail one of the company cars. A shipment of diamonds had arrived for Nurain and the occupants of the car were to go pick it up and bring it back to the headquarters.

Con was to make sure that nothing happened to the car, and to it's occupants, and on the off case that something did happen to them, he was to make sure that the package got to the office safely.

Whatever happened to it after it had been delivered was none of his business, but as is always the case when a package worth over a two million dollars was involved, something always happened to compromise the situation.

One of the security guards in the car had been shot in the head and Constantine had frozen up mid ignition. He had fallen off his bike and rescued the situation after, but the gun men got away and the driver had passed out due to the sight of blood.

They rushed the dead security guard to the hospital, but the occurrence had left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

Con knew that was one of the reasons why John hadn't fired him, they needed all the help they could get here and Constantine was an asset, whether John liked it or not.

Con felt someone jostle him softly.

"What's got you thinking so much?"

Finiel was the leader of the group of guards Con worked with. He was also the one who had spoken up for him earlier.

Con knew that Finn almost never spoke, and he had been mostly timid when Con had met him. They had both gotten employment at the same time and Finn had someone in the management board pulling some strings for him, the same way almost every other guar here did.

Con didn't mind though.

Even if he was more than qualified to lead the whole squad of security guards, he would rather not. He liked staying at the bottom where no one else could take notice of him too much.

But Alas he was like a blazing star in the sky, impossible to ignore and bound to naturally outshine all the others around him.

Con simply gave a joking smile to Finn and shook his head.

"It's nothing man, thanks for standing up for me though."

Finn only shrugged and gave a don't mention it look.

Con walked over to the roaster to see what duty he had been  put on today.

The other guards gave friendly greetings to him as he passed, telling him not to worry about what John had said, as long as he didn't come to work late again then he was probably fine.

Con only nodded at all of them and even chuckled when some of them made jokes about how Jane had to surely be falling for him.

Con only chuckled and stopped in front of the duty roaster.

He locate his name and smiled.

He had been put on patrol duty.

A scent drifted into his nose and Constantine smiled mischievously at the sweet feminine scent.

Maybe he didn't really have to live that unremarkable life and stay at the bottom that much.
