Chapter 27: The Hidden City.

The three can be seen seated in a round table while waiting for their order to arrive in the restaurant. The area did look suspicious as the lights in there were dim but it seems to be so everywhere. Eugene wasn’t surprised anymore as what he saw in action movies and series were all before his own very eyes.

Adjusting his jacket’s hoodie and his nose mask, he then clears his throat and nods towards Hector’s position, for him to go on with fulfilling his request, which Hector took notice of and leaned forward towards Eugene’s position and started his narration.

“Well as you know, this hidden city is surprisingly called the Hidden City. A city where dark and illegal activities take place such as slave trades, information purchases, assassinations, kidnappings, cyber fraud, illegal schemes and etc. It’s a do or die city, to the extent that sellers and customers here, have their lives at stake since there are no laws guiding this place. In short, all sorts of crime are permitted since anything leading to it is due to business reasons, after all, it’s all part of the transactions.

Casinos, brothels, strip clubs, r rated parties and all sorts of entertainment facility are also available here but to be more precise, it’s more of the, “hide away from the public” than PG. To assure you though, my business is more safe than anyone thinks and I was really lucky to have a connection that led me here and saved me from my stupid investigating job.

To go further on it, my job consist of four things; getting information, investigating the information, backing it up and transactions. I was fortunate enough to get promoted to a transaction department director but when I first met your mother and sir Eric, I was still a spy or an information fetcher but my oh my, how time flies.

Anyways, this place has its ups and downs, after all, it’s dangerous here since every huge corporations have deep connections to this city and the people here are hired spies or killers or informants like me, as well as slaves too. So, no matter what you do here, make sure that your identity is covered and you leak no personal secrets of yours. By any chance, are you the infamous gang leader of a middle school gang, GEORGE?”

Hearing that question, Eugene got surprised and slowly nods his head in agreement that he was correct and Hector excitedly replied, “this is great news, kid. Being someone who owes a lot to your mom, I will grant you the grace of a special service. It seems you are not the only one looking for information on gangs, to be more exact, someone asked for an exclusive information of you and another target, Dr. Steven Devon’s daughter and it really seems like the customer this time around is planning for an ambush or an attack. I can understand that he might be hired but why would they go for the milestones corporation important chess piece’s daughter.”

“When you mentioned Dr. Steven Devon’s daughter, do you mean Velma Devon?” Eugene asked in shock and curiosity.

“Yeah, that is exactly the name of the target. Seeing that you know who she is, is it that you guys are partners in crime and this gang investigation you offered to me is related to him? Well of course it is. On a normal, I am not to disclose my customer’s identity but because of the special service applying to you, I will make an exception.” As he replies, he brings out the red file, brought out the document, placed it on the table and pointed at something on the document and as Eugene looked at what he was pointing at, it read out, “the Black Crooks”.

“Oh, so you mean that the Long Don asked for me?” Eugene asked with a smile on his face.

“It seems like you are more excited than being afraid, I like that. Yeah, that was my customer.” Said Hector.

“Looking at how things are, I have now till two weeks later to prepare for the present he has for me. So, I believe you have sir Eric’s number, do keep in contact with him and tell him about any information related to the Long Don, he is now your number one priority.” Eugene orders as he was so excited like someone who has an adrenaline rush.

“Young sir, is there anything else that is left to do?” Sir Eric asks.

“Seems like it’s time to fill up our ammunition. Sir, let’s go do the necessary, since he is already known to deal on shootouts more frequently than brawls. It is right to settle things his own way since he will be a guest and yeah, we need to higher some cold hearted guys, I might be closing down a gang and replacing his rank.” Eugene suggests.

“Most certainly, young sir. Hohoho.” Sir Eric responds and laughs in agreement and at that moment, the waiter came with their order and the trio had their chance to enjoy their meal and talk about things that were unrelated to their business.

................................

Later, the trio can be seen saying their goodbyes and parting ways to their different respective destinations. From there, the duo, Eugene and sir Eric can be seen heading into an ammunition store with sir Eric as the lead.

Inside the store, different collections of guns from handguns to sniper rifles were displayed. Still checking out the store, they were met with an attendant and purchases were made.

“Anyways, are transport services available?” Sir Eric asked.

“Of course dear sir but extra cost will be applied too.” Said the attendant.

“That is not a problem, here is my address, have them delivered there but as “home facilities”, of course the extra cost, add them all up. I’ll be heading out now.” Sir Eric ordered.

“Thanks for doing business with us.” Said the attendant.

“Young sir, we will now be heading out to acquire some acquaintances for the D-day but as you know, madam might be displeased by your actions.” Sir Eric warns.

“Don’t worry about my mom in that aspect but what you need to worry about is how to convince her to not join in the shootout.” Said Eugene as he chuckles with cold sweat running down his face.

“Hoho, the conviction is what I meant that she will be displeased about.” Sir Eric laughs out loud as he remembers past memories.
