Chp 11 - Circus Animal

After laughing for a while, the guy pinned a glare on him “Okay, loser. That is enough entertainment for the day. Get your poor face out of here now before you make me lose my job”

He said dismissively and he turned to join his partner who was checking people’s invitation cards at the entrance.

A red haze coloured Damianus' vision and he felt like snapping the guard’s burly neck as he followed him. His master’s warning rang clear in his mind though and he gritted his teeth before saying in the most pleasant tone he could summon “I am not…”

The guard swung the baton in his hand behind him without looking back to see where it would hit him. Damianus who never thought that was a possibility reacted late. Even though the baton missed his head, it cracked against his shoulder.

The pain was nothing to Damianus but the humiliation was. That would be the first time anyone would strike him, not even his master had ever done that. He felt a primal urge to sink his fangs into the bastard’s neck
