Suspicions/Secrets

The alarm clock rung and Kelvin lazily stretched his hand towards it but soon retracted it when he couldn't find the snooze button.

He then remembered that Gary had bought a special alarm clock that will only stop when he got up from the bed and left the room. Apparently, it used motion sensor technology.

Kelvin silently cursed Gary before getting up and leaving his bedroom. It wasn't until he left that the alarm clock stopped ringing. He then made a mental note to destroy that clock when he had the chance.

He then felt a vibration coming from his left pocket. He reached into it and pulled out his phone to see that he was getting a call from Gary.

"I hate you and your alarm clock.", Kelvin stated as he answered the call.

"You can hate me later. There are some FBI agents at the office, they want to see you.", Gary replied.

"I'll be there in a few minutes, just need to tidy up first.", Kelvin said before ending the call.

He then walked back inside his room and laid back on the bed so he could sneak in a few moments of sleep when the alarm clock suddenly began to ring again.

Kelvin quickly grabbed the alarm clock and threw it across the room and it crashed hard on the wall. It stopped ringing for a few moments, but it suddenly started again.

At this point Kelvin's annoyance knew no bounds. He was ready to throw this thing in his swimming pool but he then remembered that it was water resistant. He instead took this as a sign and got up to go freshen up.

As he left the room, he could no longer hear the alarm clock ringing again and he swore at that moment that he would destroy that thing once he got back.

....

Kelvin parked at the reserved space at the parking lot and stepped out of his car, heading towards the sky scraper's entrance when he spotted multiple police vehicles at the front of the building.

Without sparing it another glance, Kelvin walked into the building and could see numerous police men on the first floor. He unhurriedly passed them amidst their gazes fueled by multiple emotions.

He then spotted Gary walking towards him with an unbothered expression. This wasn't the first time that this was happening anyway.

"There are a lot more police men than last time.", Kelvin said as Gary reached his side.

"There has been some civil unrest in the city and many people are blaming us for what happened in the last two days.", Gary responded.

"Although there is no evidence to prove that we did it.", Gary quickly added after Kelvin glanced at him.

"Ok, but that doesn't explain why the police officers are here.", Kelvin said before stepping into the elevator along with Gary.

"You came a bit late so you didn't see the crowd of misled people who where rioting outside the building. The police helped us disband them.", Gary responded.

Kelvin remained silent after those words. He knew something like this would happen when he ordered that killing spree, but it was not something that he gave two shits about. He was sending a message, that was all that matters.

The only reason these people suspected that he had something to do with this was because the federal officers made connections between his attackers and most of the people they found dead.

As expected in society, there would always be people who made moves based on conspiracies rather than actual proof. The FBI agents were coming to him since they couldn't find any useful leads and were just following any suspicions that they had to see if it would lead them somewhere.

The elevators doors opened at the top floor and they both stepped out and walked through the passage way towards Kelvin's office.

Kelvin opened the door to see three people wearing FBI uniforms, standing in his office. He promptly ignored them and moved towards his desk and took his seat. Only then did he finally turn his attention to the men.

"Good morning Mr Kelvin. I'm already sure you know why we are here.", The man at the lead said.

"Simon, you know how much I hate these visits don't you?", Kelvin asked.

"Of course," Simon responded, "But I'm just doing my job."

"What do you want this time?"

Simon then walked towards the desk and dropped a file on it. Kelvin reached for the file and opened it up to see multiple pictures of multilated bodies and symbols of the cross with a halo on different parts of the bodies.

"Okay. And what is this suppose to be?", Kelvin asked as he dropped the file back on the desk.

"Those were some of the bodies of the people that were killed a few days back. The marks on their bodies appeared on every single one of them.", Simon responded.

"I still don't see what would warrant you coming to my office Simon.", Kelvin stated.

"Well, those symbols are the official markings of one of the most dangerous and elusive mafia gang in the whole world, the apostles."

Kelvin raised his bar to indicate that he was still confused. All Simon was doing here was stating facts and none of those facts concerned him in anyway.

"Let me get straight to the point then," Simon said, "Why would a big name mafia gang like that, attack the bad landers that has not even proved itself to be a challenge to them, just after they attacked YOUR convoy? That seems like too much of a coincidence for it to be a coincidence."

"Unfortunately for you Simon, it is a coincidence.", Kelvin said with an unbothered expression.

The apostles were one of the biggest gangs in the world. They had eluded every intelligence agency that walked this planet, to do all of their illegal activities. It still remained a mystery as to how they operated. The only information they had in the apostles was the name of their leader, saint Jude.

Unsurprisingly, no matter how much the FBI tried to dig out on this character, they couldn't even find a single thing. It was as if he didn't even exist.

Normally the apostles just stuck to selling of drugs in large quantities. Their sales usually amounted to billions of dollars in a single drop! Rarely did they ever involve themselves in anything that would bring zero profit.

Government officials around the world have never been successful when it came to intercepting their drug deals since they never knew when and where it happened. They only knew that the apostles were involved when there was a large amount of hard drugs in the streets.

In summary, whenever the apostles were involved with something, it never boded well for anyone who was working against them.

Now that multiple lines were being drawn towards Kelvin after this incident, everyone had their eyes turned towards them. However, the FBI knew that there was no proof that placed Kelvin in a bad spot.

They had even found out that the bad landers had attacked his convoy because they wanted to make a quick pretty penny, but it didn't end well for them.

"I have nothing to hold you with Mr Kelvin, but please keep in mind that my eyes are on you.", Simon said.

"Sure."

Simon nodded and signalled to his men and they all left the office. They may not have seen anything that would have helped them in their investigation, but it didn't mean that they would stop.

A frustrated sigh escaped from Kelvin's mouth. He hated when things like this happened and that was why he didn't like involving his personal life with his.... other life.

Kelvin's phone vibrated and he saw that he got a message from Cassidy. He read the contents and a smile formed on his lips.

"Hey, are you still down to hang out?"
