Chapter Three: A Deal.

Chapter Three: A Deal.

EVEN though they started in a not-so-ordinary situation, they decided to get married again and register their marriage. They think that it isn’t a bad decision because they are comfortable and happy together…

After the Bugatti Centodieci parked in front of a villa, Paxton immediately held his hand for Lorelei after he opened the car’s door for her. She flashed a beautiful smile at him and then accepted his hand.

“Thank you,” she said.

“It’s a pleasure, My Lady,” he replied. He guided her out of the car.

After they registered their marriage, they decided to visit Lorelei’s family to tell them the news. Paxton can see how excited Lorelei is to see her family after two weeks, especially since she has recovered her beauty now.

“This is our family’s villa. It wasn't as luxurious as yours but…”

He squeezed Lorelei’s hand. “No worries, I think your family’s villa is fine and beautiful. It is beautiful in its own way,” he replied.

“My family loves me so much, they only want the best for me. I’m sure they’ll be happy once they see me,” she happily said.

“We left after the wedding without telling them. They didn't even call us to know our whereabouts. Did they really love you?” Paxton asked in a bitter tone. Because he wasn't convinced that her family loves her. If they did, why did they let her marry someone they barely know? Why do they don’t even care at all?

This is the question that kept Paxton’s mind busy over the past two weeks. That is something weird.

“Maybe they were too busy with our business. You know that my parents are business owners,” she replied then shrugged.

Paxton just gave her a forced smile before they continued entering the luxurious villa. Honestly, the house was wonderful, it wasn’t as grand as his villa but it was great. It has been ten years, they seemed a wealthy family, why didn’t they find a doctor to treat Lorelei when their family can afford that?

While that question was still running into Paxton’s mind, the door opened and a woman in her mid-50s went out. She seemed confused.

“Excuse me? Who are you?” she asked.

Paxton moved aside to see his mother-in-law but she was too focused on Lorelei like she was trying to think where she saw her.

“Mom! This is me, Lorelei!” she excitedly replied.

Mrs. Sharon Marshall was startled after she introduced herself. Now she looked up at Paxton who was behind her.

“L-lorelei? Is that really you?” she asked. Her eyes went to Paxton, to Lorelei, and to Paxton, she was really confused and couldn't believe what she was seeing. “B-but how? Oh my God! I can’t believe this! Come in!”

They went inside the house and they went straight to the receiving area. Mr. Morgan Marshall was sitting on a sofa while drinking his coffee and when he saw them, he was also surprised.

“Lorelei!” Morgan exclaimed. “My daughter? Is that you?”

She smiled at them and then her mother quickly held Lorelei’s hand, guiding her to sit on the opposite sofa. Paxton felt out of place but he just ignored it because he thinks that maybe they were just too amazed at how beautiful Lorelei is right now!

“I can't believe that you recover your face. How did this happen?” Lorelei's mother asked.

As soon as they sat down on the sofa, Lorelei squeezed Paxton’s hand, turning her head to him, and then smiled.

“He saved me, Mom and Dad. The reason why we didn't contact you for two weeks. He treated my scars,” she said, still looking through Paxton’s eyes.

“Oh? Really? So, what is he? A dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?” Sharon asked.

“I am a dermatologist—”

“Ah! Whatever! We don’t need a son-in-law that is just a mere dermatologist!”

He didn't even finish his words, Lorelei’s mother stopped him. Honestly, it insulted him that she stepped on his profession.

“Mom?” Lorelei defended.

“Your mother was right. Now that you’ve recovered your beauty, you can find a wealthy man with a stable business. Like your billionaire fiance back then. In fact we can talk to him again!” Morgan added.

“Mom, Dad! Paxton is my husband now!”

“Then divorce him, we can pay for compensation!” her mother said, then turned her head to him.

Paxton couldn't help but feel mad. He clenched his fists while grinding his teeth, trying to stop himself from bursting out of anger. Lorelei’s parents are worse than he imagined!

“We will not get a divorce,” Paxton said, clenching his jaw.

Morgan turned his head to Paxton. His eyes squinted. “Who are you to refuse our order? Divorce my daughter! She will marry her ex-fiance! If you want we can compensate you for treating her—”

“I. Won’t. Divorce. Her,” he still insisted. “We just registered our marriage earlier this morning, and now you want us to divorce?”

This is insane!

“Mom, Dad! I love him, and he helped me. We love each other, please let us go.”

“No, Lorelei. We are still your parents, we raised you and you have to obey our order!” Sharon demanded.

Paxton closed his eyes tightly, and inhaled sharply before opening his eyes, and stood up.

“What do you want then?” he asked.

They all stopped in amusement. Paxton’s bravery made Morgan Marshall scoff and laughed a little.

“I want a $100 million deal with Golden Realty Group, can you deal with that?” he laughed sarcastically. “I’m sure you can’t! You are just a mere dermatologist who doesn't know anything about business!”

Paxton smirked. If Morgan Marshall only knows who was in front of him, he would surely kneel.

“I can do that,” he said calmly.

Lorelei stood up as well and then held onto his arm, squeezing it gently.

“Paxton, are you sure? Please don't make a hastened decision…”

“I can get you the contract for it,” he said in final.

Shaking his head, Morgan took the box of cigarettes that were on the table then took out a stick. Lightened it with a lighter then puffed a smoke.

“Alright, I’ll give you a chance, stupid bastard. Give me the $100 million deal and I won’t interfere with your marriage with my daughter. That deal was a good opportunity for my family. Can you do it within ten days?” he asked, arrogantly.

“Dad! That was too much—”

Paxton stopped Lorelei from talking.

“Ten days?” he asked.

The old Lord of the house chuckles. “Why? You can't do it within ten days? Then just divorce my daughter!”

“You’re giving me too much time. I can do it by tomorrow,” he said confidently.
