Chapter 58: Supply Office

"Let's compare the Grain Pellets I've refined with those included inside the monthly resources bag. This way, it would enable me to identify the difference." Chen Tu came up with a smart idea. Because this was his first time refining a pill, he was clueless about what to do next.

In his case, there's nothing better than comparing his product with those available inside his resources bag. After all, those Grain Pellets had to pass a certain threshold in quality before distributing them to the disciples.

The six Grain Pellets were separated into two even sides. The one on the left is his product, and those on the right are from the grotto. Appearance-wise, there's really nothing much to nitpick about.

As for the size and smell, the one supplied by the grotto was slightly better than his own. But such disparity was normal, considering this is Chen Tu's first successful batch. Furthermore, the quality of a pill is greatly affected by the alchemist who refined them.

With sufficient practice and accumulation of experience, Chen Tu would eventually come to this level and quality. Of course, it was too early to make such a claim. After all, merely having talent, skills, or capital wasn't enough.

One has to have at least two or all three, along with some luck, to be publically accepted as a full-fledged alchemist. And it wasn't overrated to say there's still a long way for Chen Tu.

Still, this first success definitely boosts his self-confidence by a little.

With four and a half hours remaining on the room usage, Chen Tu had no time to waste. By rationing the process of each cauldron to fifteen minutes, Chen Tu narrowly refined everything he could five minutes before time was up.

Although he had left the Training Hall in a hurry, Chen Tu still managed to ensure that nothing was left behind. As for the room's cleanliness, that would be the worker's responsibility to clean it up.

(Hu... Hoo... I've really overestimated myself and the time needed to refine everything... Looks like I'll have to allocate my time better the next time...)

He spoke to himself while resting on the available benches outside the Training Hall. Because he was in a hurry, he had a few failures in the eighteen remaining sets of ingredients. The losses here were around three Spiritual Coins.

It would be pointless, even if he managed to keep them aside. After all, fresh ingredients like them had a short shelf life. And after getting exposed to the Alchemy Room's temperature, those Spiritual Ingredients would spoil faster.

Luckily, his last three attempts were his best so far. He could even confidently says there are a few Two-Star Grain Pellets within them.

After enough rest, it was time for Chen Tu to check on his results. Although he didn't deliberately show his wealth to the public, the sound from the pill containers inside his bag still attracted the attention of passersby.

Unless he was wealthy enough to possess a Spatial Jade, something like this was unavoidable. Of course, he had another choice: inspect them after returning to his room.

But was it worth the hassle?

Chen Tu's hard work had turned into fifty-six Grain Pellets. With the capacity to hold ten pills in a single bottle, Chen Tu had to use six pill containers to keep everything in an enclosed atmosphere.

Such practice wasn't essential, but it would greatly benefit the user while traveling around. After all, nobody like to move around with the medicinal pellets knocking one another inside their bag.

As long there's nothing wrong with the pill evaluation, Chen Tu could expect to receive twenty-eight Spiritual Coins from selling everything. Although he still had a deficit of three coins from deducting the waste and room rental, the amount was still bearable.

Plus, the precious part here was his experience, which was priceless.

Furthermore, as long Chen Tu maintains this level of performance, won't he offset his losses in his next attempt? Perhaps, he could even expect a small profit from there. And his only concern was ensuring that the quality was there.

After resting enough, Chen Tu visited the Supply Office to deliver his products. And as usual, queuing was necessary here. With over ten thousand disciples in this Outer Grotto, it was impossible to directly use the facility without queuing.

It took Chen Tu close to fifteen minutes before his turn. And coincidentally, the worker attending Chen Tu was an acquaintance. He was also the same person who previously handled the matter of Spirit Desertification Pills.

"What can I do for you today, junior?" the worker asked. It was impossible for him to not recognize Chen Tu. After all, how many disciples here could easily take a Bronze-Titled Alchemist Token out to verify his identity?

"Greetings, senior. I would like to hand a few pills over for inspection. I hope it's possible." Chen Tu started his sentence with a greeting before touching his reason for coming here. Subsequently, Chen Tu placed six pill bottles on the table.

Within the bottles were the fifty-six Grain Pellets he refined himself.

"They're all Grain Pellets? Alright, give me fifteen minutes to check their quality." the worker replied with a smile. How can he not respond to Chen Tu's cordiality? Furthermore, this junior had quite a solid background.

"Please, senior." Chen Tu nodded. The worker left with the six pill bottles afterward. Chen Tu can only patiently wait until the worker returns with the result.

In the meantime, the wait allowed Chen Tu to observe the situation inside the Supply Office. Unlike the Mission Hall, the Supply Office's main concern was focused on external requests. This place is also where the assignment with big rewards was available to participate.

Of course, the procedure differed from how the Mission Hall operates. After all, Mission Hall's main concern was on internal matters. Hence, the reward was much less in comparison but safer in general.

The number of disciples coming here for an assignment numbered in the hundreds. Furthermore, each was an experienced disciple with proper qualifications, expertise, and cultivation.

Whether in herb gathering, smelting, hunting, alchemy, or protection, too many capable disciples are available to be recruited. Needless to say, these people were here because they're all talented individuals.

(Wow... This is... Amazing...)
