Chapter 5

The next day, Daniel went to the address the lord offered him,BKT Enterprise it was a great building. When he entered, he saw many young employees working, some were in their twenties, others in their thirties, older men and women. Everyone was busy with work, everyone seemed focused and serious.

This place is amazing ! This is a dream come true!

He smiled, feeling very happy, he walked to the reception and said :" Hi! I'm here to get a job." 

The receptionist was a beautiful girl. Her eyes were big and bright, her hair was black and shiny like silk, her skin was smooth as silk, she wore a pink blouse and a pair of matching pants, she was very beautiful, she looked like she could model for any fashion magazine.

" Hello sir! Can I have your name please? She asked" 

" Of course! I'm Daniel Biao" he replied. 

" Okay! Wait !" She said before made a call.

" Good morning! "

"..."

" Yes a certain Daniel Biao says he is here for a job" she said.

"..."

" Yes" she said looking at him

"..."

" Okay! Thank you and I will tell him" She said before hanging up.

obviously someone had told her that Daniel would be here to work.

" I just communicated with the manager, he said he will be there soon. So sit here and wait" she said to him, pointing to a chair next to her, to her right.

" Thank you!" Daniel said .

The girl giggled and said: " You're welcome" .

She tried to start a conversation with Daniel because he was handsome and could get a nice job in such a big company. 

" Are you new to this country?" she asked.

"No i'm not." he answered.

" Me I'm! " she continued.

" Where are you from?" He asked.

"I'm from China" she replied.

" Oh wow! That's so cool!" 

" Thank you!" She smiled .

" I was there once." He said.

" Really?" she said tucking a lock of hair sensually behind her ear. " Would you like something to drink?" She asked .

"No thank you. I'm fine"

" Ok ! 

she thought about what she could say to him to make the conversation lastshe thinks about what she could say to him so that the conversation takes a long time.

"Do you like it here? Do you like America? Is it better than China?" He asked.

"I like it here, yes, it's much different than China" she said.

"How is life in China?" he continued.

"It's very hard to live there. People are very poor, especially the farmers. They are underpaid, they are not treated well, they are considered as slaves" She explained.

"Wow! I didn't know that! What do you do in this country?" He asked

"I am studying business management and marketing at university" she explained.

"Oh wow! Nice!" he said.

"Thank you!" she said.

"Where do you study?" he asked.

"In the capital of our country" she replied

"Wow! That's far from here!" He said surprised.

"That's correct!" she said with a beautiful smile to make you drool.

They talked for a while, until the manager arrived.

When he entered, he was a tall, handsome guy, he was wearing a business suit and a tie, with a black leather briefcase in hand. He looked very serious.

"Good morning!" he greeted them.

"Good morning manager" they both replied.

"You must be Daniel?" manager asked pointing daniel .

"Yes sir. I 'am" he said. 

" Okay follow me!” he said then turned to leave.

Daniel followed him, but before leaving, he said goodbye to the receptionist and she sent him an imaginary kiss , To which he smiled shyly, he was not good with women, he had never had a girlfriend.

The manager took Daniel to his department.

The manager and Daniel arrived in the office, all the people here had started their work. There were two men and one woman.

The manager introduced Daniel to his colleagues.

" Hello everyone ! to your attention!” the manager said to capture their attentions.

They all stop what they were doing to listen to him, he resumed "I would like to introduce you to Daniel your new colleague" he said pointing to Daniel.

"Hello!" they all responded, " Hello!"

Everyone was surprised at how handsome and good-looking Daniel was .

" Daniel has been hired to be one of our sales representatives " he continued.

" Hi! I'm Daniel Biao!" he said greeting everyone.

"Hi! My name is Laura!" The girl said with a beautiful smile .

"Nice to meet you! I'm Daniel" he replied.

" Welcome to BKT Enterprise!" she said.

" Thank you! It's a pleasure to work with you" he said.

" I hope so too! Let's work together and improve our company! " she said smiling.

 The man sitting at the desk, opened his drawer and pulled out a file from it, then he handed it to Daniel.

"Here is your employment contract,"he said.

After reading the contract, Daniel smiled, he did not sign it yet.

"Sir, I would like to ask you something first."

"What is it?" Manager asked.

"Why does your employee need to be a bachelor?" Daniel asked.

"Because we prefer that kind of person!" he said.

"But why?" he asked again.

"Well, our company's policy states that there should only be a single male employee"

" Why?" he asked.

"We don't want to create an environment where the girls feel uncomfortable. We don't want to create an environment where a girl is harassed by another man" he said.

"But the employee doesn't harass you or any other girl!" he said.

"Well, if we hire more guys, maybe the harassment will lessen. Our company's policy is very strict on this matter" he said.

"So you prefer to have no women at all?"

"Of course not! Just let us hire a single woman" he said.

"There is nothing in the law that prevents you from hiring a woman" Daniel argued.

"I don't care about the law! My company's policies are more important than laws!" he said.

" Ooh okay!" Daniel said not convinced, but tired of trying to convince him.

" And you Paul " the manager said pointing a man older than all the others, one of his henchers, Paul turned to the manager and the manager said " 'take care' of Daniel. " 

" Don't worry! We won't hurt him! " the hencher said.

With the words and the eye contact between the manager and his hencher Paul, Daniel knew they had some plots. But didn't know which. And if it was bad or good ones .

" Thank you!" Daniel said more out of respect than envy.

"Okay go back to your work!" The manager said then left the room. 

Daniel looked around curiously, he was amazed by the office, everything was perfect.

" How long have you worked here?" he asked Laura.

"Three years now!" she said.

"Woow ! Why did you decide to work here instead of another company ?" he asked Curious.

"Because I love my job, I like the manager and I think this company has a promising future" she replied.

"Me too! I'm glad to be here!" he said.

" Good!" she said.

Laura explained to Daniel about the company, its products, and its mission.

"We produce high quality products, we manufacture products for other companies and we sell them abroad. Our products are the best! " she said proudly.

"Really? I didn't know that!" Daniel said.

"Well! Now you do! " she said smiling.

After talking for a while, with her , He started to get hungry.

"Is there any food in the kitchen?" he asked.

" Sure! Go ahead and help yourself! " she said.

Daniel went to the kitchen, the kitchen was very spacious, it had a big table, a fridge and many cabinets where he found different kinds of snacks.

"Wow! This is amazing!" he said.

"Thank you!" She said.

He wanted to eat something small, since he was hungry.

" Do you want anything?" He asked.

" No thank you. I'm fine" she said.

He took some snacks to take with him.

After eating, Daniel felt that something was wrong, he knew that this company was dangerous, and he had a feeling that things would not end well,

but he didn't know why.
