Chapter 8: Car Showroom

"Mr Piere! Thank you for serving me so well," Killian praised him.

"I have to serve the young master in the Spencer family. In the future, whenever and wherever you need me, then I will always be ready for you," replied Piere, happy to be praised by his VVIP guest.

"I wanted to invite you to dine together at Adam's Restaurant, if you don't mind," Piere tried to attract Killian's attention by inviting him to eat.

It was an opportunity to get to know the big, powerful man of the giant Spencer Group. By getting close to the heir, one's social standing and status will rise. It was his chance. Piere unleashed his little thoughts.

After all, the Spencer Group owned the bank he worked for all these times. Being able to seek attention, and serve Killian, would make his life more advanced and influential.

"There is a favour and a return, a purpose and a goal." That was their principle.

"Thank you for the invitation, Mr Piere. But for now, I can't. Maybe I will make it up next time," Killian declined.

"Whenever you have time. I'll be happy to wait," replied a somewhat disappointed Piere, though he tried to hide it.

As someone who had experienced some dirty tricks, Piere understood very well what the rejection meant. Although disappointed, he still smiled at Killian.

"Then I'll excuse myself. I have other things to do," Killian cut in suddenly when it looked like Piere was about to make another point.

Hearing those words, Piere volunteered to take Killian around the city. But Killian refused subtly.

Killian, although still young, also understands the philosophy of life. Piere, who was sweet-talking him, was to use him for personal gain.

So, Killian subtly refused Piere's offer. On the other hand, the manager, who had been silent, returned after cashing out Killian's money.

This time the woman ventured to speak up, "Perhaps you need a lift from me. It just so happens that my working hours are over today. So if you'd like, I will replace the president as your guide."

Sophie thought Killian was young and would naturally like to be with a pretty girl like her. But an offer that falls from the lips of a young woman, whose beauty is unmistakable, makes Killian misbehave and seems a little less than pleased.

Because of his experience and judgement, Killian politely declined the bank manager's offer. He did not want to disappoint either of them. So with a heavy heart, Killian refused the offer and walked alone.

Killian's indirect rejection, of course, disappointed Sophie. But there was nothing she could do about a man like Killian. Who would dare to deal with Killian nowadays? So, Sophie chose to keep quiet rather than keep pushing, which would only worsen things.

The clock reads 4. Killian has been at the bank for about an hour. Before it was afternoon, Killian decided to leave the bank. So, he rushed down from the top floor to the bank's lobby, accompanied by the chairman and manager, Sophie.

The presence of the three of them, of course, made the place a little noisy. It drew their attention to Killian. Many of the young female employees, trying to charm Killian, were looking at him.

"Who is that guy? His face is quite handsome. If he wants me, I'm willing to be his girlfriend," said one of the girls in the lobby.

"I even want to be his mistress," continued another friend, even crazier.

"Hush! Be careful what you say! Sophie will get angry, competing with us," she loudly coded for silence.

By then, Killian was already out of the bank and quickly moved away. And ordered an online taxi to take him to the car showroom.

He wanted to go to the car showroom not far from the bank. It only took about 5 minutes to drive. Killian was already inside the car showroom, if only because there was no traffic on the road.

A young woman and another car salesperson rushed to greet Killian. Incidentally, only a few prospective buyers were hanging around at that time because it was probably too late in the afternoon to make a transaction.

"Good afternoon, sir! How can I help you?" the saleswoman asked Killian as politely as possible, even though, in her heart, she underestimated him.

"Oh yes! I need a car of the latest make and model. Do you have it in stock?" asked Killian confidently.

"Oh, there you are, sir. Let me show you the goods," the saleswoman said, somewhat amused, then walked over to a car that didn't look new anymore.

"Is this what you're looking for?" the saleswoman asked.

"Huh...! Isn't this an old second-hand car? I want the latest model," replied an offended Killian.

"Didn't you want to find the latest car? Yes, this is it," she retorted, starting to get irritated. She behaved this way because she assumed Killian would never be able to afford the latest car.

Judging by his appearance, he was neither rich nor essential. From any point of view, no one would believe Killian. So, it was only natural that the car dealer's salesperson also underestimated him.

The people still in that place turned their heads towards Killian and the saleswoman. Some looked with a condescending look. Some were directly insulting. Some gruffly mouthed.

"A riff-raff like you deserves that used car. It's not expensive; it's only a few tens of thousands of euros," the man said haughtily.

Killian, who heard the insulting words, turned his head towards the voice that insulted him earlier. What surprised the man who shouted earlier when he saw the person he had just offended?

"You?" the man shouted in surprise.

"Oh, Mr Robert, it is! I wonder which scum has such a foul mouth," Killian replied nonchalantly.

"You're the scum. The useless son-in-law. Scum son-in-law, sharing a meal with the wife. How dare you insult me! It turns out that after being kicked out of Julietta's house. Now you have become a hobo!" Robert insulted, adding to the heated atmosphere, then continued his insults.

"You want to buy a car; that’s what you deserve," Robert said arrogantly.

He points to a used car, which is much worse than the previously used car. Killian doesn't care about the man's insults. He chose to move on, wandering around the showroom. Being ignored made Robert even angrier.

"Where are you going?" he shouted harshly.

Killian said nothing and kept walking. His gaze fell on a car placed in a separate room. It was very elegant, metallic white, and wrapped in a bit of jet black on the back and front body.

"That's the car I want," he thought to himself.

"Hey... hey... hey...! You riff-raff, don't dream of owning a luxury car like that. You know what kind of car it is. Ha?" snapped Robert arrogantly.

"Honey! I want that car. You promised to give me anything for my birthday," a young woman suddenly heard in the room.

Killian glanced at the woman as if he knew her but forgot when and where.

Next to the woman stood a slightly older man, probably her sugar daddy. The man seemed to shake his head, indicating that there was no way he could afford such an exorbitant car. But he didn't want to show it to the people there.

The car saleswoman rushed forward, approaching the couple. With a friendly demeanour, the salesman began his cunning trick.

"The car is suitable for the lady and gentleman. It's a brand-new car, the only one in town. Hard-earned and limited in production by the manufacturer. It's a Bugatti Cintodieci. That's the name and brand. A car with a price tag of 8 million euros."

"It has a V12 engine, 3.5 litres, and its maximum power is 1,600 horsepower. The car has an acceleration of 0 - 100/hour. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 380 km/h."

"If you are interested, we will take care of it. It's on the road today for you," said the saleswoman, pleased that she had recited the car's specifications so smoothly.

She hoped the man who came with the young woman would be interested in her explanation. If the woman sold the car, she would get a high commission from the dealership where she worked.
