Chapter 29: New Vagabonds

"You can't just kick us out of our own home. We've lived in this house for a long time," Granny Smith said with emotion.

"Your husband has borrowed money from our bank and hasn't repaid the remaining loan. The collateral is this house. Please read the agreement," the officer replied again.

"You're the devil; if we get out of this house, where will we live?" Emma said matter-of-factly. She didn't know the truth. But Granny Smith was aware of the bank loan issue, and that was long ago.

"That's none of our business. All we know is that you have to get out. This house is in foreclosure, and it doesn't belong to you anymore," the foreclosure officer said.

The notice weakened Smith's grandmother. To her, this house was her family's last asset, but now the heartless bank had taken it from her.

"Why does bad luck keep befall my family? Is it because of that useless Killian?" said Granny Smith to herself.
