Chapter 22: Escape

The large bird stood close to the cave entrance, its large black eyes surveying the area for its eye. Although it could see the cave entrance, it couldn't see much in the cave itself, since its eyes were heavily reliant on light and it could barely see in the dark.

If Elisa had known this fact, she wouldn't have been so cautious as she was being right now. Poking her head slowly out the side of the rock she was hiding behind, instead of looking over it, she peeked to see if the bird had left yet. Although she saw that it was still by the cave entrance, she found herself fascinated in spite of the situation (there was also a good amount of terror mixed in). The bird was huge, almost as tall as a full grown human being. It had a long, thin neck like a vulture, a head resembling an eagle, huge red talons, and long wings which a long, sickle clawed finger at the tip.
