Chapter 23: More to solve

A whirring sound was the first thing she heard before opening her eyes. The opened doors of the metal wardrobe was the first thing she saw. She waited for a moment, blinking her eyes and twitching her fingers, testing to see how disoriented she was from the experience. However, to her surprise, aside from a slight dizziness, she was completely fine! There were no lingering effects, no feelings of nausea, or being drained of all energy. She was able to move normally.

Elisa stepped out of the wardrobe, and into the room, looking around as she did. OK, maybe there was a lingering effect, if only in her eyes. She half expected to see the sunny meadow or the bright hillside. In fact, she had to blink a few times more to get readjusted to reality.

"Hello?".
