At the banquet.. 

There were so many bigshots from every portion of business and other fields. It was called an annual event. Every year, many business tycoons come here to build their connections.

Nira was not different from them and it was her third time to attend this. 

All these two years, she came alone and entertained some big shots to win their favour to expand her company but this year she actually came with a date and when everyone saw that they were shocked. 

Not only did she come with a date but the pretty boy was too handsome. 

He was like those idols in the entertainment industry.. 

He was exuding a charming aura around him which was pleasing not like the lady beside him who was rather cold and graceful. 

Those boys were actually kinda hurt seeing their dream princess finally found someone and the person's beauty was rare beyond thinking.

Even the girls were envious seeing his beauty which was as beautiful as the first flower of spring. For them it was already a good thing that he was a boy or else they could not handle the pressure of two omnipotent beauties at the same time. 

Kevin heard some of them were calling her 'Cold Beauty' and he guessed it must be because of her cold and aloof personality. 

After entering, Nira and Kevin went to Mr. Win, the host of the party, greeted him. 

"Ms. Nira Smith, you are getting beautiful day by day. " Mr. Win looked at them with lascivious eyes. 

"Mr.Win you are flattering me. " Nira smirked as her gaze turned colder. 

Kevin, who was beside her, tightened the grip on her hand unknowingly. 

He.. didn't like the way this oldie talked to his wife. 

He could understand that Mr. Win was upto no good.

But the real shock was yet to come. 

Nira felt the grip around her hand and grabbed his finger to comfort him.. 

When she saw that he had calmed down enough, Mr. Win asked," Who is this flower boy with you? He is pretty.. "

In this circle everyone knew that Mr. Win had his eyes for every sex and seeing his shamelessness Kevin wanted to punch him hard but kept controlling himself. 

"Ms. Smith, I do like your design and suggestions. But it's just that I want something more. " He again landed his hungry gaze at Kevin. 

"Then I think we are not suitable. Thank you. '' By saying she was about to leave from their but turned around and said, " Mr. Win, he is my husband. "

Kevin understood the clear meaning of her words. It was written all over that "He is mine. Come if you want. " He smiled by thinking how possessive his wife was. 

Nira still had some people to talk to and as Kevin was feeling bored, he excused himself from her for some time and wanted to have some fresh air. 

Nira didn't mind letting him be like himself and he went ahead to go to the balcony but he stopped in the middle when he glanced at the dessert center

"Wow! So many desserts! " Kevin exclaimed in joy. 

He really had a sweet tooth! 

He took a piece of almond pastry and had it.. 

"So yummy! " It was his favorite.. 

While eating he forgot to maintain the etiquette and ended up dirtying his face. 

Those by standards started whispering after seeing him like that.. 

"Look at this boy, he has no manners! "

" I heard he came with Nira Smith, I wonder if she has poor taste or else why does she like him who doesn't even have any table manners!"

" Tsk tsk! Who knew that the so-called Cold Beauty is actually like that when it comes to choosing a partner! "

"Cheh! It's so disgusting! "

" Of course it's disgusting.. " Ace smirked behind them. 

"Woah! " They were so shocked, " When did you come here? "

"Shh.. " Ace's smirk widened and he said , " That doesn't matter. Just wait for the show. Let me give you more fun. "

By saying Ace moved forward to Kevin who was totally unaware of this as he hadn't had anything since morning, he was hungry.. 

"Huh! " Ace sneered, "look at this country bumpkin, tsk tsk! "

When Kevin heard him, he looked at Ace whose eyes were full of mockery which made Kevin frowned. 

"What are you doing here? " He asked with a cold and grumpy voice. 

"Kevin.. My sissy.. " Ace addressed him in a humiliating way before saying, " Do you really know how to eat at the party.. Look at you, you are so dirty.. "

This time Kevin snapped out in a sense and noticed that he really dirtied his face and dress while eating. 

His expression became gloomy and darkened when he thought how hard Nira taught him those things. 

He didn't know what to say.. 

His eyes were brimming up with water, it was not for Ace who was humiliating him but for Nira as he thought how he let her down. 

"Tsk tsk! " Ace sneered again, " Why aren't you saying anything now? Does the cat get your tongue? Tell everyone how you have seduced Nira while working at her house. You, son of a bîtch, always wear the facade of a good man and seduce girls with the pretty face of yours. " 

Ace went on while Kevin was sobbing and felt that his heart was being sliced with a knife and the power was too much that he was feeling numb. 

"He is a house husband. A good àss for nothing. Nira is king enough to get married to you. If it were me, I would have sell you in a brothel."

By saying Ace kicked Kevin hard and as he was off guard, Kevin fell down violently. 

When Nira heard a loud noise, she immediately went there and found Kevin was sitting on the ground and his eyes were red and swollen as his eyes were welling up with water. 

He was crying like a child. 

Nira rushed to him and held him in her embrace, " What's wrong? "

She asked softly and gently. 

Kevin hiccuped twice before saying, " Miss, I am not good enough for you. You should leave me. "

Kevin's words made Nira frown as Kevin looked at her with pitiful eyes. 

She knew that Kevin was not someone who would talk like that so hastily, if nothing happened. 

So she asked him again but this time her voice was no longer gentle and soft, rather it was sounding like a block of ice, " What happened?"

After hearing her voice, Kevin was also a little afraid and looked up, " I.. It's Ace.. 

He said that I am not good enough for you.. 

I am just a house husband. I don't deserve you.. 

You are being kind to me to get married… "

After finishing his word, he sobbed a little, " I am really not good en-.. "

Before he could finish his words, a pair of soft rose-like lips brushed against him and firmed the grip around his head. 

It lasted for a second before being parted. 

Kevin was still at a loss after the incident, he had never expected that Nira could be so bold when she wanted to protect someone. 

Even though Nira has a strong self esteem and always took care of them which were hers but Kevin never thought she could do something like that.. 

Nira..maybe loved him a little. 

This little anticipation was enough for him to have butterflies on stomach. 

But when he was in a daze, Nira got up and looked straight at Ace. 

Her eyes were burning in anger..

She coldly said, " Ace, I have already told you before not to interfere in my private life. 

Since I have gotten married to Kevin, he is my responsibility now and I can afford to feed him.. 

There's no need for him to exhaust himself. He is my husband and I am happy with him, have you listened clearly?"

By saying, she grabbed Kevin's hand and bowed before the crowd, " Sorry everyone for the inconvenience.. 

Mr. Win, let's call it a day. "

After saying so, she left without looking back along with Kevin who was like a puppy following his owner. 

But after reaching the door, he turned around and glanced at Ace. 

Kevin's eyes had a hidden smirk like he was showing his power and it was clear enough to understand from the gaze that "Look Nira won't be with you. So what if I am just a house husband? You are still beneath me."

When Ace was struggling to consume the humiliation, Kevin looked at Nira and returned back to his usual composure and smiled like a silly. 

When the couple left the banquet, they didn't leave, rather they went to a quiet place on the ship.. 

From there, they could see the dark sky which was glittering with the stars and giving a cool vibe. 

Gentle bridge was soothing their skin.. 

It was so refreshing that it was enough to subside one's sorrow. 

After coming there, the weather made Kevin heavy and emotional as he hugged Nira and snuggled on her neck. 

When Nira found the warm embrace of the 185 CM tall man before her, she could only lean on him. 

Even if Nira supported him every time, Kevin knew from the deep down of his heart, he could never be competent with her without money and status! 

But he.. just wanted to be greedy and held her every inch of time.

But the hug only lasted for a few minutes before Nira gently pulled him out and made him look at her and said, " Don't listen to others. 

I have already told you before that I won't leave you since we are married now. 

Listen, under my care you can always be playful and carefree.. 

You don't need to care about anything. 

Just remember that your wife is rich enough to afford you for a lifetime.. "

Kevin felt so warm unknowingly after listening to her words.. 

No one had ever told him like that! 

His wife was.. really good.. 

He must have saved a galaxy in his previous life. 

He smiled and hugged her back again. 

How could anyone be cold to this silly and childish person? Nira's heart was also softened when she looked at him. 

There was a faint smile on Nira's face. 

But in the next moment her expression changed as she asked, "Now tell me what has Ace done with you? "

Kevin hesitated for a while and bit his lower lip constantly at the point of bleeding.. 

" Don't bite your lips or it will bleed. " Nira gently rubbed his lips before saying so. 

It gave Kevin goosebumps that he trembled a little. 

Her cute little hand was as soft and warm as a cherry blossom that he wanted to kiss but it was too rebellious for him to do so. 

"Tell me now. " She coaxed him to tell her everything. 

Kevin couldn't help but shy after hearing her gentle and coaxing voice. 

But he eventually explained everything as he had no turning back from there and from the deep down he really wanted to tell Nira everything but not like the way that she might think that he was annoying and short tempered and complained about such a small thing but he would tell her that way like she had forced him to say everything, " Alright.. I will say.. "

He gulped down a few times before stating the fact. 

" When you went to have a talk with others, I felt  so bored and lonely and as I needed to keep myself empty stomach because I was afraid that the suit wouldn't fit, I was hungry and went to eat something. 

After seeing the almond pastry, I couldn't hold back and forgot everything. 

Then, there were a few people who were mocking me and Ace joined them too. 

He insulted me and said I am just your toy boy, when you will get tired of me, you will leave me and I don't deserve you.. " 

Kevin deliberately added those lines to make the things more ugly. 

While explaining, his eyes were welling up with tears again and he couldn't help but sobbed for some time before asking, " Will you really leave me? I have no one now but you. "

When Nira heard his words, her chest tightened and she pulled him again into the warm embrace and gently whispered, " Rest assured, I won't. 

When Nira was comforting him, Kevin's lips turned into a wry smile as he thought, being a little scheming was always worthy.
