To Ascend or To Die?

Heyyyy.... Author Reader interaction here.

First of all, thank you for reading this book. Special shout out goes to Lathawn. This amazing reader reached out to make me pick up the pace of updating. Even though I did not always update as early as possible [school stuff], I always had the double chapters in mind, because of him.

I think I stuck to that, actually.

Alright, fun aside.

Here is my view on my book because why not? I am my own reader as well.

[SPOILERS OF BOOK 1 HERE! Pls read BK 1 before reading this chapter]!

!!!!! !!!!!

First of all, I think it is very sad that Ronke had to die. Makes me feel bad. In Book 1, Tangera was killed. Commander Eno. Now, Book 2, ROnke goes as well?  The question on my lips now is, who is next? Who is next in line to go as well?

I am not a maniac and I hate that they have to go out. But for the progression of the plot, some things  have to happen. And Hey, I'm not the one who told Ronke to play a Gambit there... She could have used a technique, she had the power of the Elementals to use too but she did not.

I guess when we are in a tight corner, we hardly choose what is convenient for us because we really cannot think extensively at that moment. Our body just moves on its own. I guess I explained that in the intro excerpts, right?

Personal analysis on the characters.

I love Bayo.  Would always pick him over the other characters but hey, he is a major character in a world where someone else can be the major character as well.

Once they assimilate Bayo, they have his birthright automatically, so that is how this works.

From Fair Weather. We saw how Bayo stepped up to leadership roles quickly. Compared to book one, I would say; Bayo has improved a lot.

No more a scared ascender just trying to survive. He was strong enough to pull a crowd already.

And on top of that, he had two girls.  Two into him. XD Hehe.

It's just not funny how Yasmin was able to take advantage of his soul at the point of Ronke's death. Yasmin has to go. That's for sure. He has to go. He is hogging too much of Bayo's spotlight. X(

----

Ronke.

My second choice: Familiar but hey, she had to go. I mean, too many love interests for Bayo would not make his love life grow. We saw how he wanted to avoid conflict by not affiliating with either of them on the ship, right?

Ronke was an exceptional leader. She knew how to call the shots. She also sacrificed herself for others too. I love her for that.

----

Hana

She had to learn from Ronke that life was not war. At least , not always. There had to be times when you had to take the seat and just relax through life. Try to understand some things before you jump all out in battle.

Sure, Diplomacy is not foolproof but hey, it's worth the try, right?

Hana is strong willed. Super strong willed. She refused to use Ashabi in the wave. Imagine that.

-----

SHIN/SHINO

The Hadjan with the most background roles so far. I mean, since after Fair weather He was a great teacher for Bayo but he just did not feature so much in the front lines.

You know why? Nobody did it better than him. Which is why next time, Shin is hogging that spotlight.

And oh, the way he made his techniques feel like pieces of cake, come onnnnnnn...

Shin was the real bomb. I think Shin can hand the ass of The Hand of the Sect over to him.

My thoughts too. Hehe.

Ken

---

This guy did not have a spotlight like that. Himself and SPyder played love almost through their appearance. But he makes for good comic relief. Like when he tried to kiss Spyder and got slapped?

That was the best highlight for me. XD

Spyder,

On the other hand, it has a bad choice of name for a start. Like can you find a name that does not give out who you are? Lol

I think she is too realistic for my liking. Like she wants to move on, at the end? Come on, I would be honest, I did not like that.

------

Ascend or die.

Initially, I was looking for some character dev between  Bayo and the rest. But towards the latter part, I had to remind myself that hey... come on...  We still have Trixius, The Mad Prime, in the corner.

He is not gone so you got to spin back on plot. Thankfully, the stage ground of Familiar Realms set the mood for that.

I miss Trixius. Would love to have seen him cameo for more times than he did here. Which would happen because somehow, we need to face our own dreaded enemies for what they are.

That being said, I hope you learnt something from Ascenders. If you don't get what you want at first, never stop reaching.

That's the whole spin of this. I would love for the world to get better if we all believed.

BELIEVE!

----

That should be it. I love writing this book 2 and, all things being equal, I look forward to answering the unanswered questions the ending has brought in another book. Lol.

But for now, I should take a break and spoil myself. Writing over 40k words in one week? Jeez! My head is toast as of now. Lol.

In the meantime, you could always read my books, right?

Poisedon's Kiss

Ascenders; Rising from Zero (if you haven't..  xd)

I have other books but I won't mention them here.

If you want a spin on them, go for them. Search my name out the search engines, you'd see the other titles and social media pages.

But for now, I need to watch some movies. My head is toast. Lol.

See you when the Ascenders rise again.

Meanwhile….

Ascend or Die… The Mad Prime Awaits!
