Chapter Twenty-one
“Everly.” Savannah forced the name out of her throat, her voice was laced with emotions.

She couldn't have shown how hurt she was, standing before Jenkins and staring into his cold eyes. The pain of being a girl who couldn't help her man engulfed her.

“Hey, what's wrong?” Everly asked in the most concerned tone. Her eyes ran curiously while she held her arm. “You seem so serious.”

Everly could easily tell that there was something wrong, she hadn't met Savannah in this shape before. Whatever the problem was, it needed an urgent solution.

“Yes,” Savannah replied, wearing a tearful smile.

“It's about Jenkins. He requires my help but,” She hesitated, her body collapsing on itself. “Is it okay to open up? What if she isn't able to help out?” she cogitated. Never wanting to bother Everly with matters of this magnitude.

“But what?” Everly's eyes brightened at her word.

“I fear I might not be of help to him.” she said, blinking back tears.

“Keep calm. It's going to be alright.” Everly
