Welcome To The Human World!

Alora packed her necessary things up and was ready to leave.

She came downstairs, Darius and Ashley followed her carrying her and Dan's bags.

"I'm leaving, Pa". She said sadly.

Elle, Stephen and Veronica were standing in the living room, waiting for her.

"God speed you, my dear". Stephen smiled and hugged her.

"I'll miss you all". Alora tried not to cry.

"We will miss you too, but it's just six months, they'll pass soon". Stephen consoled her.

Alora then moved to her grandmother. "Ma? Wish me luck".

Veronica pulled her into her embrace and cried. "Good luck".

After then, Alora moved at her Mother. Elle smiled and gave her a warm hug. "Return with the soul, otherwise, don't come back. You're the hope of our people, and the future of our world".

"Sure, Mother". Alora pulled herself back.

"You'll find the chosen one in New York City, the city of lights.. be so careful and don't let anyone recognize you". Jade instructed.

"Noted, Jade". Alora smiled. She looked around and fixated her eyes on Ashley and Darius. "Hey! Ashley_ Darius, remember me.. okay?".

"Ofcourse, how can we forget you?". Ashley grinned and hugged her.

Darius did the same. "We wish you good luck". He said.

Alora spotted Dan, saying goodbye to everyone. "Where's Ron?". She asked.

Everyone went blank.

"Oh yes! Where's him?". Dan looked around.

"He should be here! Alora? Did you told him that you like him?". Stephen inquired.

"I did-".

"He is not meant for her, Stephen". Jade interrupted.

"I_ told him that we can't be together". Alora looked down.

"What? Why!". Stephen was surprised.

"Pa! This is not the time to talk about all this. We'll think about it after we come back. Jade says he will die if he becomes the part of my life". Alora elaborated.

"Okay?". Stephen nodded. "Is that easy for you?".

"More than easy". Alora took a deep breath. "I am not weak. Love makes people weak".

"Who said that to you?". Elle asked.

"My heart". Alora glanced at Jade.

Meanwhile, the door opened and Ron stepped in.

Everyone looked at him.

"Greetings!". He exclaimed happily and joined them.

"Ron? You came!". Alora moved at him. "I thought you wouldn't".

"How's that even possible?". Ron replied, avoiding eye contact with her. "I look forward to you becoming the queen, My princess. When you'll be away, I'll file your Father's murder case again in the court and fight, just like you said".

"Thank you, Ron". Alora said. She turned to Dan. "Let's go, Dan".

"Yeah". Dan gave a nod and took the bags from Darius. "See you soon, Darius".

Darius smiled in reply.

"Goodbye, Pa". Alora waved sadly.

"Goodbye". Stephen's eyes were full of tears.

"You would pray for me, right Mother? And I want a woolen sweater, Ma". She tried to cheer everyone up but of no use. With a fake smile, she left the house.

"STAY AWAY FROM ALICE". Veronica yelled from the back.

Alora didn't looked back as she was the edge of bursting into tears.

Dan followed her quietly, holding the bags.

The entrance and exit of the Vampire World shined with blue lights. Alora examined it. "It's like the black hole".

"Sure it is". Dan sighed, standing beside her, looking forwards.

"Oh hey!". A shrill sound echoed.

Alora and Dan turned to see. It was Alice. She had her boyfriend, Connor with her too.

Dan narrowed his glance at her and held Alora's hand tightly.

"Thought you would quit. But I can see greed in those eyes of yours". Alice said, coming closer.

"Greed? What else do you see?". Alora asked.

"Umm, Pride?".

"Well, yes! I do have the throne's greed and I am proud of myself. I want to serve my people so I'm greedy for the throne. I am the daughter of Corbin Seawright, so I'm proud".

Alice clenched her fists and swallowed the anger. "Never thought you would be so clever".

"Me? And what do you think about yourself?". Alora glanced at Connor. "Fooling an old lady and taking away her son? Isn't THAT cleverness?".

Alice could just scoff in reply.

"What? Won't reply?". Alora laughed sarcastically. "Well, Thank you for talking to me, Alice. In all this hurry, I forgot to spend the time with my dog today.. but I don't regret anymore".

Alice hissed. "You bitch!".

"Ha!". Alora combed her hair with her fingers. "Let's go, Dan. I think it's enough for today".

Dan picked up the bags and the next moment they were in a different world.

Tall buildings, cars honking, traffic police directing the traffic, girls and boys wandering on the streets, a lady holding a baby in her arms, standing at the side of the road, a drunkard being followed by the officers, this was New York.

"Welcome to the human world". Dan said, looking around.

"Were you from here?". Alora asked.

"No". Dan shook his head. "I was from Britain, this is US.. this city never sleeps, Alora".

"What? Like us?". Alora chuckled.

"No_ I mean, Yes.. it's always up". Dan giggled.

"Hmm". Alora took a long breath. "Looks like we have to discover so much!".

"Indeed". Dan nodded.

Meanwhile, someone whispered from behind. "Hey".

Dan and Alora searched for the voice. There was a guy hiding behind the trashcan.

"Oh! He's Harvey". Dan moved at him.

"Greetings, My Princess". Harvey bowed in front of Alora.

"Hi". Alora smiled. "Are you-".

"A Vampire". Harvey winked. "Welcome to New York City, You're on a mission and I'll be the one assisting you, My princess. The Seawrights are the future of the Vampires and we are obligated to support and help them. Let's go to my place".

An hour later, Alora and Dan were at Harvey's apartment.

"Oh! Not like my house from any angle". She examined the apartment and moved towards the window. "This is a busy city".

"People die to visit it". Harvey commented. "It's totally new for you and you'll love to discover it".

"I'm excited though". Alora shrugged with a smile.

Dan seated himself on the couch. "So, what do we have to do?".

Alora sat next to him.

"I'll give you fake id cards, I have booked two apartments for you people AND I bought two cell phones for you". Harvey took out two iphones from his pocket.

"What is this?". Alora touched the screen.

"It's called a mobile phone". Dan replied.

Harvey placed them on the coffee table in front of Dan and Alora.

"What is it used for?". Alora inquired.

"It is used to talk to people who live far away, you can play games, listen to songs, socialize and take pictures of memorable moments". Dan explained.

"Ew, I _ don't like it". Alora sat back.

"I know you don't, but it's important for you to have it in order to stay in contact with us". Harvey replied.

"Fine? Okay". Alora nodded. "Why two apartments? Why not one?".

"It's better if you live alone.. you'll find a roommate soon. Just to help you mingle". Harvey told. "Your apartments would be in the same building, but on different floors".

"What else?". Dan asked.

"Tonight, just us and some beer". Harvey winked.

"Ahem, what?". Alora asked, clearing her throat.

"Beer, parties, clubs, movies, that's what NYC is all about!". Harvey exclaimed.

"And from where will we feed ourselves?". Alora asked.

"Ofcourse, from the forests". Harvey responded.

"Oh_ okay". Alora gave a nod hesitantly.

"What? You don't like the idea?". Harvey sensed something was wrong.

"She_ is a princess, she never hunted herself". Dan replied. "But you know Alora, we HAVE to change in order to fit".

Alora just smiled in reply.

There was an awkward silence for a while.

"Ahem". Harvey cleared his throat to break the ice. "I will buy some clothes for you, Alora. You can't wear those clothes here, they seem so_ ROYAL? AND OLD FASHIONED. ACCORDING TO NYC TODAY".

"Okay?". Alora glanced at Dan. "What will I wear then?".

"I'll show you". Harvey picked up his keys. "Today was a good day, no sunshine, it's cloudy. Make sure to stay away from the sun rays, understand?".

"Yes! We know how to do it". Dan responded.

"Excellent.. I'll lock the door from outside so that no one disturbs.. you can have a look at my apartment, princess. I worked hard to decorate it". Harvey told.

"Sure, why not". Alora stood up.

"Good, I'll take my leave now".

He winked at Dan. Both men knew that she was unhappy to come here and it was more than difficult for her to adjust.

Alora took a round of the apartment while Dan scrolled through the mobile phones.

"Hmm". She took a deep breath, with her hands on her hips. "I like it! It's so modern!".

Dan looked up. "You do?".

Alora eyeballed him. "Yeah!". She moved her gaze down to the mobile phone. "But I don't like THAT!".

Dan followed her gaze and looked at the phone. "Ha! It's okay, Alora.. just six months". He chuckled.

"I hope this time passes soon". Alora sat next to him. "Show me how it works".

Dan taught Alora how to use a mobile phone till Harvey cane back in the afternoon.

"Guys!". He shouted as soon as he entered. He was holding a couple of shopping bags in his hands. "Look what I bought!".

Alora and Dan beheld him. "Oh! You're back".

"Back with so much exciting things". Harvey placed the shopping bags on the floor and sat on the couch. "Have a look, Alora".

One by one, Alora opened all the shopping bags and emptied their contents on the coffee table.

"Handbags, dresses, shoes, make up, jewelry..uhm, Harvey? Was there something left which you didn't bought for me? I mean_ you bought the whole mall I guess". She smiled.

"No! definitely no, I didn't bought Lingerie". Harvey replied.

Dan bursted into laughter. "What!?".

Alora stared at Harvey in disbelief who was now laughing too. "Oh come on! Is this how you're gonna torture me? Are you trying to make me realize that I'm the only girl here??".

"Haha". Dan wasn't able to stop laughing. He put his hand on his stomach and tried to breath.

"Dan? Harvey!". Alora tried to silence them. "COME ON GUYS!".

No one listened to her. Harvey moved towards the window and laughed out loud.

"DAN!". Alora roared in anger.

"Okay! Okay!". Dan tried to control himself. "Sorry!".

He stood up and paced around the room. "Sorry". He was still giggling.

Alora scoffed and leaned back on the couch. "Go ahead!! Laugh_ I'll tell Pa when I get back home".

"SORRY ALORA". Harvey came towards the couch and sat again.

"Joke of the day_ I really like this humorous side of yours". Dan gave a high five to Harvey.

"What he said was quite right! There was nothing funny". Alora said.

"Yeah". Harvey chuckled. "Maybe you can run to the mall and buy it yourself sometime?".

"Thanks_ I brought my own with me". Alora rolled her eyes.

Harvey and Dan looked at each other and decided to change the topic. "Anyways, we're going to a club, tonight.. so, dress accordingly". Harvey said. "I'll bake something".

"Like it's gonna fill our stomach!". Dan commented as Harvey got up.

"Just fot fun, Dude".

"Help me put them back into the bags". Alora moved at the things which Harvey bought and started putting them back into the shopping bags.
