Chapter One

Klaus was seating facing Clara, her facial expressions made Klaus look away, he stares at his soaked palm, obviously he was worried, Clara has been this way since they got married, she tries to be happy and lively whenever he is around but deep down, Klaus knows she is sad.

Clara comes from a rich family, she is supposed to be above clouds, but she chose to walk on the ground when she decided to marry Klaus.

Now their marriage is at a tight spot, and she couldn't keep up with her beaming face.

Klaus couldn't find a job and her mother was at their tail, she feared she might eventually lose Klaus. That was the last thing she wanted, her mother will be so happy, and she wouldn't mind marrying her off to a toothless man as long he is wealthy.

Clara came up with an idea, the only way to solve their threatening situation.

“Why don't you ask my mom for help” she said. Klaus has been looking for a job desperately, and he has been rejected countless times, this made him doleful because he couldn't boast about the future.

“Then, I should get going” Klaus stood up immediately like he has been waiting for this, and it has to done quickly. Clara was a little surprised by his reactions, she was having the feeling he won't agree easily.

she gazed up again only to see Klaus has disappeared.

“Wait!” she heard the door sounds, she rush to the door, Klaus was gone, this made her downhearted, she ended up not telling Klaus the main reason she called for the discussion, she was pregnant.

Klaus hurried out of the house because he was getting late for his interview, he didn't tell Clara about this, she must be thinking he was heading to her mom, but the truth is Klaus has asked Clara mom for a job before, she laughs in his face and threw him out, Klaus didn't tell Clara this because he didn't want to cause some stir between them.

Klaus arrived there, they were many people also waiting for their turn, he checked his resume again, everything was correct, sometimes he couldn't help but wonder why no company is ready to accept him, his grades were superb, yet they don't see that.

Klaus finally seats on the chair, they were only ten more people before it gets to his turn, his legs were shaking, he was frightened thinking about the other interviews he has gone through, he worked hard to get this one, he prays this will be the turning point. He wanted to give Clara the best as soon as possible, Klaus was adopted into the Baker family at an early age, he was treated poorly even then, but things turn devilishly when Clara fell for him and married against their wills. She took a crazy bold step, Klaus was grateful, but the hatred her family had for him was tripled.

“Klaus Marshall”

Klaus gaze up when he heard his name, he was the only one remaining at last it his turn.

“Yes!” Klaus stood up. The lady stares at him before she looks at the booklet she was holding.

“Come with me” she turns leaving, Klaus follows her from behind, he couldn't help but pray silently in his mind, they entered a corridor that leads to the interview room.

The lady stopped at the corner, she points the door to Klaus.

"That way" she said.

"Thank you" Klaus bow his head like a nod, but the lady didn't appreciate, she looks at him disgust, the only reason she stopped was because she couldn't help but think that Klaus has been staring at her backsides and she was getting irritated by it, with his dress, she knows his worth, a commoner and there was sweat on his forehead and his hair was unkept though he looks handsome and well-built, but he could've checked himself in the mirror before he left his house.

Klaus could see the expression on the lady face, he has seen this countless times, no wonder she kept increasing the distance between them, but that doesn't concern him, she was a thousand miles away from his wife beauty. Clara can only be described has a goddess in the Baker family, she was fair with black hair reaching to her back and she had the height to it. Tall and elegant.

Klaus could come up with many ways to describe Clara, he reminds himself how lucky he was having Clara.

this lady didn't know he has a beautiful wife that shins brighter than a diamond. If she knew she won't have been taking measure, she was ugly in Klaus eyes.

Klaus step to the door, he arranged his himself again and wipes the sweat from his forehead.

Klaus clears his throat then he opened the door, he saw two men they sat at the high table, there was a chair in the middle, obviously that was where he will be seating, Klaus nods showing appreciation before he sat on the chair. The man stare at him without saying a word, one of them was acting like he recognized him.

Klaus wasn't settled, their stare wasn't helping him, his heart was drumming because this was the last company he hadn't been interviewed, this was his last shot. He was ready to pour his all and give beyond his best.

“You are Klaus Marshall” the one trying to recognize him said. Klaus nods before answering.

“I am Klaus Marshall” he said with confident. The look on the man face change, his eyebrows moved to each other. He stretch to the telephone on the table.

“Call the security here!, now!” he barks. He smashed the telephone back.

Klaus eyes shoot forward when he heard the security, he was utterly confused. What is happening, he hasn't done anything yet, why are they calling the security.

"Sir" Klaus finds his words back, before he could continue, three hefty men bounce the door opened.

The man stood up, he pointed to Klaus.

“Kick this man out from his place” he barks. Klaus stood up, seeing the men approaching.

“What is this” he looks at the man, he deserves an explanation to this, for all he knows he hasn't said anything excerpt answering to his name.

“What did I do wrong?” Klaus step to them, he was boiling inside, but he kept his anger checked.

“Ask yourself that questions” the man quickly replied. He turns furiously to the security men.

“What…are you doing, throw this madman out” he smacked the table with fist.

Klaus' eyes were fixed on him, his breath was vibrating, his fist was tight. The security grip his hands.

“I will walk myself” Klaus drift his eyes to them. They gave way for him, this man eyes were filled with terror.

Klaus came out from the room, the security men were behind him, the lady from before was going to the room, she saw Klaus coming out madly, her cheeks moved up.

He must have done something stupid. She enters the room.

Klaus didn't look at her face, he walks to the exit, when he got there, the men pushed him out. He staggered before he got his balance.

Klaus was filled with rage, even though he was sobbing deep down, his anger didn't let that part surface, he did nothing anyway, they kicked him out immediately they heard his name.

Klaus phone rings, he brought it close to his eyes, he didn't recognize the number, the caller was unknown, he cancelled it immediately, he didn't want to talk to anybody let alone an unknown caller.
