The first Glitch

In a small office room filled with heavy air, an employer and employee conversed.

Holding His head high and his tie neatly tied was Fujuzuki as he waited for his boss's response. Hinata Fujuzuki was a middle-aged man in his thirties. He had an average build and was normal in every way except for His attitude which was highly negative and his demeanor which was manly anxious and guarded.

Even so, Fujuzuki was unrivaled when it came to working.

He had excelled at work so much that he had never missed a day of it even if he was sick, and now for the first time in a decade, Fujuzuki has requested leave.....

"Mr. Fujuzuki, am afraid your offer has been declined." this was the shocking news that came from his boss.

"Wait... what?"

"I can't give you leave Mr. Fujuzuki."

"W...why? was there anything wrong with my attendance record?" Fujuzuki timidly responded as if he was a naive little child and With his response, His boss busted out in huge laughter as he laughed at the timidness of his employee.

"It looks like you don't get what's happening here."

"Huh!? Wh... what do you mean?"

"Your attendance was perfect, even your performance was of top quality, but..."

Though Fujuzuki didn't know much about his boss, The moment he heard the "But" come from his boss's mouth, He knew that his leave was never gonna happen.

" We don't want you to ruin your perfect record, Now do we? As such you shall continue coming to work as usual." this was the lie that came from his boss.

His boss continued with his lies as a means to convince Fujuzuki to not take leave, and his lies would blow out of proportion every time he opened his mouth.

Listening to his boss's lies, A thought crossed Fujuzuki's mind "Corporate Slave" Was what he had thought. The situation he was in was that of a slave other than that of a paid employee. "His boss was good to lie" He would think as he realized what his boss truly thought of him.

The confidence in his boss's words, the excitement he felt Even the smile he had on his face, said "What a pushover." This was what was thought of Fujuzuki who brazenly listened to his boss's lies.

"Fujuzuki, You sure are a pushover aren't you? I can't believe you're taking my words seriously." these were his boss's true inner thoughts.

For Fujuzuki who was always quiet and did what everyone asked of him, His boss thought he would give up quickly, but his thoughts were shattered like glass as Fujuzuki, for the first time tried resisting.

"But...Sir, I need this leave." He said and With that, he had fueled his boss's rage.

His boss's expression went slightly red as veins grew on his fists, and while screaming his lungs out, his boss responded "There are no buts Fujuzuki, I want you here first thing tomorrow got that!?"

His boss's words and intentions were very clear, but even so, Fujuzuki needed the leave as he had planned to visit his dying mother.

Fujuzuki only received word recently that his mother was soon to pass, and for a person raised by a single parent... Fujuzuki wanted to be there for her mother. This was what had been fueling him.

"Sir. like I was saying..." To his boss, Fujuzuki just seemed like a brat that wouldn't do as he was told. This was the personality his boss had, He would only listen to his side of the story and not care about what others had to say.

Now his boss's slightly red face went completely red as the veins in his hands were about to pop.

"FUJUZUKI!! Don't you understand what am saying... I want you here first thing tomorrow or your fired, got that!"In his boss's fit of rage, Fujuzuki was rendered mute.

He silently stood there as he was cursed and yelled at, and with the way things were, Fujuzuki resembled prey that was in front of a predator. The prey was ready to be devoured any second now.

Moments later, Fujuzuki left his boss's office and as he did so, His eyes were fixated on the ground.

Walking from the office to his station, Fujuzuki felt the stares, heard the voices, and saw the sinister smiles of his colleagues who showered him with ridicule and gossip.

This was yet another night for Fujuzuki, and this was one of the slowest ones.

---[23:50]---- The clock on Fujuzuki's desk showed so, and this was proof that working hours had ended a long time ago.

Slowly standing up from his chair, Fujuzuki scanned his surroundings only to find that he was the last one left.

"(sigh) I guess it's time I left too." He exclaimed.

He began packing his things, and he did so with the pain that coursed through his back, This was the result of sitting down for too long, Even so, He put up with the pain and quickly left the office.

[Location: Earth]

After a long day at work, Fujuzuki was finally heading back home.

He patiently waited for the traffic lights to hit Go as he stood at the other end of the crosswalk and in his wait, A worldly supernatural phenomenon happened. The phenomenon closely resembled that of a glitch.

The glitch wasn't noticeable by anyone, but Fujuzuki could feel a strange feeling engulfing his entire body. The feeling didn't last long, but it was enough to put Him in a daze.

The daze took a while to wear off, and as it wore off He was met with an unpredicted scene.

A teenage schoolgirl who was beside him on the sidewalk was Crossing the road, but the girl was so fixated on Her phone that she didn't notice the truck that was heading straight for her.

The truck wasn't driven by anyone, it was as if it had casually rolled off on the road.

"Hey, kid!! Get off the road!!" Fujuzuki called out to the girl.

"Get off the road!!!"

As Fujuzuki called out to the girl, He noticed that the girl had earphones on, and this rendered his services useless.

The truck got closer to the girl at an incredible speed, so much so that the girl only noticed it when it was already too late. The girl braced herself for death as her life quickly flashed before her eyes.

BOOM!

With life crossing her eyes, The girl heard a huge crash.

The crash was soon followed by the screams and voices of the people who had gathered around the crash. The girl was still in shock, this was why it had taken her a while to notice that she wasn't the one hit by the truck, instead a man in a black suit was hit...

This was Fujuzuki.

His hand slowly fell as He coughed blood and listened to the voices of those who had gathered around him. Emersed in a load of pain, Fujuzuki only regretted one thing, Not being there at the end of his mother's life.

Sorrow, agony, and anger were what he felt as his last breath escaped from his mouth

His eyes slowly shut while his heart quickly stopped, Fujuzuki had died or so he thought...

His eyes which were tight shut quickly opened as Fujuzuki felt a strange and unknown sensation described as pain, throughout his entire body.

As his eyes continued to scan the world around him, Fujuzuki saw a familiar scene before him, The crosswalk he had just died on.

"W.. what the fuck is going on here," he thought as his eyes wandered left and right, trying to confirm the scene before them.

"D... didn't I... just die!? wait... why did die?"

"Am I crazy!?"

Pain, Confusion, Anger, and Relief This is what Fujuzuki felt from his first experience of Death. It was such an unusual feeling for him that his body slowly started to give out on him, which caused him to fall to his knees.

Fujuzuki was thought of as crazy and weird by those around him who had witnessed this scene.

The stares of the people around him were of discrimination, but even so, Fujuzuki didn't pay much attention to them as he only tried to seek the truth through his thoughts and experiences.

"W.. what is going on here? Is this the result of overworking or am I just crazy? No way that could've been real, right? I mean if it was real, then why am I still alive?"

As he stood there on his knees, A familiar figure stopped opposite of him, "Huh!? Who are you?" He asked as an unwavering feeling rose in his stomach.
