Chapter 26: An invite

After some minutes, Aubrey found her sanity and pulled back. She still felt pained but she didn't want Adonis to see her as being weak.

“I thought you changed your mind about being my contradicted boyfriend.”

Adonis smiled slightly. “Why would I do that? We had an agreement. I will not leave like that.”

Aubrey looked away, feeling a bit of happiness. She hadn't thought that Adonis would stay after being beaten in section C. Zaire and Anna would be very disappointed to see him again.

“You are right,” she muttered and looked at him again. “There's no way you would do that anyways,” she didn't want to apologise or sound sympathetic.

“Lie down, Aubrey. You need a lot of rest,” he pulled her back to the bed.

But Aubrey was bothered about her grandmother. EverLeigh would be so angry if she didn't go back home that night.

“Grandmother would be angry.”

“Didn't you tell her about what you want if you agree to see the investors? You will be fine with that.”
