Chapter 5 (Gunshot?)

Shaun Crimson's POV

Nothing fun happened  when Jayson drove us home. The workaholic just went into his office to do some works. Even in dire situation, he chose to work.   A CEO working like a maid in his own companies.

I keep on advising him to enjoy  himself as he's young, then tell the story when he gets old, but it falls on deaf ears. He just won't heed to my advice.

I went into my room and got ready for some party then I visited Harry's.

"Are you up for some party?" I inquired.

"No. I will be going to the shooting range"

I got to persuade you.

"Why don't you go out clubbing for today?" I said, persuasively.

" No man. I prefer to shoot guns"

Drop the guns and hold some ladies, man. Why must you always prove that you don't like girls.

Harry finished dressing up and took his Maserati MC20's key, on the table.

"You don't really need that, bro. I can give you a lift, you know" I lied.

" No Shaun! I know what you're planning to do."

" What do you mean?" I faked the curious expression.

" You want to drag me to the club"

Smart ass!

I wanted to drag your ass to the club and now you just caught me.

"You're too smart for my liking" I angrily left his room after yelling.

I went downstairs and Jayson was coming out from the kitchen holding a cup of coffee.

"Going out?" He asked after sipping from the cup.

"Yeah" I said, walking towards the door.

"Don't stay up late."  He said.

"Duration?"

"Not exceeding 9:00 PM"

"9:00?!" I turned to face him and  my brows arched.

"Don't give me that look, Shaun. You definitely know that I'm being generous today. Maybe because of what happened earlier"

" Whatever!" I rolled my eyes before going out.

Like seriously?

I angrily went to the car garage and drove one of car to the club. The usual which  was already getting boring to me, happened. The hailing. But I think I still love it.

I went to the rear to have a quick smoke. Maybe one would do, but I ended up smoking more cigarettes. And now, the real challenge came. The challenge to pick between alcohol and ladies.

Who should I choose?

No idea.

Just cast a lot.

Good.

I sat on the bar chair and drew the cigarette tray closer to me. Immediately, I started to cast the lot with the cigarette stubs and it ended up in alcohol. I ordered for a bottle of Hennessy VSOP and drank a good quantity from it.

After some hours, my gaze happened to land on my wristwatch. And it was already 11:25 PM.

"11:25?!" My eyes were wide opened. Even though I might have gotten drunk, the time Jayson gave me, rang in my head. Not exceeding 9:00! I quickly brought out my phone from my pocket only to notice that I  muted it. Jayson had already given me five miss calls and seven from Harry.

WTF!

There's definitely no way to avoid his punishment. It's either I'm going to be scolded, or my car keys will be taken away from me, for like two weeks.

So dead.

But I refuse to be punished for nothing. If I should be punished, then I need to drink more. And that, I did.

I bet my head was already light as I was kinda dizzy when a gunshot sound put me on my guard. I jolted down from the chair to catch the girl that had been shot beside me.

"Are you okay?" The unnecessary question came out of my mouth.

Who did this?! No I'm not talking to you, pretty. I'm actually asking mysel..." Before explaining the trash to her, she went unconscious.

"Chase after the shooter!" I yelled at the guards who were already coming my way. Then I quickly carried the girl, bridal style into my car.

Who could have shot the girl? And why on Earth would they shoot someone at the Lord's club?

As these thoughts kept replaying in my head, I drove my car on high speed. And few minutes to get home, I quickly took my phone to call Harry.

I bet he might have thought, I was calling to apologize. But this was a more serious case.

"Get Grayson home. Now!" It came out as a command.

" Oh, finally you've returned the call. And why will Grayson be needed? Did you get into another fight at the club?"

" No questions. Gunshot"

" Gunsho... " he couldn't complete the word before I ended the call.

As I dropped the phone, I turned to check on the girl if she was still breathing.

Thank goodness she's still breathing.

"Hang on, dear. We've gotten to my house." Disregarding the fact that she was unconscious, I said to her as I drove into my compound.

"What do you mean by gunshot?!" Concerned laced Harry's voice though it was also an attack.

" It's not me bro. I got a visitor in my car. Please take her upstairs. I'm a bit dizzy" I said, shaking off the blur vision.

Only Jah knew how I drove home.

" Alright, bro." Harry patted my shoulder, before dashing towards my car.

After Harry had taken her up stairs to the visitor's room, Grayson came and  immediately started to treat her hand.

"Is she one of your girl?" Harry inquired as we stood at the door of the visitor's room.

" C'mon bro! You know I quit that life already. What happened with my ex made me to quite girls." I told Harry.

I wasn't actually lying because I still loathed highschool girls to the call. Except for random chicks.

But Harry who only knew half part of the story, drew a conclusion.

" I know. I'm just surprised to see a girl with you and has already gotten a bullet. So what happened?"

" I will give you the details later. By the way, where's Jayson?" I inquired.

" Long story. But what I know for sure is that, you're getting it real hard when he comes."

" Why?" I sounded curious and anxious.

" Because he called you several times but you weren't picking. So, when it got to 11:30 pm, he drove out to get you. "

" But..." Harry cut me off before I could complete the sentence.

"And I called him to tell him about the shot you told me...." Before Harry could finish speaking, Jayson ran up to the visitor's room.

The expression on Jayson's face, got me paranoid.

I'm really done for.
