The coronation (1)

Miranda stood still as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror. She was dressed for the occasion. The beautiful purple dress she was wearing coupled with the ornaments that adorned her made her look like a true queen. It had taken so long for her to get here, it had taken so much.

She could already hear the coronation bells ringing. The Lords were rushing into the courtroom, awaiting the presence of the woman to be crowned queen. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and there was no disturbance whatsoever.

She had expected a Mintoval uprising or an attack prior to the coronation but there was none. Was Richmond going to be silent while she took the throne? He had not been arrested and the mages sent out to find him had not reported anything.

She was beginning to get worried. But then, the door to her chambers opened and Elle walked inside. She smiled delightedly as she saw Miranda. She was truly the most beautiful woman in the Kingdom and no one could dispute that fact.
