I Hate My Dad

That day is a day that Ernest can never forget.  Ernest still remembers where that day, his mother was sick.  However, his father was not at home when he came home from school.

He saw his mother who was having trouble carrying her drink which was stored on the nightstand.  Breast cancer has been eating away at her for more than 6 months, her mother's body is getting thinner and her face is getting wrinkled.  There was not enough money to take the mother to the hospital, only for regular check-ups and to redeem the medicine recommended by the doctor.  That would make the disease worse.  However, how could he help his mother?  He is just a schoolboy trying to help buy his mother's medicine with only the money he earns from selling on the roadside.  Even then the result is not much.

"Mom, mother what want? Where's Dad? Why are you alone? What if something happened to you?"  asked Ernest annoyed while helping his mother.

"I don't know, son. Maybe he's playing gambling. Just look at the shop next door, maybe he's there," said the mother by massaging her head.

"Mom, how about day? Have you eaten, mom? I will get you some food, okay?"  said Ernest, and his mother just nodded.

After that, Ernest then went to the kitchen to bring the porridge he made that morning.  Don't forget the warm soup that this morning was still available on the dining table.  Ernest also brought a new drink for his mother to take medicine later.

Ernest returned to his mother's room.  He then sat down and fed his mother to eat.  During the meal, his mother invited Ernest to talk about his school.

"What about your school, son? Why do you often come home late? Do you take a lot of extracurriculars?"  Mother asked worriedly.

"I work, Mom. No problem with my school. It won't bother me, as long as I can study well it will be safe," Ernest explained as he fed his mother

"Son, let it be your father's job. Your job is only to study," said his mother.

"Father? What does that strange man rely on, Mom? His only job is to gamble and get drunk! Why do you still keep him? It's clear he's just a burden, look now! You sick he doesn't care about mom!" cried Ernest annoyed

His mother was silent, what Ernest said was true.  Her husband is useless.  However, to file for divorce, he clearly could not.  She can't walk how she can take care of divorce papers?

When conditions like that, the father came home drunk.  Ernest, who saw his father living a carefree life, became increasingly annoyed with his father.

"Dad's home," Lewis said as he entered the house drunk

"What do you want to go home for? Just sleep outside! Can't you see your wife is seriously ill?! And you're just outside playing gambling and getting drunk?!"  said Ernest annoyed.

"Father won, son. Look at this! You have a lot of money!"  Lewis exclaimed, pulling a large dollar bill from his pocket.

"Tch, you think everything will end with money? We need your attention! Your wife is sick, where is your concern, Dad?!"  asked Ernest emotionally

"You ignorant child! Do you think I'm out just to play? I make money by gambling! And look, I have a lot of money I'm rich!"  said his father proudly.

"You think money is what we need? If you just need money, just go! It's useless if you don't care about your wife, she's sick of needing your and you're never there for her!" cried Ernest.

"Tch, you children, and wife are the same. Just a burden! No profit! You can only show off your gambling money and if you lose you will scold us? Torturing us? Do you think we are your release? Are you crazy?!"  asked Ernest emotionally

BUGH!

A punch managed to land on Ernest's cheek.  His mother was also shocked because of his father's rude treatment of Ernest

"Stop it! Stop it enough! Lewis, let him go!"  cried mom worried.

Lewis released his grip on Ernest's neck.  Before leaving the house, Lewis spat for a moment and then left.  Ernest could only hold back his anger to keep his mother fine.

"Ernest, come here son. Come here, is there something hurt?"  asked the mother anxiously.

Ernest approached his mother.  He saw that the bruises on Ernest's face were very obvious because of his father's beating.  Her mother cried and stroked her cheek guiltily.

"This is mother's fault, mother should be healed and not sick. We will not be like this every day," regretted the mother.

"Mother is never wrong. And this is a small wound with the heartache that I and my mother have. Now, I have had my father. I hate everything about him," said Ernest full of annoyance.

Her mother could only cry as she hugged Ernest.  That day, Ernest decided that he would forever hate his father.  And that day, was the day that Ernest would never care about his father again.

Suddenly, the mother seemed short of breath. Ernest, who was being hugged by his mother, felt his mother short of breath. He is very shocked because his mom is so sick.

"Mom! Mom why?! Mom hold on a minute, okay?! I'll call a doctor for mom!"  Ernest exclaimed as he tried to call the doctor in a state of complete panic.

However, the mother grabbed Ernest's arm instead and said something even more shocking.

"Son, I'm sorry. Maybe I can only accompany you here. Take good care of yourself, I love you!"  said the mother then she took her last breath at that very moment.

"No, Mom! Mom, don't leave me, Mom! Mom!!"  Ernest exclaimed as he repeatedly checked his mother's pulse.  However, the result was nil.  The mother has left Ernest for good.  And that day, Ernest will remember as the day of his lifelong hatred for his father.

"I hate you, dad.." said Ernest.
