CHAPTER 57

Jessica needed the hug. She knew that. Russell also needed it more than he would admit.

It was a comforting moment for both but also a blissful one for Jessica. A tiny dimple blossomed on her cheek.

When they broke out of the warm hug, their gazes met for a second time. His gaze sang through her soul.

When she was all by herself, the house felt empty, just like her heart. But after Russell’s arrival, happiness filled her heart and brought a glow to the house as well.

Like how green grass rose out of the soil and shone brightly, a wonderful smile broke free from her lips and settled on her face.

She didn’t thank him for coming. She totally forgot about that. She took him to her room because her brother’s room was rather messy. “You sleep on this bed. I’ll sleep on the floor.”

“Why sleep on the floor? Let’s bring the couch into this room,” Russell suggested.
