Chapter 1

New York Airport

A man in a black suit walked out of his aeroplane. He wore his sunny glasses as two soldiers hurried to him. They saluted and moved aside for him to enter his white Mercedes-Benz GLC.

He was the General Dallas Torrington, the poisonous gentleman.

Twenty six years ago, he had suffered after ‘The Eye and The Blood’ group killed his parents and set his father’s house on fire.

His father was Brandon Torrington, the police lieutenant. ‘The Eye and The Blood’ group attacked Brandon Torrington because he was a brave police officer, and the reason they didn’t develop corruption in New York.

‘The Eye and The Blood’ group locked the doors and windows so that everyone in Brandon’s family won’t escape in the furnace.

And before the extinguisher came, everyone in the burning house couldn’t escape, except Dallas.

But Dallas did not save himself.

Rosalie Jones, a damsel and an emotional girl dare to climb a ladder into a room through the burning window when a boy was screaming for help.

She helped the boy descend the ladder. But as soon as the boy gets down, the ladder caught fire.

The room became too heat for her to bear, making her have no choice but to risk her life again. The ladder fell as she was descending it, and she fell on it.

In that moment, the fire burned her beauties. Her smooth face shrinks together.

When the boy realized Rosalie didn’t die, he begged her not to tell anyone that he survived. And after she questioned him why, he jumped into the nearest river without answering her.

Colonel Michael met the little boy at the riverside near a barrack. Since then, the hope of the boy blossoms once again, making him joined the military, and went through hell to become the General Dallas, the poisonous gentleman.

General Dallas thought about those things in his cool car and asked the driver to switch on the news.

The reporter of BBN announced that the millionaire Jones family are finding any man who will marry Rosalie, because no rich man can marry the ugliest and shrink-face Rosalie. The reporter goes further to tell everyone where people can find Rosalie’s pictures on F******k, I*******m, and Twitter.

Commander Dallas brought out his iPhone, searching for Rosalie’s pictures on I*******m. Not long, he clicked on the pictures, watching it for a long time. He scrolled down to read the over thousands comment under the pictures.

Some commenters said she received Karma for burning the house. Some called her witch. While some commented with a laughing sticker, and used her pictures as memes.

Commander Dallas squeezed the iPhone, threw it out, but the anger within him grew more.

That’s the brief information he knows about her.

Rosalie had become a laughingstock since twenty six years ago. You will always meet her in her room reading books. And sometimes she will be in a garret, weeping alone as a girl, and laughing alone as a woman with a novel on her hand.

“Stop the car,” Dallas said

The driver slammed on the brakes in a peaceful environment. The driver was Christian Williams, the Officer cadet. He came out of the car as Dallas stepped out.

“Christian, return to the barrack now,” Dallas said.

“What of you, sir?”

“I don’t know when I will go back to Spain. I’ve told Lieutenant Douglass to handle my position until I will return. And don’t tell anyone about me.”

Christian saluted as he said, “okay, sir.”

Commander Dallas walked away. And Christian kept watching the legend commander till he was out of sight.

Christian saluted again with a bright smile as if Dallas was still there, and then speed the car off.

Dallas walked to a busy street, entering an old clothing store to buy cheap clothes and sandals. The seller packed the clothes which Dallas bought into a bag, thinking that Dallas bought the clothes for the beggars.

But Dallas looked at the man and said, “Do you have a dressing room here?”

The man looked at him from his head to his shoes, and said, “your appearance looks like a billionaire. What do you want to use our dressing room for? To wear these cheap clothes?”

Dallas smiled. “I borrowed this clothes I wear from someone. I’m not the owner. Did I really look rich in it?”

The man hissed because he had already planned to convince Dallas to marry his daughter. But now that his expectations about handsome Dallas hurt him, he opened a toilet.

“Sir, but I want to use your dressing room,” Dallas said.

“Fake living bitch. Get the fuck out of here if you can’t dress there.”

Dallas hurried into the toilet, closing the door behind him. The odor in the toilet nearly makes him vomit. He quickly changed his clothes.

He should have changed his clothes in the man's presence, instead of entering the toilet, but he didn’t want the man to see his ATM and the army’s singlet and snicker, which he wore.

After taking some money from the coat and keeping his coat in the bag, he get out of the toilet.

“20 dollars for your clothes, and you gonna pay for the bag,” the man said.

“How much?” Dallas asked.

“10 dollars, making 30 dollars.”

Dallas slammed lots of money on the table before the man.

The man raised his eyebrows, counting the money. And when he counts five hundred dollars out of the money, he raised his head in surprise, but Dallas had gone.

Dallas was walking on the street with only two things on his mind. The number one thing is to marry Rosalie, and live to make her happy every single moment.

And the number two thing is to take revenge on ‘The Eye and The Blood’ group, for murdering his parents and for burning his brothers and younger sister.

No one knows that there was a group called ‘The Eye and The Blood’, because it was kept as secret to get billions of dollars through corruption. The group won’t care to kill anyone that stand as a hindrance.

Dallas could remember the faces of the members in ‘The Eye and The Blood’ group, and he was in eager to see their faces again.

Although some people might have forgotten that unknown person burned Brandon Torrington’s house, but the house was still burning in the Dallas’s heart.

Back then, as a hopeless boy, he had screamed for help, but now as a poisonous gentleman, his heart was yearning for Rosalie and for a revenge.
